      Well Gary, I cant deny its popularity, but to say it is the greatest show of all time, does do a disservice to newsnight, antiques roadshow, royal variety performance, countryfile et al. Not to mention the queens speech and parliamentary broadcasts which we all agree are wonderfully enlightening, informative and awe inspiring. The BBC truly is inspirational and has been for hundreds of years

    I’m originally from ‘Ull and at the time never knew this was been filmed. Me and a small group of friends were in the town centre on the day of the Lord Mayors Parade. We were walking through the crowds watching the floats go by when my friend noticed David Jason watching the show from an office doorway. He told us when we had passed so we nipped back to look and yes there he was but he soon legged it. Half an hour later we were passing Prospect Centre shopping centre and there was Nick Lyndhurst and a friend walking towards us. We were in disbelief as we didn’t know about the filming. The strange thing is they were both dressed in their Only Fools cloths Del in his red kind of puffer jacket with flat cap and Rodney in his camouflage with jeans. Looking back I wish I’d had the guts to talk to them, if they had wanted to haha.

      Yeah, it's irritating. David Jason speaks more authentically. People used to speak posh as they thought it gave them credit.

    I've got the dvd box set but quite a lot of the episodes are edited it tells you on the back of the box set that for contractual reasons certain edits have been made. It totally spoils the box set all together. I think the BBC should re release the box set again uncut and remastered

      Most of the episodes on iTunes and Amazon are uncut. The only 2 I noticed with cuts are "A Royal Flush" which John Sullivan edited himself, because he wasn't happy with the way Del is portrayed and "Yuppy Love" for music copyright.

    They need to go back to the original master tapes of Miami Twice and Hull and Back and scan them into Bluray quality or 4k.
    (they were only ones shot on film apparently)

    • @thebossman80s
      @thebossman80s 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i have some information about miami twice you might find interesting. it was originally in two parts, the first part which took place in england was shot on video tape, then the second part was shot on film in miami. that why it cant quite be remastered because the beginning wont match the quality of the end.
