Hey Aluxers, what do you think about Kings and Queens? Is there a place for them today? Video on LONDON: th-cam.com/video/hPJKjYsQcRE/w-d-xo.html Smallest Castle in the UK: www.alux.com/smallest-castle-uk/
Alux sometime what you say is different from what you write on the screen, For example in this Video it was written that the queen has travelled 40,000 miles but the narrator said 400,000 miles. So which one is actually correct? 40,000 0r 400,000 miles
3:10 The term "Queen of England" is not fully correct and never used on any official occassion. She is the Queen of United Kingdom, in which England is part of it.
Her title is Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith. She is queen of 16 member nations of the Commonwealth but many Commonwealth states are republics or have their own Monarchs
The British monarchy is an important institution and is infathomably valuable to the United Kingdom. The monarchy supports the economy and the Queen is a long standing impotant diplomatic figure. The monarchy is certainly not an out-dated institution but an integral part of Britain.
The Monarchy is certainly worth it and the character and refinement. I know as an American the British Royal Family shouldn't be a concern for me, but One can not themselves to be awed by the lavish lifestyle and the Pomp and Circumstance of the British Crown. God Save The Queen and The British Royal Family. Her visit to Virginia was so incredibly exciting. Being so close to the Monarch was breath taking. She is so strong and beautiful. She is a determined woman of whom I pray daily that her reign could last forever. There will be none like her...ever. When I think of Royalty, only Queen Elizabeth II matters. No other royal family has the same dignity and pomp as the British Royal Family. I pray everyday for your health and long reign. God Save The Queen. Long May She Reign.
Beverley Hohn Chang It’s just a simple correction. There person gave no indications of trying to be a smart-pants. There was no need to be so over the top.
She was rich. Never went hungry. Never had to work. Never had to raise her children. Never had to struggle to keep the lights on. Go ahead and praise people. She never knew what the life most of us had or have to live.
Fuck me Alux you've really got to work on your pronunciation of things. It's Westminster abbey not westminister abbey. And it's pronounced 'Tems' river.
John Davis Alux.com OK please work on ur grammar and pronunciation I found untold errors... you said duke of edinbird, called them Fabrige eggs instead of Fabrige, is attempt from freedom of information, instead of exempt...and many others, this was terrible, oh and don't forget swazeeland instead of Swaziland, and the way she named the family, she said it so weird instead of just saying the queen and her extended family, the sovereign rant, not grant then said it right the next time, favor past time instead of favorite or favored, in her ownership, why not just say queen elizabeth is the owner of the largest broch, traveled more then 40 hundred thousand miles, why not just say she's traveled in excess of 1 million miles over the course of her reign while visiting more than 100 nations across the globe..huh, her pronunciation and grammar are horrid, I know mines a bit messy here but that's because I wrote it as I watched to find errors in the video...
This video poses the question about the usefulness of the monarchy. But it gives no indication of how very hard these people work. 1. The Queen has been like a mother to her people. Her life has been one of dignity, faith, moral accountability and consistency. She vowed, at the age of 21, to serve her people to the best of her ability, all her life. And she has done so. While Parliaments, come and go, she has remained as a figurehead. 2. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh has been her most loyal and hard-working subject, tireless in his charity work. His best known charity is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme which works across Commonwealth countries, encouraging young people to strive for attainment. He has finally retired from public duties, at the age of 96. 3. Charles, Prince of Wales, often receives less attention for his achievements and hard work than he receives criticisms for his failed marriage to Lady Diana Spencer. What should not be ignored is the Prince of Wales Trust which helps young people from financially deprived backgrounds to achieve their aims and establish themselves in small businesses or take a place in industries suiting their potential. Charles' other great gift to the UK has been his tireless support of environmentally soun rural practices. Charles, as Duke of Cornwall, pioneered sound farming practice in his own rural estate from the 1970s onwards, at a time when he was jeered at for being "Green". No-one is laughing NOW. The Duchy of Cornwall produces the finest beef, strawberries and other commercially available products in the country. Did you know THAT about the Royal Family? 4. Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, the Queen's daughter, has gone through much of her life overlooked by the press, and little-known outside the UK. Why would the paparazzi pursue a young woman who was brisk, business-like, undemonstrative and never likely to be photographed topless, or dancing with John Travolta? So what does she do to earn her money? She is Colonel-in-Chief of an armoured regiment, she is chancellor of a university, she a member of the UK Olympic Committee, she is the head of the Worldwide Save the Children Fund, she is the founder and patron of Riding for the Disabled, she is deacon of a number of guilds, she has a major role in maintaining the well-being of people in jails. 5. Other Royals who are regularly occupied in Royal duties because of their patronage of different charities and support of causes and institutions include include the Queen's sons, the Duke of York and the Earl o Wessex; the Queen's cousins, (who are now all elderly) the Dukes of Gloucester and Kent, Prince Michael of Kent and Princess Marina. Altogether, their patronage and support helps to bring in funds to the various organisations. When the Queen and Duke were younger, they were out and about a good deal. Many of these duties are now falling to Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne, and now Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry. Typically, a member of what is called "The Family Firm" will be engaged in duties that involved many visits. (This doesn't include State Occasions). A person, say the Princess Royal, might fly to a town, say Manchester, in the morning, having spent time in preparation with an aide, and knowing the names of the people to be met, and any vital issues. She would then attend a function in the morning, then a luncheon, and another event in the afternoon. All along the way, between the various venues, there will be crowds of people and schoolchildren all wanting attention. The Royal person might have to make several formal speeches, or perhaps just say a few less formal words. Some of the meetings might be very challenging, if there has been a local disaster, or distress or protests over unemployment or some such. Typically, the person will then fly back to London and finish the day by attending a board meeting, or formal dinner. It is all very exhausting, requires being pleasant, shaking a great many hands, listening to people's stories and being on top of a great deal of information. Then there are the State Occasions which might involve wearing a military dress uniform. The Queen always used to take the salute at the annual Trooping of the Colour, in uniform and on horseback, but now in their nineties, she and the Duke travel in an open carriage. If you have the opportunity to attend this function, it is a grand sight!
The crown estate is technically the monarch's property, though they allow the state to profit off them in exchange for an allowance, given the crown lands weren't very profitable during the reign of George III. When the monarch ascends the throne, they sign away their right to profit from them, but not their ownership and although every monarch since George III has done so, it's not required.
So if you are ALUX for all-luxury, perhaps you should learn how to properly pronounce some of these words correctly. Faberge=Fa-ber jay, Thames=Tems etc.
She's traveled "forty-hundred-thousand miles"? Whew that sure is a lot of miles! Though these facts are interesting, they lose credit when the person sharing it mispronounces and misspeaks incessantly.
Hi Alux, not hating, but if you're going to make a video about the UK, please pronounce British things right, like Westminster & Thames.... please, it's not that hard. And she isn't the queen of England, but of (not only) the UK (and the Commonwealth Realm).
MC Meyer Add to that "Edin-berg" and "Fab-erj" eggs. This channel purports to be about the finer things, yet can't manage a decent education or some badly needed elocution lessons.
I love the Queen and the Royal Family. I think the world is a better place with her in it. I admire her dedication and commitment to be an excellent example for not only her country but the whole world. Other leaders would be wise to follow her example. She is most certainly set a excellent example for those who follow her.❤️❤️LONG LIVE THE QUEEN ❤️❤️
Queen Elizabeth is really a fabulous, extraordinary woman from her own time she started to say as a Queen however she was disciplined, intelligent and determined to rule the England in her own way...Long Live The Queen! This video is a inspiration to all woman who persevere and follow what is right and good for all mankind sake! 🥰😍😘🌹🌷
Queen Elizabeth II is a much needed icon in today and tomorrows world, but I'm not sure if the same can be said after the passing of the Greatest Monarch in human history. Long live the Queen !
Queen of England? west-minister? river fames? belonging to the state? it's the crown, which represents her. ugh oh my god this is so painful to watch. learn to talk and learn accurate facts before making a video.
The Life and current time historical account of the Queen's activities world-wide have been indeed remarkably brilliant. She has seen through two world wars and she is still the personification of virtue and national pride
The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II does not appear on all United Kingdom banknotes. It appears only on Bank of England notes, and only then since it first appeared in 1960 on a new issue of the £1 note. The notes of the various banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland who are authorized to issue notes do not bear (and never have borne) a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Incidentally, there is no such a person as the Queen of England.
You can't pretend to hold the channel intended for those that strive for "better things" in life and maintain this uncultivated rushed pronunciation with several direct mistakes in pronouncing important names and known high-level brands. It screams: cheap.
Drives me nuts these stupid inaccuracies like this one I've just stated: "That dark red or Burgundy coloured car isn't a Rolls Royce so why they're using that term is incredibly stupid, it's actually a Bentley. For a start all RR's cars are actually (from 1998 onwards) have always been manufactured by BMW, the only thing RR manufacture themselves in the UK are the jet engines from their factory in Derby. Also the Magna Carta (has a term in latin meaning The Great Charter of the Liberties) states no Monarchy is above the law, now if they can cover things up using certain approaches then that's another matter."
Doesn't look anything like a Rolls Royce for a start even I don't or can't understand why they said they were RR's, well after 2002 that is of course....
I think royalty is part of world history, a sign of leadership and Divine life, a semble of order, the big boss on earth rules structure, laws and safety. And it is good to know someone's history and back ground, because if you love people you should never want to get any one in trouble.
This is terrible. Wrong facts, mispronounciation...the narrator actually said, "forty-hundred-thousand". Come on. And she is the great, great, GREAT granddaughter of Queen Victoria. That's three "greats".
We love our Queen in British Columbia! I feel like the allure of the Royal Family might end with Elizabeth the 2nd though. I can't imagine King Charles the 3rd as Regent because we know about his personal life and divorces etc...but this could just be me.
Im just a southern man from the U.S. but i love to keep up with that sweet old woman. Something about her. Im sure she is just as nice and thoughtful as she appears on tv.
Corrections: Elizabeth Alexandra MARY not “Marie” It’s pronounced Edinbur-uh not “Edinburg” Did I hear Willup? Its also pronounces Bucking-m not Bucking-HAM Minor flaws, but good video over all
The nickname Lillabet, ( hope the spelling is correct), this is the sweetest nickname, with twinkles of good positive feelings of energy, for one to hear when called. Queen Elizabeth II, & Mother Queen, show such great happiness in each other's presence, one like myself can see & feel the bursts of happiness they shared together. Queen Elizabeth II, must have had a very simplistic lifestyle with her Mum & Dad, regardless of all the riches, her parents taught her the true meaning of life is riches of the heart, with peace, love & joy always, in times of sadness or worry the feelings of one's genuine soulful spirit will always shine through with a light from one's inner being. Thank you, for allowing me to view Queen Elizabeth II, for my admiration of Your Majesty, is and inspiration to me always. Your Royal Family are all good looking like yourself & your husband, Prince Phillip, your love & devotion to one another should be a true example throughout the whole world, the true meaning of true love.👍Sincerely, emvc
@@moonlitdesert Thank you, Mim, Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Phillip carry on their lives with the tradition, with the values which they were both brought up with, & their devotion to one another is a true example of love. Usually, send a message to Queen Elizabeth II, after viewing videos, though for a couple of weeks or so many changes are occuring in my home with my daughter, Rebecca, she is moving back home, after 12 years of mental abuse, she has finally realized a woman of her character & charisma deserves a better life which she will have & the opportunity to earn her own income when she moves back home with me. My 2 gkids will be staying also, except when they go for time spent with their father. On the other hand my son is going through his own problems in making wrong choices which is draining me because the outcome is unknown at this time. Mim, forgive me, for sharing this with you, guess, right now these concerns are on my mind. My daughter & gkids were unable to have contact with me for almost 4 years, because of the control her mate used on her. Rebecca only comes on weekends till 6/13 then she will be staying with me full time. "Sacred Heart of Jesus I trust in You." Hope we get to communicate again, it has been a pleasure, Mim, & going alittle overboard with thoughts concerning me are mine, although sometimes we need to talk about problems when one's needs too.✌💘☺👼😇🌞🌌🌝
Hi you guys have forgotten to mention that the Queen is the guardian of the Royal collection this is a fabulous collection of paintings jewels furniture porcelain clocks and stamps .May I go on to say that the Queens grant does include the Prince of Wales his wife and children. The Prince of Wales 's house hold gets the income from land he owns in Cornwall and in other parts of the country. The Prince users this revenue to help run his house hold and does not get a penny from the sovereigns grant. The Queens flight was am afraid to say was not mentioned either these are helicopters planes and fast jets . The Sovereign also owns land in Lancaster and one of the Queens titles is that of the Duke of Lancaster the Queen owes land there's too and this forms all her personal income. That is enough from me am off to save the World right now.
M Maj no such person. She is Queen of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland not just England. There hasn’t been queen of England since act of the union
On it's face, I generally look down on royalty, but Queen Elizabeth is truly different. She respects animals, respects the independence of parliament, willingly pays taxes, and takes her duties of service very seriously
In her Capacity as the Queen, she is the largest land owner in the world, possesses the largest and most expensive art collection in the world, the most expensive Jewry collection and the most expensive property collection in the world. Buckingham palace itself is worth over $1B. It is without a doubt that she as the Queen and not Elizabeth is amongst the richest people in the world
Joe MacDougall its not public property. It belongs to the State which in turn belongs to the Crown. Elizabeth personally does not own the Palace but as the Queen, she does. As soon as she dies or abdicates, she no longer owns the Palace. She does have the right as her capacity as the Queen to do as she wishes to the Palace
James the activist The Government will pay for the refurbishment via the Sovereign Grant. That does not mean the people have any right to ownership of the Palace. She is just exercising her constitutional right to receive funding from her government.
Loved the video, really good with the exception of mispronounced words which makes the reader seem ignorant. Love the Queen and wish she was my Granny. 🙌👍
Andrew scott it's both, there was a time when the two brands were intertwined around the Great Depression. And yes the car is bespoke but I don't think it's as old as that - I'm sure it's more of again as +Alux mentions at the ending it's more of a continuation of tradition, in this case visual.
Many thanks for the information. The Monarchy has stood the test of time. In recent times has been very supportive by enforcing regulations favouring the common good of the globe.

Definitely a valued tradition!!!❤️🌹👑
The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II does not appear on all United Kingdom banknotes. It appears only on Bank of England notes, and only then since it first appeared in 1960 on a new issue of the £1 note. The notes of the various banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland who are authorized to issue notes do not bear (and never have borne) a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Incidentally, there is no such a person as the Queen of England.
No hate but you said the River Thames incorrectly, it hurts 😱😢
Alux.com you're channel is the first one I've subscribed to.
That is amazing!! Thank you so much :)
But now I've unsubscribed because all the videos are about individual people
I liked the ones that include tips for the watchers
You can't pretend to hold the channel intended for those that strive for "better things" in life and maintain this uncultivated rushed pronunciation with several direct mistakes in pronouncing important names and known high-level brands. It screams: cheap.
You've said it most eloquently. Big thumbs up for you. Big thumbs down for this video.
Not to mention getting her title wrong...there is no Queen of England!
Drives me nuts these stupid inaccuracies like this one I've just stated:
"That dark red or Burgundy coloured car isn't a Rolls Royce so why they're using that term is incredibly stupid, it's actually a Bentley.
No, that's wrong. It's two greats.
Victoria (great-great grandmother)
Edward VII (great-grandfather)
George V (grandfather)
George VI (father)
Rest in peace my queen Elizabeth ❤️❤️❤️☹️
"Queen Elizabeth is the longest reinging British Monarch" probably cuz she's secretly immortal
We love our Queen in British Columbia!
I feel like the allure of the Royal Family might end with Elizabeth the 2nd though. I can't imagine King Charles the 3rd as Regent because we know about his personal life and divorces etc...but this could just be me.
Oh yah, she travels to Canada more! I live in Canada! 😀😀😀🇨🇦
Im just a southern man from the U.S. but i love to keep up with that sweet old woman. Something about her. Im sure she is just as nice and thoughtful as she appears on tv.
Jeremy Pickard I agree. I’m a southerner as well but definitely a royalist. I love the British monarchy and the Queen.
Corrections:
Elizabeth Alexandra MARY not “Marie”
It’s pronounced Edinbur-uh not “Edinburg”
Did I hear Willup?
Its also pronounces Bucking-m not Bucking-HAM
Minor flaws, but good video over all
The nickname Lillabet, ( hope the spelling is correct), this is the sweetest nickname, with twinkles of good positive feelings of energy, for one to hear when called.
"Sacred Heart of Jesus I trust in You." Hope we get to communicate again, it has been a pleasure, Mim, & going alittle overboard with thoughts concerning me are mine, although sometimes we need to talk about problems when one's needs too.✌💘☺👼😇🌞🌌🌝
How is there an "infinite number" of photographs featuring the Queen???
Love the royal family, long live the queen
river thanes?? Thames
long live the queen. long live the windsors.
Queen Elizabeth II is not Queen of England - and never has been. That title ceased to exist the 1st May 1707.
HM deserve all this she is the Queen I love her
Please do, 15 things you didn't know about McLauren!
You didn't told that she is the sister of bloddy mary
The Queen is very beautiful. I have always admired her.
Thank you Alux.com, for pronouncing River Thames correctly. (It's Tims)
I'm American and even I know it's not "Westminister" or "Edin-burg" 😂 also did she really just pronounce the h in Thames? 😭💀
LONG LIVE QUEEN OF ENGLAND.
M Maj no such person. She is Queen of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland not just England. There hasn’t been queen of England since act of the union
do a video on queen victoria and queen elizabeth I
On it's face, I generally look down on royalty, but Queen Elizabeth is truly different. She respects animals, respects the independence of parliament, willingly pays taxes, and takes her duties of service very seriously
Who's here after her death
This is the best video ever thanks for the video
*All I want to know can she return our precious kohinoor diamond??*
She can't
Sumit1 Gujar
It's not hers to give.
Great video. And that diamond brooch?!
Only 500 million? Wow. I thought it was more.
Joe MacDougall her personal income as Elizabeth is $500M. Her wealth as the Queen is over $10B including all the properties and Crown Jewels
In her Capacity as the Queen, she is the largest land owner in the world, possesses the largest and most expensive art collection in the world, the most expensive Jewry collection and the most expensive property collection in the world. Buckingham palace itself is worth over $1B. It is without a doubt that she as the Queen and not Elizabeth is amongst the richest people in the world
I don't know what they said there. Although, yeah. Technically Buckingham Palace is public property. As is the White House
'Edinburg' wtf xD
Thank you 💞😇🙏
Seeing as I am British I knew 11 of these
royals are the heritage of London .long live the king long live the queen
...crowned at Westcynister Abby..?! Lol Westminster.
INdiverCT: Also said 'River Thaimz' instead of 'River Temz'.
Also said lileeebet instead of lilibet and prince willip instead of Prince Phillip...
RebeccaSarah: Prince Philip rather than Prince Phillip.
Forgive her, I think she' s american ! Eventhough this is not an excuse for being so stupid. It's not the only mistakes she did.
Mirela Irina Petre no, she’s Canadian
we love the queen and the royal family i pass the union jack a few times a week always saying to myself ' God save the queen'
the red car of queen is not rolls royce it is bentley
Andrew scott it's both, there was a time when the two brands were intertwined around the Great Depression. And yes the car is bespoke but I don't think it's as old as that - I'm sure it's more of again as +Alux mentions at the ending it's more of a continuation of tradition, in this case visual.
A Message for the queen before she leaves this World coming soon.
40 hundred thousand miles? What?
Many thanks for the information.
The Monarchy has stood the test of time.
In recent times has been very supportive by enforcing regulations favouring the common good of the globe.
missed out important one ie. kohinoor diamond on her crown
BHARGAV RAJ it's on the late Queen Mother's not the Queen's
TheDyligentLad 90 good research.
It's actually not the property of the monarch. It a part of the Crown Jewels which is the property of the people of England.
jason wojnicz which was actually taken from india during the british rule in india. it’s originally india’s
Myself, She is the most important thing to us ever, keeps us dancing, more of you would be poet shine
Forty-Hundred Thousand miles? Really?
Her Majesty is an amazing lady, and is wonderful. X X
Prince Willip lol
For #13 you have it written that "The Queen has travelled more than 40,000 miles on official engagements". You might want to fix that...LOL
do more videos about royal family for around the world.
Cezzlina why not?
Long may she reign.
