I have learnt kathak earlier (5 years) but due to some problems had to leave that dance class. Later I tried to join several classes but was unable to follow what is being taught because it was totally different from the previous one, but it was some other kind of kathak I didn't get that,so I stopped kathak for few years. Today I found your channel and it's the same that I have learnt, now it's super easy and interesting to learn from you. Please keep teaching, you are very sweet and awesome....

@@LearnKathakOnline ma'am a doubt, aren't the speeds on the footwork in ekgun, dugun and Athgun (that is 8 beats in a matra instead of the 4 beats in a matra of chagunn)?

Thank you so much mam..u are an inspiration to learn Kathak :)...I have a doubt in Ekgun or Barabar, for every beat one bol and Dugun it is two bols in one beat however in this video I find in Ekgun, it is slower speed ie, there is a gap after each beat and Dugun is one beat equal to one bol. Pls. help in understanding. Thank you

Shukriya..for this awesome lesson. I love kathak and because of where I live I cant find a guru/teacher, so the fact that I can learn a bit online is awesome. I am already a Belly Dancer and teach a bit. I love both dances equally, and I have learned some moves from movies but would love to be classically trained in the dance of Kathak.

Ma'am you are a wonderful teacher. Your videos are very nice. I have a doubt though. The speeds in this video are ekgun(1 beat for 1 matra), Dugun - 2 beats for 1 matra and Athgun (8 beats for 1 matra)... isn't it 4 beats for 1 matra in Chaugun ?
