I was in China a couple months ago in March this year visiting my in-laws as they just got back from India not too long ago. I asked them how was their vacation there in India? They told me some of the cities they had visited reminded them of LA. Wow, totally speechless. Joel thanks for sharing and I always try to look you up on TH-cam whenever I get a chance as you have the best coverage and thorough investigation that no one else has.
The is the same state pushing environmentally friendly policies. Keep that in mind.

I live in Los Angeles and this is spreading all over the city , from downtown to Beverly Hills ! Homeless tents are parked right next to apartments that go from 2.5g- 6G$ per month !
Keep raising rents, and general cost of living, while keeping wages low, and pretty soon we'll all be homeless and spreading typhus and bubonic plague to the rest of the nation.

This wasn't my experience living in LA. Of course that was in the 90's and the last time it was run by Republicans under Mayor Riordan.
Actually, you can pretty much pinpoint when this happened. I will always look at Los Angeles as post Prop 47 and pre Prop 47. Once 47 passed in 2014 it was all over. Seriously, before that the homeless problem was pretty much contained to Skid Row. So basically if you really want to point fingers at any one person for this, all we have to do is look at Kamala Harris

Note that in history, when imbeciles or ethically impaired hacks tackle a problem... their answer is to stop reporting it. Think Ceausescu and how he "solved" infant mortality problems: delay issuance of birth certificates by several weeks to make communist health care look better than what was just destroyed. In the case of prop 47, I'm sure trial lawyers thought they would solve overloaded dockets by eliminating a swath of felonies. So today, we've sunk lower than asking "what is truth?" to something more virulent birthed by the same spirit: what is crime? We do know this: many of the hacks that helped foist this on the public now have to work in a zone the CDC should corridor off and declare a biohazard. And by all means, the media is complicit - the timing of stories speaks volumes. I live in the suburbs of Dallas, TX. Development is pushing bobcats out of their habitats. Maybe you could come round them up and take them to LA. Soon, there won't be a rat problem.
I was born and raised in CA. I left about 25 years ago and things were getting bad back then. The pollution, the crime, the wall-to-wall people. The idea that L.A. is a great place to live made it an impossible place to afford if you are middle class. So now it's turning into a rrat infested trash heap. That's nothing new. My ex lives there.
Wow I went to California back in the 90s and it was such a clean city great shopping restaurants clubs. I will stay on the East coast so happy I moved out of LA
Mann, it took the city about 5 dayz to collect a *dead cat* on an island in front of my house... I actually watched it swell up like a balloon. And it was Summer - Barf! I had to call a second time...
If the Democrats get elected in 2020 expect the entire United States to start looking a lot like Los Angeles.

And people pay 2000-3000 a month rent in this heap of a city? 500 to 600 tops. If the property managers balk you say get out there and start cleaning up the typhus heaps and maybe I will give you the rest of the rent.
The expensive rent prices are the reason so many people are on the streets in the first place..
That's ridiculous to let that trash go uncollected. People of Los Angeles are paying high tax dollars for service that they're not getting. That mayor needs to be removed and someone else put in that position if he cant handle it. After regular collections of the trash and sweeping the streets and despising rat poison on a regular basis this problem should be taken care of. It's going to take diligence and staying on top of things to fix this problem. This is not an issue that you can turn your head on or sweep it under the rug. The homeless are definitely not going to like it but it's something that needs to be done for everyone's health and safety

this is a multi-stage problem. I don't see the very people complaining about the problem taking their own trash responsibilities seriously. People and companies need to prep their trash much better before disposal. Like the green can for yard stuff. The food industry needs a dedicated can for Bio only. Next dumpster and trash cans need to be redesigned so animals and people can't get to the contents only the trash trucks in the act of collection should be able to unlock the cans at the time of collection. Also, business/home should have the right and responsibility to keep the outside of their property trash free. The sidewalk should be the property of the building, not the city.
