Captain Cliff Unger is one of the coolest video game characters in recent years. Hideo Kojima is a genius. Mads Mikkelsen was perfect for the role, absolutely perfect.

Black cords are controlling death people from the WW2 and Del Toro is running or escaping this World the Only baby that's immune to this black cord.
There's Mads controlling death soldiers and a baby doll does the same thing has the baby, one eye open. that's about it. also there are hand prints on the walls in the sewers.

God damn, I still come back to this trailer for 3:03 onward. The game really had nothing to do with the military barring Cliff's back story yet all of his scenes like this are the most intense and marvelous scenes of a US "fireteam" that I've seen in animation. Kojima Productions needs to make a psychological sci-fi film like Annihilation with Mads Mikkelsen as the protagonist.

Alex Roark it's us, the game is supposed to be a major 4th wall fuckery. While we are actually in the game as ourselves and all the actors are playing themselves. For instance it said starring normand Reedus but it never said Guillermo del toro because he wasn't staring in it. He was in it. And the baby's represent us the homo Ludens or "man at play" will be born into the game and aware of the real world and the game. And the world is all an idea of how we fucked up the world with pollution due to all the oil (the blood of the earth) and the dead animals.

Just passed this order last night. The atmosphere during the ww1 and ww2 sequences is amazing, guys responsible are either geniuses or diehard veterans of the genre. Hands down best experiences I had with this game during the 100 hours I've spent on it!

Ok, let's see what we got here:
- Dead crabs all over, all full of eggs, with those strange umbilical cords coming from their belly, four of them are RED;
- Del Toro running away scared, with a can and handcuffs on the right wrist, the same of the other trailer in which Norman Reedus appear, a scar on his forehead and a brooch with the words "Bridges, united cities of America" and America with a web on it;
- A baby appear after Del Toro connects a tube on the can and open only one eye (the moment he connects the tube the baby disappear from Norman Reedus hands in the other trailer);
- Skeletal soldiers coming from WWII connected to a tank covered with guts with the same umbilical cords, airplanes with umbilical cords flying on their heads and a black fluid coming through the briks under them;
- A flipped over rainbow;
- A baby doll is pulled by another black umbilical cord into the sewers, has a cross like scar on his belly and glows red;
- Black hand prints on the walls of the sewers (like in the other trailer);
- Mads Mikkelsen shows up with a night vision on his helmet and four soldiers connected to him by the same umbilical cords seen before;

Large man with baby in a jar has been transported to a hellish afterlife catalyzed by the collective suffering of soldiers who fought in World War 2 in Europe, and currently occupied in particular by that dude leading the skeleton soldiers, whom is not entirely aware of what's actually going on around him.
Not only is this not the first time this happens (you also get to have fun in World War 1 and the Vietnam War), it's not even the most important aspect of the game's setting and story.
Imagine what type of bedtime stories Hideo tells to his children before they go to sleep. Post-apocalyptic baby dolls floating on sewer water and later bumping into Mads Mikkelsen

As far as we can tell, basically a modern version of necromancer taking over the world.
I have a theory that the leader is a metaphor for Konami. One all powerful entity with the power to magic up anything it could want to but instead delegates all the hard work to as cheap a work force as possible; a bunch of poorly equipped skeletons robbed of any emotion, identity, or voice, and kept on a leash. Something like that anyway.

+Danny Dolan I know I get it, I was just kidding though I know that's difficult to discern. I happen to think Kojima is pretty overrated but I know what fandom is like, afterall I buy any Final Fantasy game regardless of how little info I have on it. I think it's pretty easy to make a mindfuck trailer like this but the difficult part is actually having it make sense in the end. It'll be interesting to see whether or not this game eventually does that.

This game looks like it will mess with time and will take place in a limbo that reminds me of Silent Hills.
That's probably what they're gonna go for. Hideo Kojima is the kind of guy that will probably try to get as close to Silent Hills as he can without it becoming a legal problem just to spite Konami, so he can laugh in their faces when they see how well the game sells and the money they could've made if they'd treated him like a human being. I mean, just look at that, he's even got Guillermo del Toro on board again. Got some first class actors, something that looks really close to the amazing FOX engine, and the soundtrack sounds like it's Ludvig Forssell from MGSV again. It's going to be perfect. Hopefully, a game to surpass Metal Gear.
hideo kojima has hisown way to make games and this one looks really like a hideo kojima game ( weird as fuk but interesting) i´m really looking forward for this.

I don't even play video games but literally clicked just for mads and was blown away by this. Amazing visuals and music.

Man these Hannibal trailers are getting weirder and weirder
Mads is The Sorrow. The area they're in is Normandy. The soldiers and tanks are using WW2 equipment. Del Toro is a representative of The Patriots. The baby is Ocelot. Ocelot was taken by The Patriots in Normandy after The Boss was given a Ceserian Section on the beaches. What happens when Snake touches The Sorrow during his boss fight? A scream. What happens when the doll touches Mads? A scream. Look at his hand gesture, it's identical to The Sorrow's during his boss fight. This is a younger The Sorrow, 20 years before his death, bringing Del Toro's character into the world of the dead to hunt him down and get his son back.
Well don't spoil John Wick 4 for everyone.
