I remember the very same thing Feb. 12, 1999 when it snowed like this for 2 days. I ended up clearing over 5 feet of snow during that time. Certainly glad Kitimat has some of the best snow-clearing equipment in the world!
Than God we haven't seen much in Ontario this year!!! & Even better that we didn't get what you all did !!! Glad to see most of you all working together to get through the mess !!! Thanks 4 Sharing!!
OMG, part of my childhood was living in Kitimat, when they said we are getting 3 feet of snow over night......it`s all true, but as a kid l love it........thanks for the video.
That snow is nothing - grew up in the early 50's when it was twice as deep. Those were great days for kids, forts, and a lot of digging out in layers.❄☃
You are from kamloops! I love it there. My aunt lives there. I am from the Netherlands. Omg, I would have not be able to find my car back. This is the amound of snow like we had for the last 37 years all together lol
I never would have thought I would come across a TH-camr who is at KMP. That is fucking awsome! The snow may have stopped, but the rain is coming, and this place is gonna be a giant slushie in a matter of days.
I used to live in Kitimat when this would happen every year, sometimes 2 or 3 times in the same winter. I made a sideline business out of removing rooftop snow with my chimney sweeping business. the last decade they have been spoiled. I still love Kitimat, just not the snow.
We used to live in Kitimat, back in '82, and the snow that year was as bad, if not worse, that year. The companies paid the guys their regular wages to clean off the trailers. Welders, pipefitters, electricians, etc. all had to shovel. The snow was up to the eaves of houses and the shopping center on Nalabila was behind a huge snow bank. Kitimat does mean "Valley of The Snows", I do believe. Thanks for sharing your video. Great work by the guys, too, for shoveling out your car. Did they get their beer?? LOL
This is beautiful. Is there anyone who needs the help during the winter season?I'll do anything..Laundry,dish-washing,housecleaning ,grocery, snow plow ...Anything..Just let me stay there during the winter ....Its so so nice :)
Holy Shit! That's some serious snow! I've never heard of the theory that the snow and ice could crush a windshield and I've lived in some serious snow country myself! Good Luck with your car... how's that coming along? Thanks for the vid, well done.
Greetings from Russia again! Could you tell me where is that? Want to see it on Google maps. It would also be interesting to see how it looks like when the all snow has melted. Please walk the same route when the snow has gone.
meanwhile in israel, people are excited about a chance of snow mixed with rain on wednesday night in jerusalem lol... you may find it hard to believe but i'm really jealous of you guys :) hopefully next year i'll finish my immigration process and move to terrace bc!
not too hot in the summer, not too cold in the winter, amazing landscape, quite place, a nearby ski resort, college, hospital.... come on, it's heaven on earth :)
israel ganan I get your point but my advice is rent a car when you get to Vancouver and go for a road trip to visit BC.The whole province is beautiful.Do that before you choose a place already, meanwhile welcome to Canada
That was nothing. You should lived there in the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s. One story houses had tunnels leading to the front door. 20ft high snowbanks from the snowblowers. The weight of the snow is not going to crush the windshield. A little dramatic.
For wet snow grain scoops work great and is the best tool for such texture of snow. For really dry snow the types they are using are best, because you will be scooping and pushing a lot more often and those grain scoops overwork your back and probably heart.

You all are some friendly folks!
Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed that. I would love a snowstorm, we're getting it in rain down here on the "Wet Coast". Stay warm.
At least you guys had heat and power. In town we had none of that. A hot coffee was just a dream
When I was a kid, I use to shovel roofs in the evening for money.
I'm from kitimat and we went 2 days with on and off power outages. Things are getting better here.
Damn... Never saw that much snow in my whole life
Where is kitimat?
now that's what I call a REAL winter

I have no idea why people try to shovel snow with those stupid shovels. Aluminum grain shovels work the best! Great video

Aluminum shovels will scratch the paint on the vehicles, ironic that is was at the Aluminum Smelter, where that camp was....
Am i weird for feeling jealous that they get to enjoy all of that snow?
Lol...
A little yes.. . unless u like living without Power & Shoveling Snow then no lol
Amazing
A cant say anythınh about thıs beauty
You should do something though... Not to be mean! I love this video but letting others help you while you stand by isn't very nice
Alex Leonardi TBH she did say she'll pay them or get them alcohol so it's a trade they were willing to make.
Sheeee-it !!
