I wish they made a medium kabar I just feel that the short is just too small overall and the regular is just an inch or two longer then what most knife users need. My favorite stand in is the glock knife it's right in between the small and regular with a similar design sadly the handle is polymer so it's not as nice feeling.
I want one of these and I will wear it on my hip everyday😁 the handles are just a hair to thin I would love them to thicken the handles just a bit. Have you looked at their crewman style navy knife, it has a straight flat grind and comes in both leather and rubber grips. The leather handle edition doesn't have the spacers so it looks like their hunting grips .

Want to compare the original to the war machine like you basically already have. I also thought about starting a collection of not only kabar but different companies variants like Medford, cold steels, your war machine and any more I can find. I think extrema Ratio? Ontario? All that good jive 😏
Oh I know. Because it's a review, I judge them out of the box only. If a knife isn't made perfect in the first place, it isn't perfect. You shouldn't have to add to a brand new blade to make it right.

My Big Brother has spine serrations. Its ITEM: 2217. The short is plain edge, ITEM 1251 and my Army is partial serration. You might like the Navy one though. ITEM 1225.

Does it come with the plain brown leather sheath or the USMC stamped brown leather sheath? It says a sheath is included but idk if the USMC one has to be purchased separately

Hey Dony, try some O-Rings in those gaps, increases grip and comfort.
An easy fix, but the issue is that you shouldn't need easy fixes on a brand new knife.

I agree. Give me a handle that’s 4.75 inches not 4.125 and a blade of 6.25 inches for a total length of 11 inches

I have. My big issue with KA-BAR in general is their crappy grips. This one though I like better than the standard USMC size.
I have purchased one and I do daily carry mine. It is an absolute tank and I would put this against and buck or benchmade any day of the week!
