Home Free was on tour in Austria when they filmed this. This is one of the few songs that we get to hear Adam Rupp sing. Another great cover they did was Go Rest High On That Mountain.
No one will ever convince me that this isn't the best version of this beautiful song. They did a fantastic job and those harmonies were out of this world 🌎. My favorite spiritual song that they do. My children also know that this is to be played at my funeral service. Mostly because I love this group and they sang it in my ancestors homeland. Thanks for your great reaction 🥰 🦋🥀🦋
I just checked and this video has 25 million views!! You can definitely understand why, right?! Thank you for a great reaction! Several of the HF guys had a similar experience of growing up singing in church…😁
This was filmed in Austria, not far from where the Sound of Music was filmed, near Salzburg. These guys are gifted artists....and they really do this heavenly !!!
Closer to Innsbruck then Salzburg. Kermaten Alm are a few km/ miles Southwest of Innsbruck. If you look at Google Maps, then you will recognize the moutains behind.
They are so very awesome! There is nothing that they can't do! Please notice the beatboxer Adam Rupp sings in this song. He has a beautiful tenor voice. Love your reaction!
They did a version of Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens that is beautiful, and for nice, warm, and fuzzy feel songs, check out "The Driver", and their newest, "From Here To The Moon And Back". Both are gorgeous.
One of the reasons for Home Free's success is that they are not afraid to show their faith but don't force it on anyone but also show great respect for faith based songs.
This reminds me of my father, who played piano for the church for most of his life. He played this a little more up-tempo and more of a celebratory style, I shall never forget it. These guys are just about as good as it gets, it hits you in the gut.
I think this is one of the best versions of this song. Tim's bass really carries the song. I just found Home Free during the pandemic & love these 5 talented guys. And the scenery is awesome filmed in the beautiful Austrian Alps (my dad comes from that area).
We didn't hear this song every week, as you did, but we heard it enough that we were all familiar with it. This is my favorite version of this stirring hymn.
The variety of styles and genres Home Free are proficient at is astounding. From silly and light hearted to artistic and grand, they've got it covered. This is a gorgeous rendition of the song. It was a treat to hear Adam sing a bit of solo, even tho' it was just one note six times. The harmonies were exquisite and the bass sounded almost like an organ. So good. Home Free is unapologetically who they are. They record under their own label, so they are beholding to no one. They have a couple of Christmas albums that are a variety of religious and non religious songs that are very very good. Their musical intuition is always on point. Beat boxing wouldn't have been appropriate for this and they totally didn't go there. Mary Did You Know is spectacular, as well. You will love it. Thanks for a great reaction.
This was filmed in the Austrian Alps! They couldn't have chosen a better place for this incredible version of this moving spiritual song! Great reaction!
Really so wonderfully sung in such a beautiful environment. I've heard the song so many times, but this one is still my favorite. A few months ago I showed this to my mother (84) who is way religious. Now she regularly asks if I want to put it on. She herself has passed it on to her church community so that she can show it and hear it at church one day. All those beautiful different voices, but still one. Such great harmony. And of course so nice to hear Adam Rupp sing even if it is short. ..Yes, Home Free can do this too. It touches you deep in your heart and soul. Gives you shivers.
This is a beautiful song and so happy you found it. All of the guys sound amazing and the Austrian Alps look so pretty. I like to hear Adam Rupp singing also. He has a great voice but he would rather not sing. Thank you for a great reaction.
I love their version of this beloved classic! I very much recommend the Mary Did You Know they have done. Thank you for the lovely reminder of the best things in life that are a free gift to us from a loving God!
I listen to this every morning to start my day. OMG you should listen to their version of Do You Hear What I Hear. Adam arranged it and it's Phenomenal. It's another one I listen to alot and they filmed the video in MN at night after this ice castle closed. I don't know what the temperature was but the high for the day was 25. They do a lot of Christmas hymns as well as fun songs. You should also check out their song with Kenny Rogers Children Go Where I Tell Thee. Great Reaction!
Home Free has some wonderful Christmas music. Suggest their renditions of "O Holy Night" and "Do You Hear What I Hear". Also another phenomenal a cappella group, Pentatonix, "Mary Did You Know".
You don't even need to be a Christian to enjoy and feel the magnitude of this song. The blend of Voice and Visual is absolutely beautiful! 🥰 Love Home Free.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this song. - I'm a big fan of Home Free and always love to hear this particular song. Each time I hear it, as an "old guy," I choke up and get tears in my eyes. I am a new subscriber and I'm sure I'll enjoy listening to you. Many thanks. God bless you.
I have a great love for Gospel music, including the old traditional hymns. I used to sing on the praise and worship team as the only baritone. I love harmonizing and sometimes we'd perform a capella. It's nourishment for my soul. If you still sing in the choir, keep singing. God inhabits the praises of His people.
Yeah, man. I grew up in the church too, and even if you've heard this song thousands of times, they present it in a way that gives you all new chills. Love it. Great review!
Just found your channel via this video! Loved your reaction, your music knowledge, and appreciation for these five talented men! I also have fond and special memories with this song from my youth. Home Free’s version is astoundingly beautiful! They have covered a few gospel/hymns over the years. Their version of “Mary, Did You Know” is wonderful! There a quite a few others that I know you’d like: “Children, Go Where I Send Thee” with the late Kenny Rogers; a collaboration with Peter Hollens on “Amazing Grace” is phenomenal.
The filming of the song was in the Swiss Alps! Such a beautiful song once more of theirs. They cease to amaze me with incredible a ccappella singing. Just excellent! 😍
Rob, always love your reactions, props to ya for hiking the A.T.! This is one of the few songs that Adam Rupp (beatboxer) sings! The harmonies are indeed incredible. These guys dare to sing Christian songs, R&B (they covered Boys 2 Men), country, pop....just love 'em. P.S. Love the big spoon in your kitchen, LOL! Keep up the good work, man....sending you good vibes from MD!
I have already told my family that when I die I want This version of How Great Thou Art and Pentatonix's version of Amazing Grace played at my funeral. Don't know how they will get around copyright, but they need to figure it out! lol!
I'm not sure if you ever found out where they filmed this, but it was the Swiss Alps. It might look familiar if you ever watched The Sound Of Music. It's where Julie Andrews sang at the beginning. They also made their video for Go Rest High On That Mountain there. It's GORGEOUS!
I have loved the many artists who have sung this amazing song, but the Austrian alps provide the best backdrop for this amazing, beautiful blessed song. Listen to it as often as possible. New sub
I just remembered the name of the song you were singing "The Greatest Love". Their versions of "Mary Did You Know", "O Holy Night" and "Angels We Have Heard on High" are all just as beautiful. I really enjoy your channel and comments.
P.S. - I forgot "Go Tell It On The Mountain" (with Texas Hill), "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Amazing Grace" (the latter two with Peter Hollens).
I love how Rob matches Austin in power of their voices when harmonizing. Austin sings the high octave, and sometimes the higher notes are more easily heard and kinda take over(to me), but Rob did an outstanding job......well they all did, but Rob stood out to me. Wow!
Love this! It’s one of my favorite versions of the song. Yeah it does look a little like New Zealand but it was filmed in the Austrian Alps when they were touring there. I heard it and sang it a lot in church too and you’re right lots of people won’t sing religious songs anymore which is sad as there are so many beautiful religious songs out there. Good reaction Rob and I subscribed. 🥰
Their Christmas music is all excellent, especially "Do You Hear What I Hear" and "O Holy Night." They team up with another excellent artist, Peter Hollens, for a special rendition of "Amazing Grace." Their version of "Mary Did You Know" is very nice, but my absolute favorite of that song is done by Voctave, featuring Mark Lowry, the author of the song.
I loved your reaction. These guys have several religious songs. They sang with Kenny Rogers in Children Go Where I Send Thee. Definitely check out Mary Did You Know and Do You Hear What I Hear. They are year-round good to listen to, not just Christmas music. New subscriber enjoying your work.
I'm not a member of an organized religion and growing up, it was always mine and my sisters' choice whether to attend church. I did for a while and then decided it just wasn't for me. I don't know many hymns, but I know this one and this is by far my favorite version of it.
Home Free have tonnes of Christmas songs, carols, hymns and significant songs. Try Do you Hear What I hear or O Holy Night. Pentatonix too have loads of Christmas albums and their version of O Come All Ye Faithful (with Avi) is unmatched. They've also done Amazing Grace and Mary Did You Know?
How Great Thou Art (O store Gud) is a Swedish spiritual song with lyrics from 1885 by Carl Boberg (1859-1940) which was first printed on March 13, 1886. Carl Boberg wrote the lyrics after experiencing a thunderstorm at Kalmarsund in Småland. The music is a Swedish folk melody. It is one of the most widespread spiritual songs in the world.
Both religious songs and christas songs are a big part of acapella music, it's the genre. You will find that most acapella groups have at least christmas music
The song and Home Free,s talent are great ,but the look on your face during this I found amazing. It was a very honest and touching review brother. 👍🏻🇨🇦
Please react to Adam Rupp's :"Drum solo" The one where he is wearing a red checkered shirt. You have been impressed with the skills you have seen so far so this one should blow you away.
Check out their collaboration with Kenny Rogers on Children, Go Where I Send Thee. Kenny Rogers talks at the end about how he first heard of Home Free.

Totally agree Judy! It’s SO beautiful! It really show how GREAT our LORD God is! Thank you! Peace and Blessings to you and your family from Australia.
@@wendyryder2708 same to you as well. Thank you.🏡🍟
I totally agree! My whole body gets covered in goosebumps and I cry every time I listen to this. I want this version played at my funeral. ❤️
My ancestors' homeland, as well. I, too, want it at my memorial service. Listen to their rendition of "Go Rest High on that Mountain", too.
Oh! And "Amazing Grace"!😊
Their rendition of "Mary did you know" is beautiful.
But the way they sang "Can you hear what I hear" are next level.
I agree. Adam Rupp did the arrangement for "Do You Hear What I Hear?" and it is fantastic. It is complex and intricate and absolutely gorgeous.
I just checked and this video has 25 million views!! You can definitely understand why, right?! Thank you for a great reaction! Several of the HF guys had a similar experience of growing up singing in church…😁

Yes, it had that "Alpine look." I've been to that area quite a few times - lovely can't describe it.
They are so very awesome! There is nothing that they can't do! Please notice the beatboxer Adam Rupp sings in this song. He has a beautiful tenor voice. Love your reaction!
It's such a moving song. It brings me to tears.
I’m in tears
Ty for your reaction! HF is the best of the best!
This is one of the best ever covers
their collab with Peter Hollens on Amazing Grace is another emotional video....it's a must watch
Rob Robbie your a hung legend for appreciating the best version of a classic ,man your voice is something special also
They did a version of Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens that is beautiful, and for nice, warm, and fuzzy feel songs, check out "The Driver", and their newest, "From Here To The Moon And Back". Both are gorgeous.
Part of the joy of Home Free doing these songs is that there faces show the happiness of what they are singing
My introduction to HOME FREE was their version of Do You Hear What I Hear. I have been a devoted fan since then. It was filmed in an ice castle.
One of the reasons for Home Free's success is that they are not afraid to show their faith but don't force it on anyone but also show great respect for faith based songs.
You'd love their collab with Texas Hill "go tell it on the mountain", & their collab with the Oak Ridge Boys "Beautiful star of Bethlehem". 🥰🥰
YES YES YES!!! Beautiful Star of Bethlehem is one of my favorite collabs of theirs!!!
This reminds me of my father, who played piano for the church for most of his life. He played this a little more up-tempo and more of a celebratory style, I shall never forget it. These guys are just about as good as it gets, it hits you in the gut.

This one will be sung at my funeral. Wonderful, thoughtful reaction.
Mine too Phyllis...
I want them to sing this at my funeral. If that can’t happen, the recording will definitely be played.
The singing, the landscape! Everything is so perfect in the beautiful Austrian Alps
What a beautiful reaction to a beautiful version of "How Great Thou Art". Thank you so much - that was fantastic. 💙🍟
GREAT AND POWERFUL.... ULTRA GREAT VOICES... BRAVO.... BRAVO ... GREAT MEN VOICES ...
Go Rest High on That Mountain is extremely emotional too🥺🙏🏻❤️
This is a beautiful song and so happy you found it. All of the guys sound amazing and the Austrian Alps look so pretty. I like to hear Adam Rupp singing also. He has a great voice but he would rather not sing. Thank you for a great reaction.

Absolutely beautiful scenery and singing. Best rendition Ive ever heard of this old beautiful hymn.
They have a BEAUTIFUL Christmas Album too! WITH the religious songs🥰🙏🏻
Thank you for another Home Free reaction.

I totally agree with you on Do You Hear What I Hear. Never really cared for that song until Home Free did it. Now it is one of my favorites.
I loved your reaction!
The beatboxer Adam Rupp was the one that sang "It Is Well" solo part.. They also sang "Amazing Grace".. Good reaction.
Home Free has some wonderful Christmas music. Suggest their renditions of "O Holy Night" and "Do You Hear What I Hear". Also another phenomenal a cappella group, Pentatonix, "Mary Did You Know".
Great reaction, thank you. They did Children Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers…..terrific version.

I would not have minded having Home Free as a church choir 😆
I have a great love for Gospel music, including the old traditional hymns. I used to sing on the praise and worship team as the only baritone. I love harmonizing and sometimes we'd perform a capella. It's nourishment for my soul. If you still sing in the choir, keep singing. God inhabits the praises of His people.

Every word is so clear and distinct, all voices in perfect sync. It’s like listening to a vocal pipe-organ.
I have already told my family that when I die I want This version of How Great Thou Art and Pentatonix's version of Amazing Grace played at my funeral. Don't know how they will get around copyright, but they need to figure it out! lol!
Do You Hear What I Hear is SOOOO Beautiful & the video is just as!!
The Swiss alps in Austria. Very beautiful and awe inspiring.
You need to listen to their version of "When A Man Loves A Woman". Austin does a great job leading it. Thanks
Loved your reaction, and your appreciation of both the song and the artists!!
Try Home Free and Kenny Rogers...Children Go Where I Send Thee
I'm not sure if you ever found out where they filmed this, but it was the Swiss Alps. It might look familiar if you ever watched The Sound Of Music. It's where Julie Andrews sang at the beginning. They also made their video for Go Rest High On That Mountain there. It's GORGEOUS!
I so love their singing, and that little church in the valley amongst such beauty, glory of God, what a beautiful place.
I have loved the many artists who have sung this amazing song, but the Austrian alps provide the best backdrop for this amazing, beautiful blessed song.
Listen to it as often as possible.

Another one to listen to - Everybody Walk-in’ This Land. tremendous message, moving song, great video.
Really enjoyed your reaction. It's great to see a reaction from someone who gets the meaning as well as the beauty.

Love this one. Grew up in a small church as well, had an Aunt that would make the rafters ring with this song. Great reaction thanks for sharing.
Love your sincere and moving response, friend. They sang it in Austria while on tour in Europe. You changed your curtains! pretty!
Love this! It’s one of my favorite versions of the song. Yeah it does look a little like New Zealand but it was filmed in the Austrian Alps when they were touring there.
This is how I pray that heaven sounds.
I'm sure you would enjoy the collaboration of Home Free and Peter Hollens, "Amazing Grace."
The location is the mountains of Switzerland , in Europe , such a beautiful location and such a beautiful perfect rendition of a true classic song
This was filmed in the same Austrian area where the movie "The Sound of Music" was filmed.
Believe me there is definitely a niche for Gospel on TH-cam. Just check out the views on these magnificent songs. ❤️🎼
Did you notice that the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) did the short solo on the It Is Well transition?
Absolutely beautiful.
Home Free have tonnes of Christmas songs, carols, hymns and significant songs. Try Do you Hear What I hear or O Holy Night.

I love my Jesus and will never be ashamed! I get what you’re saying about what’s happening in this world.
Check out their collaboration with Kenny Rogers on Children, Go Where I Send Thee. Kenny Rogers talks at the end about how he first heard of Home Free.
You ROCKED this reaction!!!!
Rob: you are a very anointed young man.
Listen to O Holy Night. Another one of their awesome Christian covers.
I have heard Home Free sing this 100s of times and watched dozens of reactors, many of whom (sadly) couldn't distinguish a hymn from a hymnal (a hymnal being a collection of hymns). And after all of that, I noticed something that no one remarked on. The arrangement that Home Free sang omitted the verse with the phrase "And when I think that God, His Son not sparing, Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in". This is NOT a criticism of Home Free, just an observation, but may speak to what Mr. Robbie referred to as the de-emphasis of religion in our culture (my paraphrase). Austria Alps... beautiful.
Creating the sound of an organ creates a cathedral around them.
You really really need to react to "In the Blood" by Home free. Very moving.
