Ok, on the TX I can change it via TBS Agent Lite menu option - but how does it change on RX? Will it just automatically scan all bands to find where TX is transmitting, and use that band after bind? How does that work?
Yep - just found this out when I got my Tango. Emailed TBS and they got back super quickly and told me I was at the wrong frequency. I was going nuts trying to figure out why I was getting critical rf alerts within 50 yards.
hi Josh, right after i change frequency to 915 coz im located in australia, i try to bind again and everytime power up and press bind the receiver turn solid red. please help!
Not failsafing because I am rural and the closest tower is almost 5 miles. :p But, I will be checking my modules, as being a ham radio op I prefer to stick to "legal".
I purchased a new Mobula7 HDzero quadcopter. It has failsafed on me three times at close and farther distances. Is it possible that there is an ELRS setting causing the same issues. I have a dozen other quads on ELRS and have had zero issues. Only with this new quad. I did update the firmware on the flight controller and have yet to test it, I was wondering, since the quad is set to CRSF in Betaflight, if this could also be the case!
Greetings from CE country. Was pleasantly surprised that my Tango 2 came with 868 MHz Open mode already from factory. Seems TBS certainly are paying attention to region where they ship their radios. Wish they would already have compiled OpenTX Companion with FreedomTX support for download.
I've got a TangoII Pro that's set properly, and still suffers from short range intermediate failsafes. It blips in and out, ultimately causing a crash. I don't have this issue on my full size crossfire setup. I've gone through and tried updating, and downgrading my TangoII Crossfire micro TX, and Freedom TX, and the mhz settings are correct too, all still to no avail. I like the form factor of the Tango II, but I don't care for all the random issues I've had with it. If I have it placed anywhere near metal with a magnetic force, or anything of the like, the hall gimbals will go batshit crazy. The battery voltage reads whatever it feels like, and these issues have been the prevalent throughout the old and new main boards.
This helped but I’m still failsafing at under 1mile out. Gona try putting the immortal t antenna on the front of quad instead of rear hopefully it helps.
I live in Europe and use 915 MHz because telemetry works much more stable than on 868 MHz. Even close to mobile network transmitters it works just fine on 915 MHz
Can you repeat the switch for multiple quads, by having one rx connected change from 868 to 915. Unplug that quad, change tx back to 868, start up anther quad. Will it still be bound?
Joshua, can you please please help me? My air unit lost its bind to the goggles and now won’t connect to Assistant. I’ve tried holding the bind button on startup but nothing. It’s BRICKED. Please help
Please do not forget: Cell phone providers can locate devices quite accurately with their own system via triangulation. This also includes sources of interference in the cellular network. All within seconds. I heard some time ago that there have allegedly already been cases of high fines. (This is said to have happened here in Germany. Here the frequency bands are exactly the other way around, so 915Mhz is NOT allowed here) A higher transmission power is not nearly as bad as an incorrect frequency band. Higher transmission power may interfere with other private radio systems, i.e. you may annoy others, but the risk of being caught is relatively low. With a frequency band that interferes with the cell phone network, or even worse, other radio systems such as radar, aircraft radio, etc., the authorities are unfortunately no longer amused.
Oh, thanks for this! I put it in the 868CE setting without thinking about it (I'm in the EU) and I do have telemetry, so i don't know what's the difference. I'm gonna need to dig a bit deeper!
Wonder if this is why there's been several videos lately with random failsafes. Seems odd that a device would ship with the wrong settings for the region it was sold in, but i guess maybe depends on where it was imported from.
It's not a big deal to rebind them. Just put the module into binding mode then power up the RX. It should auto-detect without having to push the button (but not 100%).

The battery voltage reads whatever it feels like, and these issues have been the prevalent throughout the old and new main boards.
hello joshua, i would like to know, why my tbs tango II got problem to bind with tbs crossfire
Yep, after a sold my 2nd one, he told me why I was always getting “telemetry lost” non stop, it was this.
This helped but I’m still failsafing at under 1mile out. Gona try putting the immortal t antenna on the front of quad instead of rear hopefully it helps.
Nice shirt!
I'm in Jamaica. What should I be setting my frequency to?
I live in Europe and use 915 MHz because telemetry works much more stable than on 868 MHz. Even close to mobile network transmitters it works just fine on 915 MHz
Do not do that. You are interfering with the cell network.
Hi, how do i make sure the settings are set? im not sure how to re bind the quad, can someone help? not finding info either
Hey Joshua
Is the dji fpv controller v1 has more chance to interference?
Can you repeat the switch for multiple quads, by having one rx connected change from 868 to 915.
Unplug that quad, change tx back to 868, start up anther quad. Will it still be bound?
How do you set the region and mh setting on the rx? Or does it only need to be set on the tx?
I’m glad I realized this a few months ago for myself
Joshua, can you please please help me? My air unit lost its bind to the goggles and now won’t connect to Assistant. I’ve tried holding the bind button on startup but nothing. It’s BRICKED. Please help
Assuming input voltage is good (9v or higher), I would just have to contact DJI support and see if it is covered under warranty.
I can verify this. Broke the arm on a brand new 4-in. Thankfully I was over grass.
Hello, my friend, can you run two crossfires at the same time with two different planes, if so how to set it please? Thank you.
You can do that just by binding two receivers. They will both work. But it will be hard to control the plane's.
All FrSky transmitters are EU(LBT) in Europe, (or should be), and we still have telemetry.
Please do not forget:
Cell phone providers can locate devices quite accurately with their own system via triangulation. This also includes sources of interference in the cellular network. All within seconds.
I heard some time ago that there have allegedly already been cases of high fines. (This is said to have happened here in Germany. Here the frequency bands are exactly the other way around, so 915Mhz is NOT allowed here)
A higher transmission power is not nearly as bad as an incorrect frequency band.
They don't make different SKU for different regions. It's a business decision.
I learned this the hard way when I first got my Tango2. Luckily I was over an open grass field.
What's the keystroke to reset. I accidentally click on fcc, darn roller wheel is to blame
my 915 options are RACE, AU or MHZ which one of AU or MHZ is AU for autralia ? so I should pick MHZ ?
Joshua, I'm traveling to Italy this weekend. I need to set it 868mhz. Is this enought for penetration in door flights? I dont need a fail safe
so if I have more than one quad with TBS RX, and I don't want to rebind them all, I have to power them all when I make the change of frequency ?
It's not a big deal to rebind them. Just put the module into binding mode then power up the RX. It should auto-detect without having to push the button (but not 100%).
@@JoshuaBardwell .. that's right .. I have seen your youtube video for binding the Rx without pushing any button .. that worked for my quads
I can not thank you enough for this.
If I accidentally set the region. What's that keystroke you mentioned, or did I somehow miss that?

Under the Max Power setting it has 1W but I thought the Tango 2 could only go up to 500mW?
Tango 2 can only go up to 500 mW that is correct.
