Apologies for your accent and speech recognition not mixing well - suffice to say the speech recognition was trained mostly on Canadian (and American) accents, however we'll look into the pronunciation of the word 'Fire' and 'All', and will add an option to disable the 'All' command (probably by default - it's too dangerous to be left alive!). We did include an experimental UK speech model that *might* be better suited to Australian accents (found in options menu).
Good on you Dev’s. Glad to see you guys care and are aware of the problems Rimmy is facing. His accent to me makes his “four” and “all” sound similar, so i liked his suggestion that once you make a command like “dog” you can’t go back a voice line.

the old phonetic alphabet is so fucked, the NATO standard is different for every single letter i'm pretty sure. Also the way you say numbers is different, with things like won, tree, fower, fife. And the hatred for the V sound except in victor and november even minor things like changing fox to foxtrot makes radio calls so much easier. Especially when someone is on the "weak and barely readable" scale of coms

Rimmy your “four” and “all” are equally deep and my human brain can just hear enough of a difference. Listening to a Aussie say those words back to back makes me realize how the machine messed up. Especially because it was only tested on Canadian and American accents.
Yeah, I think the software is reading the vowel sound rimmy makes in "four" as the beginning of "all" as the vowel sound rimmy makes for both sound alike, and it tends to be vowels in different accents that voice software gets stuck on in my experience.
Yeah, part of the problem is that he is an Aussie with an Aussie accent speaking into a system developed by a Canadian with a Canadian accent. So the voice controls were probably optimized with American and Canadian accents

The Captain realized very quickly he needed to adjust the crew's shifts so that he either had every comm station manned by the Georgians or no comm stations manned by the Georgians, because there wasn't a snowball's chance in Hell of anyone not from Georgia understanding them when their accents got thick.
I'm very interested in seeing how they implement coop. I can already imagine the chaos of keeping track of the other player's units and trying to coordinate with them.

Now imagine this game in VR with you having to deal with the surroundings in and outside of your tent. Like maybe you can look out from your tent and hear gunfire and bombardments in the distance and sometimes the sound of what's happening in the background may distract the player or they might have to yell into the radio for the radio to even pick up their voice over the background. Or perhaps the base is being attacked by the enemy but since you're in the middle of an operation, you can't afford to leave the command tent so maybe occasionally an enemy soldier might try to shoot at you as you're issueing commands and you have to draw a pistol and kill him AND try to keep track of what's happening in the operation. The entire idea of this game in VR has a BUTT TON of potential!
There isn't a lot of games where you play as a Canadian, I love the representation. My hometown's local reserve unit, the Loyal Edmonton Regiment, got some love too. They are still active today, and were involved in the battle for Ortona as well. Super cool to see

I voiced the Maritimer voice set for the soldiers (Specifically Charlie at around the 10 minute mark in the video, and Baker at 14:28ish.), and I got an absolute kick out of you watching this. I figured you'd have a really big hurdle trying to use the voice commands being an Aussie. You adopting a "Southern US" accent just made me grin and laugh like a goofball. Seems the devs have responded to you with removing the "All" command. Maybe an "Everyone" having it be three syllables to be pronounced will make it recognizable. I am somewhat curious what a Newfie accented person would be like playing this game. Looks like you're having as much fun playing this as much as I did voicing in this; hope that the voice command hiccups didn't make it too tedious for ya though! Not gonna lie though fucking died at the end with the "letters to home" bit lmao

i LOVE when games pay so much attention to the historical detail. (like all the vids, and literally the entire field manual even tho about 2% is related to gameplay) Thats really cool shit and i actually learned a few things from this! You wouldnt need school if tv and games did this more

Might be a good idea for the Devs to enable you to submit to the game recordings of your voice for it to reference a player's voice. Kinda like how when you set up a Voice recognition option on Win10 Cortana (other smart assistants are available). i.e. you go through a Voice activation setup which gets you to pronounnce words that are commands.

I really like this. It's a creative game that actually takes voice commands. A thing that I'd imagine will be more common in the future. I think you were a bit harsh because there's not really any good voice recognizing technology games out there. It's kind of like when games started becoming 3d. It's an unknown genre and there are gonna be a lot of silly mistakes.
Radio etiquette in the military has a set pronunciation for numbers Rimmy. So for example four would be pronounced fo-wer, two is too, five is fife, nine is niner. Not sure how commonwealth armies do it, but that is how we did it in the US Navy.

Not only the beach was made of littles rocks, they used the new Churchill tanks that got stuck (and the germans tought theses were old prototypes tank the british didn't wanted). The mens had no real support and were in insufficient number. However, the goal of that Raid was to determine if it was possible to directly attack a City by the sea and what were the options. The answer of Dieppe made the D-Day possible. So it didn't went well for the Raid itself... But it worked perfectly for the rest of the war.
And even on D-Day the allies were lucky. German high command (mostly Hitler) though it was a false flag operation and left the tanks in the bases. Many DD-Shermans were lost to the rough sea conditions and the airborne troops were not even near to their dropzones. Good thing it was succesful, or Europe would have been hit by the nukes

In case they don’t have any of these voice commands, they should implement them: “Proceed with caution” Units take longer to arrive at set destination. However, they can detect enemies and spot ambushes easier. “On the double” Units move at twice the speed, but are at a higher risk of being found and ambushed.

Understatement of the year.
Not only the beach was made of littles rocks, they used the new Churchill tanks that got stuck (and the germans tought theses were old prototypes tank the british didn't wanted).
The mens had no real support and were in insufficient number.
However, the goal of that Raid was to determine if it was possible to directly attack a City by the sea and what were the options.
The answer of Dieppe made the D-Day possible.
So it didn't went well for the Raid itself...
But it worked perfectly for the rest of the war.
And even on D-Day the allies were lucky. German high command (mostly Hitler) though it was a false flag operation and left the tanks in the bases. Many DD-Shermans were lost to the rough sea conditions and the airborne troops were not even near to their dropzones. Good thing it was succesful, or Europe would have been hit by the nukes

In case they don’t have any of these voice commands, they should implement them:
“Proceed with caution”
Units take longer to arrive at set destination. However, they can detect enemies and spot ambushes easier.
“On the double”
Units move at twice the speed, but are at a higher risk of being found and ambushed.
This would work really well in VR.

I just imagine the relative or spouse receiving a letter with a black ribbon saying "ah fuck, i didn't thought I was doing two of these". Imagine the grief and the sorrow.
