And then the network refuses to play them for two months because we were ACTUALLY supposed to fall in love with the other sci-friday show 'First Wave' because it was cheaper...I mean because it was an executive's brainchild...wait no, because it was dark and mysterious. Seriously, miss these on premier night and sometimes it would take a while for them to come back around, but First Wave got 3 marathons of itself during its FIRST year. Sadly, that show WAS decent, but it died ignobily so that Farscape...could then be upstaged by newcomer SG-1.
@@SageofStars Or like when Horror last showed Farscape, they didn't show the whole thing, let's jus say! They only stuck with one side of the crew divide featuring Crichton's duplicate and they skipped Part 2 of Peacekeeper Wars! Well done, Horror! Well done!
@@CD-Gaming Weirdly, Amazon of all places has a streaming channel(constantly playing) that has farscape on it at all times. The same with TMNT and Transformers, which I find interesting.
It was a bold move to do a trilogy of episodes for this story arc but it was the best choice. I love how the story kept revealing more and more layers, getting Scorpius involved could have been a desperate movie by writers but it worked. This is just the tip of the iceberg with guest actors but I love seeing Braca. Natira was an amazing character too, so many layers and the makeup was fantastic.
The reveal of Rygel as the grease man seems obvious in retrospect but I was too busy being distracted by the comparison to Han Solo being encased in carbonite during the earlier scene.
This plan makes a lot of sense in a wider context. Shadow Repositories in the unknown territories, as stated, are basically holding vaults for villains. Everyone knows they're there, but no one really insures their security. Basically, as Stark points out, these are the only people who you can steal from and get away with it since they spent all their money on ground based security/defenses...which makes it hard to steal from them in the first place but why quibble over details? I do like, BTW, that they didn't hold Stark back for too long so we might forget about him. There's one episode between this and the Ugly Truth, which means, thanks to scheduling, he was away long enough for people to miss him, but not enough to not remember his details. That being said, he did imbalance the cast quite a bit, and his 'spirit powers' ended up being one of those things they had to write around for a while, even doing a whole episode '...Different Destinations' to show why they don't use it often, given there it accidentally caused a load of unaliving.
My thanks to YT for recommending Die Me, Dichotomy instead of this episode after The Ugly Truth... at least it wasn't another one of those AI SF fanfic videos that keep popping up in my list!
I really do not like Stark. No deep thoughts here, just actively dislike him and that fact that Dargo ends up blaming Crichton for Stark’s fuckups here.
I enjoyed his first appearance, but afterwards... "Yay! I remember him" is drowned out by "but he's Stark." He is, depending on the story, an annoying complication, a _deus ex machina,_ or too crazy to help. Oh, and stepping on Zhaan's mystic schtick, which isn't necessarily wrong except that the mystic stuff is too undeveloped to support a distinction between their abilities.
John Crichton. The Universes stress toy.
MAN that moment with Stark's mask talking is still freaky.
I remember this episode being awesome, but also brutal.
Welcome to part 1 of 5 of the transition to season 3. Yes, 5 parts! When farscape goes epic, they don't do half measures.

Just found out that Paul Goddard who plays Stark played one of the Agents in the original Matrix.
Braca is the receptionist at the restaurant in Matrix Reloaded as well.
