Love what you said about Serato intro. They should just get rid of it and support all controllers for SDJ cause Pioneer is kicking ass in the Rekordbox movement👊🏼 #longoverdue
i just bought mtpro3 and its really great controller...but what you said about serato intro...i just cant use it...tried but cant...and just use custom mapping for mtpro3 in traktor...
I'm a beginner dj. Can you help me in deciding between mixtrack platinum, ddj sb2, ddj rb. Please someone help. The serato intro is the only con in the first 2
I have notice problem in use, the jog oled display screens tend to scratch very easy ( light marks) the plastic is very fine and will scratch , I'm wondering if this effect numarks new ns6!! controller, which has the same screens ?
Hello =) i'm new to Djing, so i'm fresh beginner and i want to buy a controller to get started with and to explore it well. The idea is not to buy a "cheap" hardware and then if i like Djing and get more serious , sell this and buy a better one.. I would like to buy a nice controller that i can use it later even if i become more "pro".. So tell me: in your opinion , should i buy DDJ-RB or Numark mixtrack Platinum?
Lars Xcover It's important to mention what it "RB" and "SB" stand for. The S and R designate what software it's compatible. R is for RecordboxDJ and S is for Serato. The Platinum is a great controller but I would actually recommend the DDJ SR (used) or the RB (New). Having full License RecordboxDJ is nice but I would not really recommend the Platinum unless you have have full Serato. If your starting outnthough, I'd look into used models of the SR or the SB. I can't really recommend RecordboxDJ unless you are full committed to going full RecordboxDJ for your workflow.
Yes but you have to buy it,or if your lucky some DJ shop sites sell it already with full software but it just means the controller will cost a bit more.
I have been researching for weeks as a beginning DJ. and I and SOO stuck between the Numark Mixtrack Platinum and the Pioneer DDJ SB2. The Platinum has the longer pitch tabs and the bpm screens but I heard Pioneer is more durable and worth it long term plus the SB2 has the full Rekordbox software . BUT I heard that software has its flaws. I NEED HELP :(
Akili Yasmine the sb2 doesn't have full rekordbox. It comes only with serato intro. I think you're talking about the rb, which comes with full rekordbox. I would recommend you to buy that with closed eyes as it gives you the bigger buck for the money. If you want to take djing seriously and are looking to stick to it for more advanced features, then the rb is the buy
why only 4 cue points when there's 8 pads? I have an NS7 and want a second/backup/smaller controller but I use cuepoints 5-8 quiite often. What gives? Oh well. I'll just plug in one of my ReLoop Neons if I need too
TheNeemaV get the rb. It has all the features that you're ns7 has. It comes with a full version of rekordbox which will also be useful for you. And moreover it has 8 hot cues with 8 dedicated pads. Beware, liking it you may even use ns7 as backup because it is the most advanced entry controller
I've been playing with my mixer today through vdj8 but I find the gain knobs to be so bad, I had to either push down or lift the knob in order to get it to respond does any1 else have this issue? its a brand new mixer.
dj phil I guess so but the build quality should be solid. Maybe some QC issues at their factory. Seen lots of reviews about different parts of the hardware being faulty at purchase so I nearly didn’t bother. But I got a good one that functions perfectly and will probably last forever. It’s probably too late now but you could have returned it. Sometimes not worth the effort screwing around with returns though either.
Riftonik thanks for the feedback I will just run it, for now, it's just gain buttons that are are not very accurate compared to pioneer mixers but the price difference is big factor.
Which will be the best pair of studio monitor for music production in a home studio which has minimum acoustic treatment ? Almost every kind of genre (65% EDM). Room size=12feet*9feet. My budget permits me the below options: 1) M-Audio BX8 D2 2) Yamaha HS7 3) JBL LSR 305 4) KRK Rokit5 G3 5) Tannoy Reveal 502 6) Presonus Eris E5 7) Yamaha HS5
I have the Eris E5 speakers and they kick ass, but the JBL speakers are pretty excellent as well. have a little more range and are about the same price.
Blessing Lee rb gives the better bang for money and gives full version of rekordbox. It has all the advanced features that modern djs use and the software (which if purchase alone costs 130 $) is the software which is mostly used In all of pioneers equipment other than the serato series. I had this great confusion as well and I bought the rb. Now I don't regret it. All the best.
I agree with a lot of the comments, the 4 decks with 2 channel mixer setup is pointless. the mixtrack pro is an entry level 2 channel controller, always will be. they would be better to stick to 2 channels but add the full serato DJ software. at this price point, this should be the controller that unlocks the full software because it's the controller that opens the door to full feature djing. everything below it is a toy, everything above (with serato or tractor) is pro. this is a gateway controller.
MJGSkyline that's silly mate, are you serious? I'm experienced vinyl Dj , this controller is the best !!? there is not controller out there with pitch like this, it feels like vinyl or close as to it they all feel like a laptop Dj
FSwift DJ you obviously didn't read my post properly. There is nothing wrong with the controller, I have a mk2, very happy with it. My post was in no way dissing the controller or the quality and it I'd adequate to gig. My post was focused on a 4 deck controller with 2 deck mixer. It's pointless. They would have been better enhancing the product with full serato instead of a worthless gimic. In short I fully agree with the reviewer.
Intro is VERY limited as far a functionality. Intro won't let you record, no wav support(among other file types), no video, limited FX, etc. Mojaxx makes a great point that it's about time for it to lay to rest. Like he stated in the video, Pioneer ships the full version of the rekordbox with the lowest end controllers.
I was anticipating using DJ Pro with the Platinum as I think it's a much nicer product (IMO), however it has just come to my understanding that due to the lovely displays in the jogwheels, there will be no native compatibility with the Platinum. Bummed.
as for me, mixtrack pro 3 is not good at all and not worth 300. I love old mixtrack controllers, especially mixtrack quad, but that controller is just no good. The platinum version is the same mixtrack pro 3 with two screens on it. 2\5. Sorry, Numark.
Pick what works for you. Regardless, if it's Numark, Pioneer, Traktor...etc. They are all tools of the trade. I can give reasons why I prefer one controller over another, but that's works for me. people don't care what you use if you are playing what they like.
those dj pitch faders are like mixing on technics turntables very close, I've not seen controller like that before with that quality in pitch
Love what you said about Serato intro. They should just get rid of it and support all controllers for SDJ cause Pioneer is kicking ass in the Rekordbox movement👊🏼 #longoverdue
Thanks for the great video Mojaxx. Looking to buy my first controller. This was a big help.
I like how this guy is so frank🙌
Hi ive just bought one these controllers and cant get the mic to work when going live and broadcasting any ideas what i can do thanks
Hi. Does the controller feel solid, steady? How does it fair with scratching on the plastics? Easily scuffed etc?
i just bought mtpro3 and its really great controller...but what you said about serato intro...i just cant use it...tried but cant...and just use custom mapping for mtpro3 in traktor...

Can you use Serato Pro?
I have notice problem in use, the jog oled display screens tend to scratch very easy ( light marks) the plastic is very fine and will scratch , I'm wondering if this effect numarks new ns6!! controller, which has the same screens ?
is it on the market already?
Whats better , in your opinion? The Mixtrack Platinum or the Hercules Jogvision?? Thanks, thinking of purchasing one this week, thank you bro? :)
To be fair Numark does make some solid gear for the road.
sir what apps need to coneck
when will this product come to India?
I have full version of serato is it good controller for me
Pioneer sb3 or Numark platinium?
Can you change pitch from +8 to +16 or higher?
excellent review as ever. having the pro 3 and seeing this upgrade is annoying though as can't justify it and those jog wheel displays look ace

Buy the DDJ-RB, if you don't really need the lil' screens. Otherwise buy the Mixtrack Platinum.

+Joe Lewis Yeah, I didn't thougt about that because I have a full licensed version of Serato. Thank you :)
André Guerreiro , in my opinion buy a Numark Mixtrack Pro 3. It's cheaper than the other two and gives you all you really need to get the job done.
if Mo says it good then its good...buying one tommrow....Numark all day
Plx 500 review, please #Mojaxx!
You mentioned that it only has Serrate intro, but, can this device be upgraded to the full version of Serrate?? Thanks. :)
Yes but you have to buy it,or if your lucky some DJ shop sites sell it already with full software but it just means the controller will cost a bit more.
Cool lil unit

Rb does have full recordbox. Sb2 not
DJay app is now working on this mixer
The dj pro app?
@@inkognito8834 For the mac too?

dj phil fine for me
Riftonik thank you for the reply I realise now that this mixer is just cheap you get what you pay for I guess.

I was just wondering if I can use slip mode on the Pioneer DDJ SB 2 with Serato Intro or do I need to buy a Serato license
This suppose to work for Djay Pro 2 which can mix videos.
GO REKORDBOX!!
Nice video but I've tried all the software and Virtual DJ 8 is definitely the winner. Serato DJ doesn't even come close to it.
haaaaaa haaaa! you're joking right?
I'm serious!
Numark mixtrack platinum vs pioneer ddj rb=??
Blessing Lee rb gives the better bang for money and gives full version of rekordbox. MJGSkyline yes agree 4 deck control feature pointless on this, maybe numark update 4 channel model in future
Never used intro. If your a newborn to Djing use it. But if you know you wanna get serious into DJing just save money and get the real Serato
Intro is VERY limited as far a functionality. Yea, i think its for beginners who dont want to get overwhelmed wit many options
you cant use wav files in serato intro? tragic...what about in serato pro though?
To be frank if you're using a controller and own a mac you should be using DJay pro. I have found it to be a lot more intuitive then Serato.
DJay Pro doesn't have Mixtrack Platinum compatibility yet though, but I assume they are working on it
I was anticipating using DJ Pro with the Platinum as I think it's a much nicer product (IMO), however it has just come to my understanding that due to the lovely displays in the jogwheels, there will be no native compatibility with the Platinum. Bummed.
Serato intro is bsht.
I agree 100% get rid of serrate intro
4 faders it can better

so which controller would you recommend if i am a total begginer?
I'm not a fan of Pioneer but ddj-rb is a really best choice for beginners right now.
+Evil Red tnx for the advice

Agreed, I have a ddjsx2 and i still have my mixtrack quad as a back up!!Thats one solid controller!!
Filter knobs would always be great
Did you watch the video? They are there.
Oh you're right just not a great location
And do you have to use the shift button to use them as well?
+Angel B No you don't thankfully.
Awesome thanks! May grab this as a backup!
