Incredible, the skills on display when he segments the chicken are fantastic to watch. He seems like a really entertaining chef too, it would be a pleasure to watch him cook.
having broken down chickens for yakitori myself (I'm just an amateur learning), I was dying when I saw how he breaks down the chicken. when it did the neck I almost cried, it always takes me FOREVER, he just flies through and I'm sure with infinitely better results. a true master
he uses amazing knifes and sharpens each day before he starts.
@@miriamberman5581 true. but I'm sure he would leave me in the dust even with a plastic knife! 😂
I love his playful and professional spirit. It's very humble, down to earth, and he's got a great attitude and sense of humor~
The chef has been in this profession for 17 years, yet he said that he experiences nervousness every day. The art of preparing Yakitori is no joke.
Chef Kono is a living legend. One day I will eat his food!
Am amazed (and grateful) at the generosity of these chefs sharing their processes
Because it doesn't matter if you know what they do. You will not be able to replicate it.
It's like Roubuchon, Jean George, Alsatian.. They all have cookbooks published with exact recipes. You can't replicate the restaurant level even if you tried
Yes, dedications and alot of hard works are put into those meals.@@Arrynek01
Passionate, humble, and talented. Well done Kono San.
I always so happy when I see people like this being successful at what makes them happy!
Heart, soul, body... everything comes together as a Japanese artisinal master, a sensei, creates...
He is still nervous, means he cares so much about his art and his reputation; means he is not jaded, not complacent after years and years of experience and honing of his skills.
Chef Kono, 万歳!
I love watching people that are passionate about what they do. It's almost magical watching them talk about it and then doing it, and this was no exception! Would love to go and experience it first hand.
ATS has perfected his craft, just amazing! What they didn't show is the cleanup, ordering of chicken, spices, charcoal Etc... Don't forget about paying his bills to run his restaurant as well as payroll for his staff. He does all of this with only 37 minutes of sleep a day.
Love what he said about cooking feeling like dancing and keeping the tempo too totally relate!
Very smart to get the Amish chicken. I grew up near Amish country and their chickens are the absolute best. This chef is very charming. Thank you for this videos!
This was incredible! So much craft and dedication; beautiful to see in an increasingly automated, digital world. His love for yakitori moved me.
Cooking with rhythm and soul, I would watch him over and over again. Hope to visit his restaurant one day. Arigato Gozaimasu! 🌅🎍
Yakitori got me in here, but I stayed for the chef's passion and style.
Great episode BA!
Anyone else low key crushing?
"Which is your favorite dance or being a chef?"
"I cannot pick. My brains always on the beat even when cooking."
This was a great video. Such a skilled and passionate chef
Incredible. Very few cooking demonstrations make me as hungry as this one. Grilled chicken parts. Yahoo!!!

One of most inspiring and amazing videoes ive seen in years :)
Jaques Pepin: "here's how you break-down a chicken"
Atsushi Kono: "here's how to turn a chicken into 500 distinct cuts of meat."
This is gold for people who want to learn food stuff... Re!

I loved this guy. Gotta appreciate that passion for chicken!
Wow the kitchen is immaculate. You could eat off the floor..😊
japan has that incredible mentality, like its so common in japan while other places usually only have this level of cleanliness in higher end restaurants but even then not always
Wonderful! ✨💯

Kano San has grown - a lot more graceful. Well played!
That chicken pâté course should be a Michelin star by itself at least... dude is cooking 16 courses dedicated to the same ingredient?! Holyshit.
That's absolutely mind bending what you've achieved with a chicken what a class chef 👨🍳 👏
Chef.. I loved your presentation. And admired your respect to food. As an usual Japanese way which I admire. Great great. 👍

this is incredible. Chef Kono is master. LOVE IT
This guy is legit 👌🏽💯
Would love to try this someday!
The master of all yakitori chicken skewers 🔥
I have watched this video several times..... i am building a grill for hot and fast cookinmg, and Yakitori is one of the things i want to learn. Amazing technique and skill !!!!
For me. Controlling charcoal grill is one of the highest level of cooking. It is an expertise which most people even don’t recognize. Very very difficult to maintain. 👏🙏
Yakitori is one of the big reasons I’d love to visit Japan. Honestly the only country I’d like to visit
I made myself my own yakitori BBQ, and I couldn’t be prouder or more satisfied with the result …. but I run it with maple charcoal. This chef almost convinced me to order the bichotan charcoal, but I had to realize once more that this is out of my reach. You would not believe how expensive it is to get the stuff in Canada…
Keep on rocking
The fire Bender of the kitchen
Chef cuting chicken with his knife skill it so entertaining to watch
This is incredible
Oh!!! un grand maitre du Akitori ,bravo
Chef Kono you inspire me
I love chicken too! Looks really delicious!!!
I want to know the Playlist he's got going on in the kitchen. Hype, I'm sure
My brain is always on the beat 🔥
this chef rocks
Amazing!!!!!!
Awesome Chef!!
His knife skills are fiya!!
I screenshotted the "knee" skewer with the label. It is now my phone wallpaper
THE BEST YAKITORI CHEF OF OUR GENERATION
reminds me of a hotpot restaurant ran by a former butcher, dude had the whole pig broken down into so many special cuts, some pieces were so expensive as the whole pig only had one of sorts which is also unavailable in the wider markets as usually the butcher eats it himself
This guy’s hysterical! :O
amazing chef
this chef is so fun and takes his craft seriously
