Walkers seem like a huge waste to me. Their legs and lack of balance are huge weak points. At least the AT-RT's from the Clone Wars were fast and nimble, so they had some advantages. The AT-ST and AT-AT's are too heavy and unstable. Repulsor tanks are where its at, give me a 2-M or T2-B

Farmers hiring warriors and said warriors training them to combat raiders is a homage to Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa. His work was a big influence on star wars.

All Terrain Scout Transport or ATST is a two legged vehicle created by the Empire to support infantry as well as serving as a light anti-vehicle role. Also used to scout out beyond the army’s perimeter or as armored reinforcements on garrisoned planets. The walker is piloted by a two person crew in the cockpit. Remember Chewbacca once piloted one with the aid of two Ewoks after yeeting out the two Imperial pilots.

Both movies feature a group of seven Samurai/Cowboys who help a village/town defende itself against bandits!

This story is based on Akira Kurosawa's classic "Seven Samurai". If you've never seen it, it's a MUST-SEE film with towering performances by Takashi Shimura and the incomparable Toshiro Mifune. If you didn't know, it was re-made in America as the classic Western "The Magnificent Seven" which has, in turn, been re-made with Denzel Washington more recently. Producer Dave Filoni loves the Kurosawa original and also used the plot in the Season 2 "Clone Wars" episode "Bounty Hunters"!
"Hunk of junk" is exactly what it sounds like: a big piece of garbage. "Junk in the trunk" may be what you were going for which means a pleasantly ample backside unless you just meant "hunk" which is a handsome guy. Lol.
I thought the widow Omera was a Native American actress named Q'orianka Kilcher who played Pocahontas in Terence Malick's "New World". However, it was another actress with Native American roots named Julia Jones from "Longmire" and "Wind River". They look uncannily similar and they're both stunningly beautiful!
I really love the concept art at the end of each episode. It's somewhat reminiscent of Dave Dorman's work who did painterly covers on a lot of Dark Horse graphic novels when they had the license to Star Wars. Most of that stuff is considered the non-canonical Expanded Universe nowadays after the Disney buy-out.
The dog-faced bandits are Klatoonians from Klatooine. You've seen them before in Jabba's palace as skiff guards. The Sarlacc munched on a couple of 'em!
When superpowers collapse like Soviet Russia, stockpiles of their arsenal often get sold on the black market by arms dealers. Hence, the AT-ST in the hands of Klatoonian pirates. You've seen the hardware before during the Battle of Endor in "Return of the Jedi". They're not automated drones but operated by drivers in the cockpit! Remember Chewbacca commandeering one of them?
The amazing Gina Carano is playing Cara Dune. She is NOT a Mandalorian. She tells Mando about her service as a shock trooper in the Rebel Alliance at the cafe. Gina is a bonafide MMA fighter! Check out her starring role in Steven Soderbergh's "Haywire" for a terrific Carano actioner alongside Bill Paxton, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum and Ewan McGregor!
Actress Bryce Dallas Howard directed this episode! She's following in her dad's footsteps and is trying her hand at directing. She did a good job. Bryce is Ron Howard's daughter.
If you're interested in the behind-the-scenes for this show, Disney+ has an 8-part companion show covering all aspects of production including round tables with the directors and cast.

    Here's the question I have......
Are there 2 different factions that are after "the child"? It seems like "the client" wanted him alive (along with Dr. Pershing) but "proof of termination for a lower fee" was acceptable (Ep.1)
IG-11 said "The commission was quite specific. The target was to be terminated" (also Ep. 1). The Trandoshans who attacked Mando (Ep. 2) tried to kill the child, and then THIS guy at the end of Ep. 4 was going to kill the child as well.
So, is someone trying to kill the child to keep it out of the hands of The Big Bad Guy (Ep. 7 & 8)? Sorry, won't spoil it for you.
Just a theory that crossed my mind.
    Great reaction as usual!
