      @@TumbleweedRvLifeper the rules, it has to be scannable. Once the full rules go into effect next year, an ISO compliant chip is required. Be sure to read the rules on the CDC website. If you need a new microchip, you will need a new rabies vax as any previous ones will not be valid. Of course, this could all change so stay informed. We spent $160and delayed our travel into Canada by a week in May when the rules were announced to be compliant for our return only to have them change on us.

    Before I retired, I was partners with a Ford dealer. Together we formed a separate company in order to rent Ford trucks. With an average rental fleet of about 125 trucks, half were diesel. The 6.7L was amazing with power to spare. Problems with this engine were almost nonexistent. You’ll get a few more miles per gallon, although diesel usually costs a few cents more. Also all maintenance (oil changes, fuel filters, air filters, etc) will cost about three times more than a gasoline engine. That being said, depending upon what you’re towing the additional power may be well worth it. Hope you enjoy it. Blessings!

    I live in Mexico and come Into the US regularly through the Lukeville border crossing. I asked the border security guys about this. They told me it's not their job and they won't be enforcing it. Also, they will not bother us about our dogs, and they have more important things going on.

  • @On-down-the-road
    @On-down-the-road หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Good to know about the Dog chip requirements. Also I believe you will be happy with diesel.the power, and torque plus engine break. Everyone says maintenance is twice as costly. This is true, just nowhere near as frequent as gasoline. So it works out about the same. At 4 years old it will need glow plugs, and injectors. Plan for it and it won't be such a surprise when it cost $4k. If you keep up with breaks, 15k west of the great divide, 18k to the east. Pads are cheep, rotors are expensive. So if the pads have 25% left just change them.

    Jason - I had a 2020 F-250 with the 7.3L engine and over the 4 years I had it the seal on the rear diff blew out, the transmission went out and had to be replaced, the same issues you are having with the lifters and the cams, I got that and the engine finally went. Ford replaced it but it never got the fuel economy they are saying the "new" 7.3L are getting. Last month I traded it for a King Ranch F-250 Tremor with the High Output diesel. You will not regret getting a diesel. Let me know what you got, very exciting. Good video, as usual. We are in TN and agree, make it simpler for veterans. Brian

    Whoaaaa Jason, a diesel?? Awesome! You’re going to love the smooth and quiet power and will find eventually that you can’t live without the engine braking feature. You’re probably going find it more convenient to fuel at the semis islands when your hooked up to your trailer too. Probably not going to like the cost of service/oil changes though. Your fuel costs will likely come out as a wash though: higher per gallon cost but higher mileage when towing. Wow, this is really big for you guys. Bet you’re gonna like it - a lot.

    I really advise you get a Banks peddle Monster installed after changing out the CP4 pump. Night and day difference in performance. The new DCR pumps are worth the 2000 dollar investment. If you can’t afford that yet I suggest using Stanadyne fuel additive and injector cleaner. I’ve used this stuff since my diesel was a baby and when I got it exchanged with the DCR my cp4 looked pretty much brand new at 80000 miles. I just didn’t want to take the chance of running that pump any longer. 80000 has been pretty much the mileage that the cp4s last. Ohh I think the other reason way my pump lasted so long is because I only use Loves fuel. 2 reasons for using only one fuel source. One if you do get contamination in the fuel you know who to go to. 2 I just like how clean their truck stops are. I know it’s more expensive but with the TDS fuel card you save a ton. Sorry for the lengthy post. Hope this helps.

    You’re in a unique position to be able to report from an owners perspective just what (if any) the differences are between towing each of your RVs. You’ll have similar trucks towing the same RVs. Was the gas truck just as strong as you thought it was after towing with the diesel?

      That was nice of them but proof of rabies vaccination IS actually a requirement to enter into Canada with your dog. There is no current requirement to show evidence of rabies vaccination when entering the US from a low-risk country, however, following the revision of the rules on July 22. Most CBP Agents seem pretty confused on this issue, however, and in the spirit of "don't be the problem," it's good to have at hand, should one (erroneously) ask for it.
