Lust, because she could, because she didn't think of the consequences, and thought nobody would know, and in this case also the typical universal female weakness for high status males. The protagonist clearly was quite right to keep a close eye on her, and her bs of 'I can take care of myself' was again, for the umpteenth time proven false. For which she can't really be blamed. Men are to blame. For allowing men to prey on married women, and for relinquishing paternal protection under the guise of 'equality' and 'liberation'.
