    Hello, my name is Merrill Kazanjian and I am a metal detectorist. This is a teaching channel where you will learn metal detecting techniques and gain knowledge. My channel, Metal Detecting NYC is a good place to learn metal detecting 101 on youtube.
    Here is a link to my channel: / metaldetectingnyc

    My art channel with 107,000+ subscribers: / youdraw
    I am a teacher and my channel will show you how to metal detect for beginners all the way through advanced techniques for metal detectorists. I am the owner of a Minelab Safari Metal Detector, a Garrett AT Pro (at pro metal detector youtube), a WOT coil and I can teach you how to recover the deepest of targets with a metal detector. My metal detecting finds include many gold and platinum rings and early American coins as well as British Colonial coins and Spanish Colonial Coins. Metal detecting is a hobby that millions of people around the world do. All you need to try is a metal detector some batteries, a digging tool and some patience. My first metal detector cost 30 dollars at BJ's and I dug enough signals to buy my first "real" metal detector with the change that I found with the 30 dollar toy model. I decided to start Metal detecting on TH-cam because I feel the need to teach what I know. It has been a life changing activity for me and I want to share what I know. It is my hope that Metal Detecting NYC can become one of the biggest metal detecting youtube channels. My beach instructional videos include (or will include soon) , "metal detecting dry sand", (choosing a) "metal detecting sand scoop" and "surf hunting". On land, I use the website historic aerials to survey the history of a site so that I can continue metal detecting old homesites and other places with a lot of history. Subscribe to my channel to see my metal detector finds for 2019. I have had people get up and move for me when they see me doing a big grid. I tell them not to worry about it. It's no big deal . They insisted and moved to a spot I had detected . I think they were enjoying watching me detect.

    Dude I enjoy your videos! Once while on vacation on the Florida Gulf Coast I met a guy who was a retired cop from NYC who was Metal Detecting and he showed me an emerald ring he just found and I said “I wanna do that when I retire “ ...to which he said, “why wait?”... so I got my Whites MD system and now in a few years I will be the retired guy out there in the cool breeze on the Gulf Coast of Florida does big my thing! Great videos!

    I'm thinking dragging the scoop to show the grid marks, then when reversing direction you can stay a couple 2 - 3 feet away.

    Brand new to the channel and watched a couple of your, rather amusing, videos... Great sense of humour but in the last hour or so I've learned that my new, second hand, Ace 250 is probably crap for beaches, but will try it out soon. Good tutorials and greetings from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

    • @MetalDetectingNYC
      @MetalDetectingNYC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Karl! I own an Ace 250 also. Not a great beach machine.. The only way is to lower the sensitivity and ground balance to 0 manually (and that might just be an AT Pro trick). I love my NOX 600 and White's Beach Hunter 300 for beaches.

    There currently been construction going at my local the beach. And They have dug out alot of sand and there is now a small long hill of sand at the end of the dry sand area of the beach. There has been already old silver coins found in there. I wonder where will all coins be sitting as the detector can out go at a curtain depth.

    quickly becoming one of my favorite MD channels.... so when you do find a gold ring, have you made a video on how to sell your finds? that's always tough for me.

    • @MetalDetectingNYC
      @MetalDetectingNYC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im honored. There are so many great MD channels. But I CANT sell anything......All the cool kids hoard their stuff. On a serious note, I follow the stock market and many "experts" recommend that you own gold since it is such a great store of value. Currencies can deflate, stocks can go bankrupt. Real estate and gold maintain their values, even in a time of crisis. I lock mine up and hold on just in case. As funny as it sounds, with metal detecting, the gold you find is free!
