It's 2021 and I still love the 2006~2010 300C and planning to get one as a second car, but I'm from Europe, Bulgaria and these cars are very rare. I wonder if I'll be able to find parts for it.
Had a 07 300c SRT8 as a daily. Not bad but I personally wouldn't buy again. Suspension is typical Dodge trash. Replaced all bushings twice within 50k miles and they were going out when I traded it in at 75k. If you live anywhere where salt is used during Winter months, it will Rust sooner than any other American car. Mine also had a few electrical problems. (Power window, door lock, radio, headlight short) Engine and transmission were good. Had 75k when Traded it in

Both of these cars are riding on the same chassis from the merger of Daimler Chrysler days. What makes the difference is the Hemi under the 300 which is faster to respond than the AMG. If they had more room though the Benz could easily chase him down and pass him. Both cars are great though.

Don't take this the wrong way. I like the srt8's but if both of these cars are stock. There IS something wrong with the E55. I've seen stock e55's briskly walk way from e46 m3's on the highway with 4 people in the car! 300c srt8's loses to e46 m3s most of the time because of it's weight. The E55 was beating 500hp m5's stock. So anybody who knows anything about cars should know something is wrong with that E55
A bad mass airflow meter perhaps ? Or gearbox on E55 AMG in "Comfort"not in "Sport" mode causing the E55 to take off in 2nd gear instead of 1st. SRT8 is very impressive for a massive car :)
it is amazing that chrysler can use that same E-class frame from that Benz and make it even better then the company that actually made that E55 AMG, HEMI power baby.
No they didn't, the 300 got the old w210 chassis after Mercedes moved to the later w211. The handling is worse on the 300 than the original Mercedes chassis
Aaron Powell true, but there components aren't so different from the w210 to w211. just lil updates and smaller frame and stretched body. The hemi engine uses some Mercedes inspired design as well. 2 spark plugs per each cylinder is one.

The 300c also costs half, or less than half than the E55, is by far cheaper to maintain, and the engine will most certainly last longer. Chrysler HEMI engines have always been known, since the 1950's, to be a bullet-proof engine.
the C300 with Hemi 6.1L 425HP and the transmission and axles come from the Mercedes E class since the Merger of the 2 companies. they obviously still had the traction control on because my 300 smokes tires without it on the start
JD Powell I have to say, with the right exhaust the HEMI’s sound pretty nice! I have a ‘13 Chrysler 300S AWD 5.7L HEMI, I had Headers placed on it and it sounds pretty sweet! It sucks that Chrysler quit production of the 300 HEMI’s! Last I checked Chrysler’s web site you can only get V6’s!

It's not expensive or hard to adjust your gear ratio accordingly. Or to reprogram your ecu for a bigger wheel size. For the people who want it done right anyway.
For the record the 300 SRT8 is 50k $ four door, large trunk,family car that holds its own VS forigen and domestic "performance" cars and beats quite a few of them. So to all the haters...you really shouldn't hate or brag too loudly.....you really shouldn't.
I have a Magnum. Recently met a guy at the gas station with an 02 E Class and he commented on my car. I told him about the two cars having lots of he same parts. Turned out it was more than I realized. Switches, turn signal stalk, steering wheel obvious same basic structure, dash, gauges, HVAC controls and vents, console, shifter, even position of door switches are same. Ok not appearance wise, but same place, dash is very different but you can obviously see where everything is in the same place. Transmission is the same 5 speed but upgrade for Hemi power. Rear end same as S Class. Electrical architecture same. Window motors, sunroof, seat rails, same same. Trunk and hood hinges very close. Even the headlight layout is the same, I’ll even bet the same lamps fit. BUT, the biggest difference is that wherever Mercedes/ Chrysler could pinch pennies on wear items, they did. Like BADLY! Suspension is same, but rubber parts for Chrysler/Dodge are shit! Brake assemblies look the same but are shit. And btw, it’s the whole LX lineup, Charger, 300, Magnum.

VS 5,5 liter V8 MB produces 469 horsepower and 637Nm and 700Nm. ;) If you want to compare "almost" same volume, you have to choose 6,3liter V8 MB which produces 510 horsepower and 700Nm. So, now you know - you, proud American :D And do not try to compare diesels - nobody makes diesels like German ;)

The 300C bases on the Mercedes W212. Many parts from the E-Class came into the Chrysler, since it was Daimler-Chrysler back in the days. It is really funny to think, that an american car won over a german car, when so many parts of a german car are in that Chrysler. By the way: - Mercedes W211 100-200 kilometers: 10 seconds - Chrysler 300C SRT 100-200 kilometers: 11 seconds Those americans can be happy to have some german parts in that car. Still, the way older Mercedes is quicker.
I have the 2003 E55 which is 300 pounds lighter than later models. I like the Chrysler 300 ride too but you can't compare the Chrysler with Mercedes. Mercedes can roll 6 times and keep you alive, my Chrysler ran out of gas caused a rear-end crash and almost killed me because the gauge showed 1/4 full! None of my 9 Mercedes ever let me down.

E55 *should* be faster, but they are VERY sensitive to IATs and if cooling system isn't right... it's no good, and they pull power. They will run mid-high 12s under good conditions stock though, and I'm fairly certain the 300c is no where near that
uhhh, the srt8 has a quarter mile time 2 full seconds slower than the e55. there's no way in hell that was an e55. probably an e500 with badges judging by how hard the owner is trying to make it look bad ass
When I wrote that I wasn't referring to this car in particular, I was just explaining larger wheels do increase top speed to an extent, obviously it would hafto be a pretty large wheel to see any real difference, but it's there.
e500 will give it a run too. It just has a 5.0 but it is laid out by that 7 speed tonic transmission. I thought big deal when I bought a low miles E500. But I was wrong. Mercedes are built as a cohesive machines. motor tranny suspension steering. I never owned a car like that before.
The E55 driver was too scared to give full throttle The E55 AMG and the 300C SRT8 have the same amount of horsepower and have both 6.4L V8's but the Merc's is supercharged 300c SRT8= ~640Nm of torque E55 AMG = ~700Nm of torque. the fact is that that Merc is better but the driver is just bad. or the Merc was heavier.
That dude e55 must be stock. I have a jeep srt with the 6.1 but a moded e55 amg with a pully and tune and exhaust is brutal and hard to beat. That 6.1 require a lil more money to get to the big hp club.

Actually dude, the rims being bigger does not make the circumference of the wheel any larger, just less rubber and more weight from the alloy/steel of the bigger rim. None of which assists in higher speed or acceleration. It is like having legs made of more heavy bone. Not "longer legs" as you suggest.

Shouldn't the logical comparison be between 300C SRT8 and E63 AMG? The E55 has a smaller engine, while the E63 has a 6.2L vs the 6.1L of the SRT8. The SRT8 though is way cheaper to have, the MB maintenance prices are ridiculous...
Bigger wheels do end up having a higher top speed, if your engine makes the torque to push them. In the same way someone with long legs can run faster then someone with short legs.
If anything, over-sized rims would help in top end performance. Slower off the line, but since the "benz had rims", it should have taken the SRT8 in the top end...but it didn't.
I had no idea they bumped up power to 470. Well I was talking about the 425 hp version. At that point why not try a E63 cause it's an unfair race if I read right that you are AWD as someone posted earlier. Also brochure quarters aren't attained by all. That SRT8 I wouldn't have a chance against but the prior model at 425 hp I wouldn't try a E63 and I'll be impressed

That gen e55 is fast but its older & a little slower compared to the gen after that body style. Newer body e55's are much much quicker.

I have w211 and I know this Chrysler is based on w211 diesel one even uses Benz engine! I would love to buy 300c 3.0 diesel i belive 300c is even better for cruising then my w211 love the styling of this car!
The 300C bases on the Mercedes W212. Many parts from the E-Class came into the Chrysler, since it was Daimler-Chrysler back in the days. It is really funny to think, that an american car won over a german car, when so many parts of a german car are in that Chrysler. By the way:
- Mercedes W211 100-200 kilometers: 10 seconds
- Chrysler 300C SRT 100-200 kilometers: 11 seconds
Those americans can be happy to have some german parts in that car. Still, the way older Mercedes is quicker.
Yet the 300c srt8 is only a 6.1L and it is 1 second off being e55 speeds of 100-200
What are the mods on the srt8? Stock for stock an E55 amg is blowing the doors off the srt8. Srt8 is nice af though

I have the 2003 E55 which is 300 pounds lighter than later models. I like the Chrysler 300 ride too but you can't compare the Chrysler with Mercedes. Mercedes can roll 6 times and keep you alive, my Chrysler ran out of gas caused a rear-end crash and almost killed me because the gauge showed 1/4 full! None of my 9 Mercedes ever let me down.

American muscle.!..Funny thing is that 04' E55 AMG merc's price was starting from 75.000$ when brand new, while the 04' 300c srt8 brand new costed 45.000$ full extra!Such a bargain for what it offered really lavishly,compared to other cars of the same category.Even though the merc is amazing too,it looks ordinary just like any other mercedes,on the other hand the chrysler has nothing to be jealous of,it has a beautiful,sporty,exclusive award winning style with a mixture of classic and high end design and Bentley essence that looks like a 100 grand ride,a great interior with uncompromising luxury and plenty of gadgets and most of all a powerfull,eargasmic V8 engine,like only Americans know how to do.300c is so posh and sleek at the same time.As Charlie Sheen would say its "WINNING"!

My buddy's uncle's girlfriends dad's brother has a hellcat. It is fast. I saw it start once.
E55 *should* be faster, but they are VERY sensitive to IATs and if cooling system isn't right... it's no good, and they pull power. They will run mid-high 12s under good conditions stock though, and I'm fairly certain the 300c is no where near that

Stock srt8 300c in this generation has recorded 12.8 second quarter mile time stock. It was a pretty fair race to say the least
uhhh, the srt8 has a quarter mile time 2 full seconds slower than the e55. there's no way in hell that was an e55. probably an e500 with badges judging by how hard the owner is trying to make it look bad ass

When I wrote that I wasn't referring to this car in particular, I was just explaining larger wheels do increase top speed to an extent, obviously it would hafto be a pretty large wheel to see any real difference, but it's there.

seeing the ls1 camaro there was a nice surprise.
e500 will give it a run too. It just has a 5.0 but it is laid out by that 7 speed tonic transmission. I thought big deal when I bought a low miles E500. But I was wrong. Mercedes are built as a cohesive machines. motor tranny suspension steering. I never owned a car like that before.

The E55 driver was too scared to give full throttle
The E55 AMG and the 300C SRT8 have the same amount of horsepower and have both 6.4L V8's but the Merc's is supercharged
300c SRT8= ~640Nm of torque
E55 AMG = ~700Nm of torque.
the fact is that that Merc is better but the driver is just bad.
or the Merc was heavier.

That dude e55 must be stock. I have a jeep srt with the 6.1 but a moded e55 amg with a pully and tune and exhaust is brutal and hard to beat. That 6.1 require a lil more money to get to the big hp club.

Even a 2003 E55AMG smokes a 2013 Chrysler 300c SRT8 which came out 10 years later, according to MotorTrend and every other Auto magazine.

Actually dude, the rims being bigger does not make the circumference of the wheel any larger, just less rubber and more weight from the alloy/steel of the bigger rim. None of which assists in higher speed or acceleration. It is like having legs made of more heavy bone. Not "longer legs" as you suggest.

Shouldn't the logical comparison be between 300C SRT8 and E63 AMG? The E55 has a smaller engine, while the E63 has a 6.2L vs the 6.1L of the SRT8. The SRT8 though is way cheaper to have, the MB maintenance prices are ridiculous...
Bigger wheels do end up having a higher top speed, if your engine makes the torque to push them. In the same way someone with long legs can run faster then someone with short legs.
If anything, over-sized rims would help in top end performance. Slower off the line, but since the "benz had rims", it should have taken the SRT8 in the top end...but it didn't.

I had no idea they bumped up power to 470. Well I was talking about the 425 hp version. At that point why not try a E63 cause it's an unfair race if I read right that you are AWD as someone posted earlier. Also brochure quarters aren't attained by all. That SRT8 I wouldn't have a chance against but the prior model at 425 hp I wouldn't try a E63 and I'll be impressed
