Loved this video! Me and my wife are about to make a cross country road trip from Georgia to California in our RV and we have to visit these places, great insight for our preparations!
Next time you come go down to cedar City and see cedar breaks National monument. It is a one beautiful spot. Also while in cedar City go to the Shakespeare festival. Some of those plays there are off the wall awesome. Thanks for coming to Utah it's a wonderful state. Another thing, wallet Zion National Park, why didn't you go up the backside at Kolob Canyon? Pull up Canyon is one gorgeous Canyon also. Missed out on one great place.
I just finished an epic 3 week trip through Utah. Next time you go don't miss Dead Horse Point State Park at sunrise/sunset, similar to Horseshoe Bend but much cooler views. One of the best places I went was Canyonlands NP, The Needles District.
Thank you for this great info! You are really good at this. My hubby and I are full-time RV’ers and in our early 60’s in decent but not excellent shape. Which hikes would you recommend for us?
Hey Julie, Arches: the windows, park avenue, and double arch are fairly easy. Zion and Bryce Canyon hikes change in elevation quickly, which make them a little more strenuous.
I just recently found out that the terms bison and buffalo do not refer to the same animals. The animals you saw here were bison, which actually look nothing like buffalo. Who knew?
Nice video. Thanks. You didn’t hit the Grand Canyon. Do you regret that ? We’re trying to decide on the northeast Utah parks or Grand Canyon with Zion and Bryce.
Great Video! I'm planning a 3 week fall trip to Utah! Will definitely hit up the Bird Cage in Moab! When you went to Coral Pink Sand Dunes...were there a lot of untouched dunes to photograph? I love sand dunes!
Hi, Clay, It was good to meet you last night at mojos. This is a really great video! me and the kids who were with me last night just watched. Even Brock, the 8 yr old got into it. Awesome videography and nice travel tips. I'm not sure what account I was using when I subscribed to your channel last night but I just subscribed again with this account. I am a little more active on youtube with this channel. I've got 100 subscribers who could care less what I post next. I'll be on the lookout for your Raleigh burger run vid. I could use some new ideas!
Hi Clay - cool video! First time in the states for me and we're doing a road trip from Salt Lake City to San Fransisco. I was wondering if you knew/reccommended any car rental companies in the area? Preferably looking for a 4WD to go overland down south. Thanks!
Welcome Nathan! I personally like using Dollar or Budget rental cars. They are the easiest to work with, and I've found they have lower pricing. Just watch out for third party sites like Expedia or Priceline because you don't always get what you see. Hope that helps! Enjoy your trip!
Red Iguana That's where I wanted to go Now I think I'm going to try it this time I Love Mexican Tacos and well love all of it 😍Can't wait Now I'm Hungry ❤
What time of year did you go, and when would you recommend is the best time to plan a trip? Was a week just the perfect amount, or would you shorten/lengthen it based on your experiences?
I’ve lived in St. George Utah for six years… We are an hour south west of Zion. I hate to say it, but July is the hottest month of the year with temperatures consistently in the 102+ degree range. Temps of 104-6 are not uncommon. That combined with the summer crowds and killer sun (reflected off the slick rock) doesn’t make for an ideal vacation month. April, May, October… Those are the best months for being in the desert.
They made Angels landing sound simple. It is not If you are afraid of heights this is probably something that you don't want to do. People die on that hike. Please do your research very carefully.
I love the way you presented in a way of sense of humor instead of being too formal.
Been watching so many videos on this theme, yours is the best! Fun, informative and insightful! Thanks for putting this together.

Cedar Breaks National Monument is also an excellent place to checkout . Near the town of Cedar city . ✌️
Definitely hit valley of fire on the way to Vegas. Definitely worth the 2-4 hour stop.
Great itinerary!
UTAHN RIGHT HERE 💪😎💪

Bear Lake is amazing.
Nice video. Thanks. You didn’t hit the Grand Canyon. Do you regret that ? We’re trying to decide on the northeast Utah parks or Grand Canyon with Zion and Bryce.
Hey Bonnie, because of our limited time on the trip, we are not disappointed we missed Grand Canyon. We plan to do a separate trip out there!
This video is great! Can’t believe you tried the salt! 😂
Thanks Ay Katie! Haha yeah, not one of my prouder moments.
Canyonlands is not like Bryce and Capitol Reef, it's different, I loved it!

@@ClayPerry Thanks!
Can you mention the areas you stayed ? And if any would be good for 2 nights…. We’re not picky!

So we’ll put together!! Thank you

You missed goblin Valley. Sooo unique
Great vid, thank you. Thinking about flying out from WNY. What month of the year did you go? We are thinking about July.
I’ve lived in St. George Utah for six years… We are an hour south west of Zion. I hate to say it, but July is the hottest month of the year with temperatures consistently in the 102+ degree range. Thanks Michael! We went out in September, great weather. July may be slightly hotter.
How long was your trip? How many days?
going from houston to utah what do u advice in april
Wonder if it is worth to drive back to Utah since the flights are cheaper from it?
Maybe! Worth looking into!
FYI….Veterans get in free to National Parks.
Where did you stay while visiting Zion ?
We stayed at an Airbnb in the town of Hurricane!
I am going to Zion for the Narrows in September. Do we still have to get shuttle tickets in advance?
They. have discontinued the shuttle.
@@MrBobGomez How do we get to the Narrows from the parking lot? We have to walk there now?
What time would you leave to Zion in the morning & Bryce Canyon!
If you want to get into the park before the crowd, before 6:30AM!
How many days was this trip?
We did a 10 day trip!
Actualy, monument valley is in Arizona for the main part.
Thanks for the tip reinhold!
Much of it yes, but the particular part where Forrest Gump ran, (mentioned in this video) is in Utah.
Can I get the first track id please?

Which rental car did you rent? How much did that cost you?
We went with Dollar Rental!
@@ClayPerry Thanks, is it pick up at only city and drop at another?

You barely touched all that is available in Utah. This is NOT the "ultimate" trip, but a nice "first time". Hope you come back for more.
UDAH🤒😷
Hahahahahaha sad to see you went the most basic places in utah but that’s why we keep the actual good places to ourselves
It’s pronounced Zigh-un….NOT Zigh-on.
Udah 🤒🤮😷🤕
You were in Page AZ and you didn't go to Antalope Canyon shame on you
Antelope Canyon was closed due to Covid while we were there gary. Otherwise we would have!
@@ClayPerry Guess there was just too much covid in the canyon!!!
Please ... don't sound like a tourist and say Zi-on. Zi isn't on anything. It is just Zion. Locals will laugh at you!
How many days was this trip?
Where did you rent your car that allowed you to get it in Salt Lake and return it in Las Vegas?
Hey Vel! We used Dollar Rent A Car!
Enterprise is the best
