I really liked my stepdad. I called him my faux pa. I’m lucky because he wasn’t crazy and was realistic, but also since my dad passed away there was nobody really for him to compete with. It didn’t feel like he ruined our family. He never felt like he needed to power trip, and be the boss of everything so I got very lucky he was significantly less crazy than my mom. Me and my mom both play video games so he wouldn’t dare screw with that

I honestly think the male parents have a bad rap because on some occasions they’re either abusive or they’re idiots Who demand respect and don’t give respect to other people honestly if I was this kid I would probably sue the stepdad and have him arrested for property damage because he’s not legally a parent I mean biologically and he’s basically spouting bull crap and honestly smashing your kids electronic is kind of the most stupid thing to ever do sure you might get a little bit annoyed with how they use it a little bit too often but downright destroying it is kind of stupid you basically just broke something that probably causes like maybe 100 something dollars or $1000 which to me I would deeply regret it
What I hate about step parents is that they assume control of the other parent who doesn’t live with you anymore, I get remarrying after a parental death but you can’t just marry someone and say “oh hey I’m your new parent, you listen to me now!” It annoys the crap outta me that there are people who will start treating you like crap and blame the stuff on your devices or whatnot
I struggled with something similar to this because I had a abusive step parent and he would always be like oh ur on the laptop too much even when I was just chilling and nobody else cared it was a issue and how I was always anti social to the point that I was being called it by my siblings bc they would side with him (btw I’m not anti social for not partying every other day ) and what’s funny about the whole thing is that now I am with someone and we are both into gaming and she is just a amazing partner lmao
Oh yes, because breaking my step-son's stuff and not taking responsibility for my own behavior towards him will definitely get his respect now. If anyone did that to my Switch or any game console I owned, that console wouldn't be the only thing going over that railing.

I didn't have good grades and even if I needed help,the teachers would just tell me to do everything myself. Phones were not allowed there yet bc it was pre-pandemic. They called me out for just existing.
