You can also look at the reticle ,see on the reticle where the poi is and dial the miles indicated right ,left ,up or down. So, if it’s 4mils high, dial down 4mils, easier that trying to hold the scope steady.
Great video, thanks! Did you test how much did the zero shift after removing and replacing the scope? I am building a .22 trainer, and would like to use the scope in my .308 for both rifles. Would that be practical?
Does anyone have a set of criteria for when you set your bipod at 45 (which Piet did at first) verses 90 (which he did after getting on paper). Does the 45 help decrease felt recoil - so he used it when he needed to keep the bore perfectly still while dialing?
I notice you shoot with your thumb on the right side of the rifle instead of wrapping around the pistol grip. That seems to be popular in PRS. What's the advantage to that grip? THANKS!!!!
Help! I am confused! My gf says this is my typical state of being ;P On the turrets on the scope is says up/down and left/right, how do I translate that to the direction I want to move the reticle ? I ask because I feel like I am always doing it wrong and most of the time I am?
So here is how I got it to see what happens, lie behind rifle and hold it dead still while looking through your optic. When you dial direction up, you’ll notice the crosshair moving down. Do that and make big adjustments, then you’ll soon learn what moves where. Hope that helps
Question: What to do if you do not have enough downward elevation adjustment in your turret, and the bullet is still shooting high? (Using a Vortex Viper Gen II on a Savage Axis, 20 MOA rail). Ie elevation is bottomed out and cannot dial it down enough.
He did not mention the mechanical mid position of both elevation and windage, this is the starting point actually and prevents working at extremes of any turret settings. The rest is cool, works very fast and is economical.
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. I have one question though(don't laugh too hard), once you get the barrel and the scope lined up correctly do you actually set the scope to zero some how? Or, is it just called zeroing and you have to remember what it is set at for 100 meters? I know you have to adjust the scope as you shoot to correct for wind, etc. Also, as far as I'm concerned you never have to apologize for the dog.
Alot of scopes have the ability to undo the turrets and move them around without moving the reticle. Once you have the scope zeroed, you would then undo the turrets, move it around so the zero is lined up on your mark then tighten them back down. I know not all scopes have this feature but it is pretty handy so you know that the zero point is set for your preferred reference range. Hope this helps.
Get two small bubble levels, put your gun on bags or whatever, put a level on the receiver, mount your gun level, put another level on the top turret of the scope, turn until level, tighten
It’s has to be the best way I think to sight a rifle in when i bought my .308 the guy my brother new at the shop used a laser bore sighter and he was like yea you should get 1 inch groups when you shoot it I shot at 12 inch target at 100 meters it was about 12-15 inches off target biggest face palm ever right there
i usually zero my rifle for 25 m, that sets me up for very precise shots out to 1200 meters. hunting rifles ive always zeroed in at 100 m. if u are really good u only need 4 rounds to set up a rifle and sometimes even less if you windage is already ok. really dope seeing a South African precision shooting channel.
Anyone else impressed with how he catches the brass on ejection?
Yeah it’s an old F Class / Target Rifle trick. Impresses the newbies when you do it. Bit like a basketball player spinning the ball on his finger 😂😂😂
@@campbelltown3065 no. This is actually useful. Spinning a ball has no advantage.

Catching the case when ejected must be the slickest thing i have ever seen!
This guy has made my week from his videos!
I bend my barrel around untill the bullet and crosshair meet. A strong vice and some propane. Easy.
Please make a video demonstrating the process and post the link here🤣🤣🤣
Did this today brilliant thanks time to watch another one ☝️😊
What adapter did you use to attach your phone to the spotting scope?
The trees there reminds me of the Cape. Myself grew up near Capetown so those trees look familiar. 😀
I use my reticle to measure how far off I am and adjust accordingly..
Groete

Any info is good info. Cheers
Great video, thanks!

What about ear protection for dogs?
Are they okay? Really dont know?
That no look grab @5:42
Jesus.
Hahahah, classic!

Use the reticle and count for adjustment of mils instead of free balling it.
Pieter what lubrication do you use in in your rifle action?
I notice you shoot with your thumb on the right side of the rifle instead of wrapping around the pistol grip. That seems to be popular in PRS. What's the advantage to that grip?

@@IMPACTSHOOTING Excellent, yes I'll do that, it's the most traight forward, thanks ;)
You pull the bullets to the target not the target to the bullets
You started on 20 mtr. I was told 25 mtr to start. What is the difference? And where can I expect to be on 100mtr with a 20mtr zero. High?
Close enough that it wont make a difference ✌🏼

Great method!
Would the Razor Gen ii sight / setup the same way or are those turrets adjusted and set differently?
I’m new to your channel. I’m also new to long range shooting. What would be to best way to level my scope ,when mounting the scope?
Get two small bubble levels, put your gun on bags or whatever, put a level on the receiver, mount your gun level, put another level on the top turret of the scope, turn until level, tighten
Bladsmith ... That’s what I did. I also used a plum bob .
What scope do you use a ffp or a sfp?
Always ffp
Cuanto bale ese rifle y si se puede transportar para US
What rifle is that?
Is tht a mrad or moa scope
extra point for the hungarian viszla! :-D
Aaaew no boet. Never the dogs fault!
Great vids boet
Do you use 223 for PRS ?
König Hansen - I was wondering that as well.
That is nice and will save time with my bolt action! What If I have semi auto hunting rifle?
and as I am watching my Vizsla is hooking his head under my arm and spilling my coffee :)
Very good video thanks a lot....
Happy hunting the enemy 😅😅😂❤❤❤❤❤

Mechanical accuracy and zeroing are two different things

If you have the right info for strelok you can zero on 100 and just dial your scope.
It's much easier too lower the cheek rest then to remove it.
Gebruik jy jou 223 ool vir kompetisie skiet of nie? Want ek het ook een😂
The “Dear San Francisco” NRA ad needs to go. That damn thing is super annoying.
Is that the Ad you got on the video?
Oom... Quick en fast is dieselfde ding😂
Nice video! Less insistent music would be nice.
