Omg! Jane is wearing her parachute! As always Love this 16mins video as it tells the story well ... A day in the life of a jump pilot... she's tired ..let's reward her with our Like!... btw i noticed the plane tends to float up a bit once the jumper jump out of the plane... ? Also u landed further down the runway? During PPL exam is it pertinent to land on the exact spot?
haha thank you so much! Again, always looking forward for your comment! Yes SMASH THE LIKE BUTTON! You have good eyes there, yes the plane tends to float up since I have the trim up a lot as the jumpers shift their position, once they are out, the trim is out for the new weight and balance, so the plane nose attitude will go up since I trim up. I talked about the landing spot during the approach and landing of my first flight, but the audio is unusable. The reason is that Darwin has such a long runway, and the taxiway for exit to 2/3 down the runway, so if pilot land at the beginning of the runway, they will need to taxi the plane for a very long distance which will take a while, and all traffic will be held up. For other airport, you will need to request long landing, but for Darwin, it is kind of a common practice for everyone to landing in the middle for small plane like mine, so no need to request. For PPL or CPL, you are expected to land on your nominated landing spot within 2 metres either side of the centreline, within 60m(CPL) / 120m(PPL) from the spot.
@@studybeforeflight thank you jane for the knowledge... hoping the pandemic will go away soon and i can come australia for flight training... camping here for your next video...cheers!
watching this video is so satisfying. You are so cool and calm. this is the first time I saw how the plane get fuel filled - surprisingly from the wings! lol!
NICE!!! I bet you enjoyed your first solo nav, I certainly loved mine. Good luck with your exam, I am sorry I couldn't make videos about any CPL exams, things just got into way.
It is not hard to get the Jump Pilot Authorisation to be a jump pilot, but it is hard to say if it is easy or not to get a job. Just like any other pilot job, it is all about patient, timing, luck and connection.
@@studybeforeflight I defenitely think so. That's why I get stressed out about thinking about choosing the country where I learn my IFR and CPL... The best way might be getting them in AUS to build my experience and connection. But it costs a lot more than getting one here where I live since I have a job to support myself. learning aviation is not easy 🤑
Yea, I know the struggle. Money is always the biggest hurdle for a lot of people. You could work part time in Australia while studying aviation, but only limit to 20 hours per week for international student. It would not be able to cover the whole cost. Maybe look into U.S., it is way cheaper and faster to get pilot licence, but I am not sure about the ease of getting work visa and a job afterward over there.
being a jump pilot looks like so much fun! Also what plane is that? (edit: I just realised the upload date on this video haha guess I was a little late 😆)
@@studybeforeflight yea 😂 cool i’ve just been looking into seperate air crafts, Cessna’s seem to pop up the most I assume that means they’re a popular choice for pilots. Thank you 💕
Hi, which cadet programme are you referring to? At the moment, all Australian airlines cadet programmes are only available for Australian, even so, due to the current situation, they slow down or even stop the recruitment. Most cadet programmes from any countries look for their local people first, just like Cathay Pacific only recruit Hong Kong people for the cadet entry, they do open to the world for advanced entry once you have CPL and meet their minimum flight time requirement. So, I don't think there is any cadet programme in Australia for international student.
Hi Jane I'm talking about candet program that do partnership with airlines for selection and recruitment . not sure like indigo provide (letter of intent to employ ) so that's what I'm referring to.
Thanks for sharing..., how long does it take you to complete a flight, I also fly skydivers down in PVR Mexico and It takes me betwen 30 to 35 mins depending on weight, altitude (9,500 or 10,500). And of course weather conditions ....!
Hi there, the air time vary from 20 to 30 minutes depending on height (8000, 10000, 12000). Could be longer due to other traffic and ATC clearance for the jump zone.
Question , why is it recommended the PIC should wear a parachute? If it's mandatory why not the other time they don't wear for eg : you flying solo or some other single pilot jobs?
When skydiver jumping out of the aeroplane, there is always a risk of them losing control and hit the airframe or control surfaces, which could lead to complete loss of control of the plane. The pilot must have the option to jump out to save their own lives. Compared to normal flying, no such risk presented. Have a watch of my other video, I did briefly talk about the use of parachute. th-cam.com/video/UaT07JqWxu8/w-d-xo.html
@Nambiar737 not mentioned , but there was an instance of a skydiver Cessna which collided with another one just prior to the drop - EVERYBODY had to get out due to collision damage and one airplane crashed. Luckily, all survived - but it was scary to watch on video, especially with one airplane on fire after they hit.
A exam and a couple of flights. I did it with my skydiving boss who is also an JPA examiner, so I don't exactly know the usual course structure from other company.

Thank you so much. You made my day 😄😄😄
I love this video, you are so tired take a break.
Don't worry, I do have short break in between all flights, and it is only weekend work.
Love your videos 💕
Thank you!!
Great video and thanks for sharing. What altitude do you fly up to before the skydivers bail out?
thank you. it depends on the clients, normally 8000, 10000, 12000 feet
How awesome a Jump pilot~ I love that~~

Great video! Do you notice much of a difference with the COG and overall balance once they jump out?
Yea absolutely, I need to re-trim the aircraft when they are shifting position and jumping out.

sorry if you’ve already said what plane you fly as a jump pilot in another video. ❤️
