Set in Manhattan in the 1990s and inspired by Puccini's opera La Bohème, this rock musical by Jonathan Larson follows a group of young East Village artists, performers and philosophers as they struggle through the hardships of poverty, societal discord and the AIDS epidemic in the search for life, love and art. With a song list that includes the iconic "Seasons of Love," Rent tells a story as relevant today as when it took Broadway by storm more than 25 years ago.

Everything about this production was incredible. Every actor did amazing and the staging was gorgeous🫶
Saw this play 3 times and got to meet Lee Siegel after the show. This show is one of the best I’ve ever seen everywhere and it all comes down to the stunning portrayals of these characters in particular Angel and Tom Collins. ❤❤❤❤

@@Jeffhowardmeade that's the opposite of what my experience has always been. Production videos motivate me to go see shows. No additional motivation is needed for Rent at the Stratford Festival, though!
@@fionajackson8002 I wish they would put more of their shows online. I get that performances of plays are meant to be ephemeral, and there are restrictions relating to copyrighted works like Rent, but the Stratford Festival is three times zones away from me.
