Killing Floor 2: HoE Spillway Solo Firebug Long Game w/Hans

Join the opt-in beta for PC only! Follow these steps.
1. Go to your steam game library
2. Right click Killing Floor 2 then go into properties
3. Find the betas tab on the top
4. Select the beta into preview-
5. Let the update install then play
With this update, it adds one new map called Spillway. 2 new weapons, and the rework of the rage/panic weapon mechanics of firebug. The weapons added are, Helios Rifle for Firebug, and the Killerwatt exclusively for the Survivalist. As well of some nice game play changes that are all pretty neat. Everything is listed in the changelog down below.

In this run, I went with the perk Firebug. Seeing how firebug got a huge rework, it was worth checking out it's new mechanics as well of the new weapon for it, the Helios Rifle. A more then capable tier 4 weapon that deals tons of DPS making firebug a potentially viable large zed killer. It clears trash efficiently, and larges without too much difficulty. Really fun to use and I wouldn't mind more weapons like it for firebug. It gives the perk more depth and options because the perk felt so restricted with only a few viable load outs. As for the map, Spillway takes place in a dam facility. It's well made with a few choke points worth holding, with zed spawns fluctuating from place to place. I held outside near the catwalk overlooking the sun set. While quite pretty, it's one of the best spots I found to hold in solo because they're isn't any back spawns for zeds to flank or cause chaos when kiting safely. Overall, great map I'd to see more like it.

I hope they don't backpedal on the Helios Rifle like they did with the Husk Cannon. The Husk Cannon was arguably way too strong on release, but they left it in a pretty crippled state since nerf and I don't even like using it myself anymore. I understand the problematic of giving a strong trash clearer like FB a way to reliably kill large Zeds, but if TWI doesn't want that they shouldn't add weapons like the HC or HR in the first place imo.
Easy solution : give weapons like these to a Survivalist. That way, you don't need to nerf them because no one plays Survivalist anyway.
Tripwire has the nasty habit of making new weapons strong on release and then nerfing them to the ground hence we are stuck with the old meta weapons.

7:07 Awesome...exactly how I like to end rounds, whenever I can pull it off. Zed fights are hilarious.....especially when you can waste a Husk (distracted or otherwise) with his own tank.

Apart from changing the panic mechanic on zeds, what are your thoughts on the shrapnel perk now as it stuns zeds instead of making them stumble so it could set up easy headshots for the team, or is fb still an annoyance for people running ss/gs?

I used to never play firebug, but over the years as he gained new weapons I find him to be one of the most fun perks in the game. I think that he may just have the greatest variety of usable weapon loadouts amongst all the other perks. I myself prefer ground fire builds whereas my brother prefers full ballistic firebug.

So the Helios rifle is gonna get nerfed...
On solo it's viable than 6p because of the sheer number and other factors such as ammo count, reloading.
My best combo would be having a caulk with helios upgraded. Using caulk with groundfire for crowd control and helios for fps and scrakes. Also helios is really awesome against the boss.

Instead of knocking zeds down, now the zed shrapnel skill makes the zeds around an exploded one to stun. It makes it easier for other perks like sharpshooter or gunslinger to finish em off.
@@DanmakuNyanNyan Sharpshooter and Gunslinger are more than capable of taking down large zeds on their own, and the random screenshake produced by that skill just gets in the way.
I like how you always go for the Dragonbreath whenever you play FB. Any practical reason for that, or simply personal preferences?
I use it just for variety of the class for each FB video, and it's really fun to play and showoff with.

Yep, definitely a close cousin to Doom's Plasma Rifle, but with slower RoF(although in exchange, it hits a bit harder, and burns its enemies too).
