This is a very nice teaching tool/ etc. By taking one chord and exploring its Options and actually teaching music theory at the same time, You Are On To Something Here. Thanks Ira
Tom, this is really cool. I really like this type of digging deeper lesson. Quick but super informative. I can follow the theory but need to practice more.
Yes, 1,2,5 is a sus2. I think Tom wishes to avoid confusing newcomers to theory. By lowering the 3rd you are suspending the 2nd, which seems counterintuitive in that "suspension" in this case is lowering a note. To make matters more convoluted, a sus2 chord is by it construction a 2nd inversion of a sus4. (ABE) Asus2, (EAB) Esus4. So by calling it "A2" we avoid semantic confusion.
Not only are you a great teacher, but you're an excellent student as well! You just got all "A's!"
That would've never happened in high school.
Really nice and simple, with really pretty chords. Very motivating.
Hi Tom, thank-you, very helpful as usual! Love the slo-mo intro, very dramatic!!!
Thanks Bruce.
Just fabulous. Love the theory provided.

Am2 - "Belladonna" by UFO.
Love this... Did you almost say "What would Alex do???" When you were letting us know what other Minor Chords you are going to show us in the future.
Haha, no just "what else will I do?" I have no idea.
led Zeppelin tangerine starts on a minor and goes to A sus4. very nice sound.
Good one Michael.
👍
A2(no3rd)-wouldn't that be Asus2

I've heard it called that. Asus2 might have a C# in it. I would call that A2 though. So both may be correct.
