Xi Jinping has not only been re-elected as the top leader of the People's Republic of China, but has also received full powers. Xi thus becomes the most powerful Chinese leader of the last five decades. He has become something like the political reincarnation of Mao Zedong.
Despite this demonstration of power, the truth is that China is not going through its best times. Xi's years at the helm of China have had some successes but also major failures. In this video we give you all the details about what Xi Jinping has meant for the economy, politics and society of the People's Republic of China.

It is often difficult to talk to Chinese companies about consistent quality. The top often makes their own decisions. If you set up your own business in China, you encounter enormous opposition and regulations. Therefore, enterprises decide to move out. Although they often eat together there is a whole system from low to high in a Chinese organization and at the bottom you often have no say.
That everyone is forced to be subject to censorship and must share all information can never be good.
That sellers in the current housing crisis are allowed to sell three or four houses that have not even been built yet I think is a huge scam. That so many uniforms are being built throughout the country does not make it any better. People are supposed to live. The freedom to express that in artistic ways is being suppressed.

@@peterseth3296 I totally agree. China is portrayed in the west as some oppressive, all top down society but it in actuality it is quite free. Of course it's not as free as America and some other western countries but that doesn't mean that the system is oppressive (the cancel culture in the west is getting even worse). It is also good to see them embrace capitalism and grow their domestic market, industry's, technology and future generation. There are some controversies here and there that we hear in the west but then those are every where it's just that our media is the best at censoring what is not in the gov't favour. I do believe that a new Deng Xiaoping would be better for China than Xi but that is just a dream and realistically speaking Xi is way better than most other leaders. It is necessary to look at China from a new perspective, an open mind and objectively comparing it to the rest of the world while at the same taking into account the last 100 years of it's history. What they have gone through can only be described as a miracle these last few 30-40 years and that should be taken into account.

To say that the local competitiveness was decreased hence why the Japan economy got ruined IS Chinese propaganda. The major factor was the Japanese's poor economic policies which only funneled the money into non-productive investments because somehow all East Asian countries loves to buy properties - and this includes China as well. The strong yen and low interest rate made Japanese people more rich in the very short term by investing into the property bubble which locked the money into non-productive investment, that was what killed Japan's economy, which is entirely self-inflicted. China is heading into about the same direction which is why they want people to believe it was "foreign interference" ie the Plaza Accord which killed Japan cos they are just gaslighting its own citizens.

China's poverty is a huge problem. Their domestic economy is weak so they heavily rely on exporting goods to stay afloat. This makes China more vulnerable to world wide economic conditions than the West is. The United States is China's largest costumer. This gives the United States a tremendous amount of economic power over China. Any Tariffs, sanctions or embargos the United States were to levy against China could be so disastrous as to tank the Chinese economy in very short order. The United States is reliant on Chinese goods, but could weather the short fall created by trade sanctions without economic collapse. China's future is tethered to the west in ways the Chinese can't extract themselves from without being economically crippled. Xi Jinping is well aware of all this. We'll see what he does about it over the next five years.

At least it seems like 3rd term Jinping is adopting somewhat new policy, scraping zero-covid, advocate more diplomacy in summits and making changes to the (honestly a bit too free) market. Hopefully these will translate into a more liberal and progressive way of thinking than it previously had done

Xi is certainly appears to be Mao in a suit. But progress in China... however you look at it... is de-accelerating. China will try to blame this on the West; but, this is something that China is doing to itself.

Jinping is not at all a bad or weak leader but I belive he hasn't been as successful on the socail front as he has been on the economic front. Even though China is quickly reclaiming it's crown as the world's economic center it has not been able to adopt somewhat more cautious and liberal methods (as it should for a country that rich and influential). I believe it would be better with someone like Deng Xiaoping who were more progressive but until China finds that person Xi remains the better compared to many leaders around the world (certainly the western ones). He is no Putin but it's seems like he is shaping up to be
