I wonder if the producers of the show have ever watched an episode. it's quite entertaining and it peakes my curiosity whenever I see their videos on TH-cam, I have to click! but it's so cringy! the script in which they follow for the test is uncomfortable. You can see how uncomfortable the blacksmiths are just standing there. IDK why the testers have to ask them if they're ready what are they going to say no but it's just awkward.

The blacksmiths aren’t just standing there though,they are observing what their weapons are doing and if they’ll pass.The only reason they are a bit awkward is because they are nervous.
I totally agree with they. It's a nice idea for a serie like this, but the execution is very awkward. They can do better for sure. Still nice to watch a few episodes here and there.

@ not really because any blade can cut. But not every blade can hold its edge after taking a beating. Thats what theyre testing
What they do is of it's supposed to be a chopping blade they chop first, then cut. But if it's a cutting blade they cut first and chop second.
The world of forging to far from even. The blade must hold an edge or it is worthless like buck knives

Does he hold his arm like that for leverage and stability? Or to protect his heart if a blade breaks?
His heart is not that low, and at the position he is cutting at, it would be unlikely for the blade to reach his heart anyway. I cant see why he would do it for stability so its probably something to make him seem more professional, but i could be wrong

Judging a knife by its handle shouldn't be a thing because everybody has different size hands. That's why people shop for knives, to find the one that fits them best.
