Unlike many artists in their old age, Ray's voice never changed much. True classic. Faron left too early. Glad I grew up with the classics thanks to my Mom and Dad... These two, Mel Tilis, Kitty Wells, Tammy, Lorretta, Vern, Marty, Charley, Charlie Rich, Johnny Rodriguez, Hank Snow, Conway Twitty, and many others.
I think this may be the most magical moment in country music history. I had the honor of spending time with both of these amazing gentlemen, and experience their unparalleled magic with an audience. I also got to hang out with them and listen to them tell old stories about good fishing and good whiskey. Unforgettable times.
No one will read this but both these men were in a southern mafia. I grew up in the 80s and 90s knowing mr young and mr ray (price) I never put any of this together until my grandfather died. I wish I knew then who I was associated with. Life was good. Miss you so much paw paw e
Faron was badass. I'm only 16 and my five favorites are 1: Dwight Yoakam 2: Faron Young 3: Charlie Pride 4. Ernest Tubb 5. Johnny Cash But I have an ear for all music except pop and that Michael Jackson bullshit
Just found this piece. These artists are true ICONS in Country. This film is a classic, the song is so well done and I 'm glad to say it'll be repeated in my home many , many times.
A great performance by two of Country Music greats. I couldn't help but notice that Ray Price was a little less than amused with Faron Young's humor and attention, if though he was gracious.
Faron was a great and wonderful gentleman I met him at his bar in Nashville it was called faron young jailhouse he and I had a steak dinner and he got up and sing a few songs and when I was ready to leave he walked me out to the taxi and gave the driver 20 and told him to make sure I got home. The strange part was I had no idea who he was and I think he knew that. Just a great evening.
Faron assisted and helped quite a few country singers by giving them money, getting them record deals. He helped Willie Nelson when he was down on his luck
I got to see Ray price with my wife. His. Love. Songs touch ed my heart but my wife had lost her. Love for me. She is gone now but I will always. Remember that night.
Faron was goofing off...but that was Faron...and I wouldn't have him any other way. Ray and Faron were close friends and ya know expected Faron to goof off. He did real good keeping a straight face, probably had a lot of practice. RIP you two REAL wonderful country singers! Miss you both so much!
Liked them both very much. I saw Ray in person in Oakland, Ca. in 1954. On the same stage were my idols Gene Autry and Marty Robbins along with the Wilburn Brothers. I was 18 now am 85! Long-time ago! I was sad when we heard Faron put a 45 in his mouth...
I saw Ray Price opening for Willie Nelson in 2011 or 2012 in Montreal Canada and he had the same voice as in the 60's when I first heard him on CKBC in Bathurst New-Brunswick Canada when I was a kid. He had a great voice.
Time does not slipway!! WE DO! We clock away the years with little care for what is really important!! Hope get to dads age. He passed away at 97.5!! If given that time will use it very very wisely!! Great vocalists here. Love these guys!!
RIP Ray Price (January 12, 1926 - December 16, 2013), aged 87 And RIP Faron Young (February 25, 1932 - December 10, 1996), aged 64 You both will be remembered as legends.
Front Young Sings, My First Lp Of Faron I Bought Second Hand From A Friend Who Worked In The Cutting Room Of Edward McBeans In Glasgow In 1962, Still Have It Still Play It, This Was One aof The 13 Lps That I Bought, That Got Me On To Loving C&W, Got The 13 Lps For £5, Still Got All Of Them, Jim Campbell❤❤😊
When I was a teenager, I was more into the 90's country at the time (still am), and I would turn the channel (from TNN) when these guys would come on. Now in my 40's, I really wished I had stopped to pay attention to the music that my grandparents and my parents so loved to watch on that show Bill Anderson hosted. These days, I listen mostly to the classics that my dad and grandparents listened to- REAL country music.
When you compare it to our choices now, well..... there is no comparison. It's more like Country rock or Country Rap today. I grew up with Ray and Marty and all the others thanks to my Mom. I can never thank her enough for that music education.
Same here, I just helped my mom clean out their basement. I dug out my dad's record collection and his old Sony reel to reel player. Turns out we have the same taste in country- or you could say he played it a lot before I could remember or cared to know who he was playing. Lots of Waylon, Merle, George, Johnny Cash.....
I've got a reel to reel tape of Ray Price possibly a live performance but I haven't been able to find a reel to reel player yet, then of course I have to be able to copy it to a CD.
By 90's country you mean "Whitney Houston wannabe" music. Now it's even worse with taylor swift as country music entertainer of the millennium! Yeah right!?
Ray the old "Cherokee cowboy" is so friggen good his duet album with willie is super super good. we used to winter camp and drunk dance to it in the snow with moon boots on.
+Raymond Faron Did you see the other post I had with Ray and Faron in the interview at this same show? Just either check my videos search You Tube for "Ray Price Faron Young June 1991 LIVE Interview". It's pretty good also. The next day they went and recorded the CD they did together.
2 lovely guys and as country as you are going to get. Faron a dear friend of my husband, and now up there together, I bet there are are having a ball along with Merle now.
Ray Price - God Bless Your Soul "Ever-Day" - you set the "Standard" of me with music. Remember the Memories - hurts sometimes. Best to Faron's Soul too- cute man.
Country music today is a sad comparison compared to these brilliant performers.
Country Music of today is only CMINO, Country Music In Name Only.
Yes Faron was one of the greatest in the music business ,and one of the most underrated too
I have never heard of these two but then again, I wasn't born until the late 80's.
I grew up on Ray Price.
His voice was incomparable.
Ray Price had one of the finest C & W singing voices ever
True!!!!
True
He was early on shunned.
They deemed him too sophisticated.
Until he could not be ignored.
@elisabethvalade9866 Ray had a different sound for his many great songs. They get better every time I hear .
them.
Two Legends! Two of the greatest voices in real country music.
the sheriff and the Cherokee cowboy
I agree with you
100% agree with you.
And Jim Reeves!
A BIG Amen to that!!!!!!
Country gold. Thank God this music will last forever.
That music not today's music
Ray Price had the smoothest, most mellow voice ever!
He was a better singer than Faron Young and could sing just about anything.
@@lylis-dadno he's not
So so beautiful....you cant compare to the music of today! Nothing like the oldies
I agree
You are so correct.What happened??
Hello Michael
Today’s country music is an abomination to my ears it’s noise pollution.
Two country icons sorely missed. My mom loved Ray Price so much. His voice just made her melt. Faron was real country at it's finest!
Two of country music's finest legends!
Love both of them .Real voices to talented greats love there style .Rest in peace you two.you 💙🤍❤️💙❤️💙🤍❤️
I think this may be the most magical moment in country music history. I had the honor of spending time with both of these amazing gentlemen, and experience their unparalleled magic with an audience. I also got to hang out with them and listen to them tell old stories about good fishing and good whiskey. Unforgettable times.

Thank god for TH-cam if it wasn’t for TH-cam we wouldn’t be able to hear good country music anymore.
Billy Joe Royal does a great rendition of this song.
Love these two! They were the BEST!
No one will read this but both these men were in a southern mafia. I grew up in the 80s and 90s knowing mr young and mr ray (price) I never put any of this together until my grandfather died. I wish I knew then who I was associated with. Life was good. Miss you so much paw paw e

It's called the KKK

Wonderful music.
So sad we don't have singer like this anymore.
My mother loved these mens voices. Ray price is priceless.
So beautiful both of there voices were great . Mrs Curtis
If not for Willie's Roadhouse, I'd never have bothered to listen to the classics. I so appreciate them now!
I've seen both of this men in person. Faron on Louisiana Hayride, and Ray Price in a honky tonk in NJ. They both have wonderful voices, legends.
My two best country singers, loved them singing together. He was soooo good looking, I was so honored to see them in person
This is so memorable and it’s like it was yesterday
two of the best..George Hamilton IV said of the departed.."not gone, just gone before!" see you in Heaven Faron and Ray!
This is absolutely amazing!!They were so great!!❤
Faron danced with me in Lubbock 40yrs ago. Jumped off the stage a nd spun me around twice. Still in shock 😊😊
Now that’s beautiful voices/music to my ears, no comparison with today’s music!
Faron is one of my favorites and I'm 19. I love the old country music.
Faron was badass. I'm only 16 and my five favorites are
1: Dwight Yoakam
2: Faron Young
3: Charlie Pride
4. Ernest Tubb
5. Johnny Cash
But I have an ear for all music except pop and that Michael Jackson bullshit
Faron was awesome and Ray Price smooth and timeless.

A great performance by two of Country Music greats. I couldn't help but notice that Ray Price was a little less than amused with Faron Young's humor and attention, if though he was gracious.
It doesn't get any better than that.
they are 2 of my favorites. I saw Faron in person and he was awesome.
These two had beautiful voices and amazing talent.
Two of the truly great classic country artists that I grew up listening to because of my parents love for country music.
Still sing soooo beautifully
Love this
This is just too Good!! I believe this was on a show called Nashville Now, on the Nashville Network.
Two of the best. This is REAL country
2 OF THE BEST PERFORMERS!!!!! 😆
Makes me think of my mom! She would have loved this!
Pure gold.Thank you God for blessing us with these awsome singers.
Roger Miller once said that the only thing bigger than Faron's mouth, was his heart!

Hello there Patricia nice meeting you here
Faron was a great and wonderful gentleman I met him at his bar in Nashville it was called faron young jailhouse he and I had a steak dinner and he got up and sing a few songs and when I was ready to leave he walked me out to the taxi and gave the driver 20 and told him to make sure I got home. Faron assisted and helped quite a few country singers by giving them money, getting them record deals. He helped Willie Nelson when he was down on his luck
Awesome memory!
Love thees guys wish they were still with us
i grew up with the Grand Ole Opry and all the early super stars who pioneered Country Music!
When they could sing without the 'frills' of today. As good/great in person as on the recordings.
I got to see Ray price with my wife. His. Love. Songs touch ed my heart but my wife had lost her. Love for me. She is gone now but I will always. Remember that night.
You sing amazing 🎶 music
Poor Faron Young. Such a great talent. Too bad he had to take his own life just a few years after this show.
He and Ray, the next day did an album together. They talked about it on the interview on this program also. th-cam.com/video/g84CIz_EfUc/w-d-xo.html
I never knew that !
Sad
Yeah but think of it like this. He did it in his own way.
Clearly, he had been thinking about doing that for awhile. He also chose to do it...

Joe De La Rosa I
You are spectacular...your voice and your words....love your music
I saw Ray Price opening for Willie Nelson in 2011 or 2012 in Montreal Canada and he had the same voice as in the 60's when I first heard him on CKBC in Bathurst New-Brunswick Canada when I was a kid. He had a great voice.
He loved his fans and loved being on the road with them. He did what he loved till the end, can't ask for more than that.
His voice just got better with the years.
Two giants of country music
Two masters of real country music.....
Time does not slipway!! WE DO! We clock away the years with little care for what is really important!! Hope get to dads age. He passed away at 97.5!! If given that time will use it very very wisely!! Great vocalists here. Love these guys!!

Remember the Memories - hurts sometimes.
Best to Faron's Soul too- cute man.
Why can't " Country" music return to this enduring music with real, honest to God, adult preformers. Classic, in every sense of the word.
There was only one man God put on this earth for the music he made and that's Marty Robbins
