Kinda; cats have a need to be at eye level with whoever they're talking to which means they'll often climb on to whatever will allow them to be at eye level. This is also the reason why cats tend to like it more when you crouch down to their level to talk. It might also tie into the way that cats assert authority; whenever cats get into a fight over territory the one that's claiming the territory always tries to look for higher ground to visually tell the other cat that this territory is theirs. Either that or they just see as nothing more than walking keys that can open doors and magically provide them with food.

Only had one Siamese in my life. He became my best friend and my baby, we were devoted to eachother. They are great cats but it hurts so bad when they have to go. Been 6 years almost and I still miss him, it's a cut that will never heal took too much. Such a big hole left from such a little fellow.

She will always be alive in my heart and memories. Your best friend would want you to be happy, and remember him in happy memories. He loved you, and happy memories never die. But it is okay to be sad about it and miss him, it is a sign that you love him. And he loved you too, for sure.

It's a nice cat I've only seen one other exactly like that spots colors and all it started off in second grade a pregnant cat would come in my backyard would always feed it the cats babies came fed them and there babies generations of the cat in my backyard I'm now 17 years old and still feeding those cats crazy to think it all started with the pregnant gray cat about 8 years ago th cats started to trust me around there kittens now I'm the strange uncle that all the kittens love despite the fact that I was always talking a different language rather then catanese or they also speak kittenese that's the baby steps though

Calicos and tortoiseshells aren't breeds, they're coats. My two furkid's mom was a tortie, yet only one of her kittens shared that trait. She had 2 ginger boys, a tuxedo girl, a mini her, and a pure black boy kitten. Siamese is a breed, but the others aren't.

I had a blue point Siamese named Smokey. Mom's husband threw him against a wall & so I bought him with me, a month or so after, Smokey's kidneys failed him, the vet broke all 4 of his legs & they were in casts & he wouldn't let me bring Smokey home & he died!!! 🤧😭. It's been 15 years & I still miss him. My dear baby boy 🥰

I was always a dog person, but when my 14-year-old dog passed away, I knew I could never replace her with another dog, so I’d be grudgingly got a cat. That was two weeks ago & The first three days I was ready to bring her back to the shelter, but now it’s been two weeks & in spite of myself I am growing very attached to her. She is special. I never knew a cat could be so affectionate. ❤️

Cats are crazy smart. And when they meow those are noises they use with humans and their kittens. Cats treat humans like their babies they play with us protect us( bugs, other animals, dust balls etc...) They bring us gifts ( prey, toys, half eaten food....) They try to keep us warm.

My Daffodil had a toy spider she would carry around, use as a pillow, talk to (while it was in her mouth 😹). We called it spider, but pronounced speeder. We had it cremated with her when she passed. I just couldn’t see another one of our cats playing with it. 😔
I had one who "adopted" a small ball of tangled up yarn. She'd carry it around with her everywhere and then snuggle up in a blanket with it. "where's your baby"? and she'd go running around like mad trying to find it. She'd bring it with her when she jumped on the bed and push it against my cheek and then snuggle against me with it between us. It was SO funny. She grew out of it but for about 6 months, they were inseparable lol

Thank you for adopting her brother as well! People don't realize how important it is for cats (or dogs) to be with at least 1 other member of their species. Then they'll have fun while you're away at work, rather than resorting to bad habits out of bordom or depression. Im guessing that gratitude for doing that is why you're getting so much attention. I had a Itty bitty girl named Stazz who was a mommas girl when at my boyfriends on the weekends. She would proceed to warn then slap him repeatedly ( claws out😬) if he got to close to me when sleeping.
Such pretty markings. She's getting used to a house environment and might be having anxiety from thinking her good fortune won't last. Just tell her she's safe and it should pass with time and she'll settle down. You're a very nice looking family.
I like this idea. I’ve owned cats and am usually against overly anthropomorphizing cat behavior but at the same time their capacity for having complex emotions cannot be underestimated. Most cats are worthy of love and care, and this one seems to have gone through enough for a lifetime of it. Maybe even nine.
She is a nanny cat. A cat that monitors our behavior and life making sure we are doing things “the right way” or “safe way” When I first had a nanny cat, I was annoyed cause she wasn’t independent like regular cats. Then once I realized what a nanny cat is, I noticed how she was actually watching over me like a nanny. And I grew to love and trust her instincts. But she was a hard core mean cat if she wasn’t your nanny but it was totally out of protection.
She’s a beauty! I live in a very rural area, with many acres of open field, a large pond, and some woods, and have 18 cats between myself and my daughter - all cats that someone else dumped or that were born to a pregnant female we rescued. A fair part of every day is spent just feeding and spending time with them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. When I walk down the hill to work on the garden, I generally find myself leading a sort of cat parade, ‘cause everyone wants to see what I’m doing.
I think a copilot cat is a very friendly attention seeking and curious companion on all your trips around the house or yard. Maybe underfoot or on shoulders and on keyboards and behind you on your chair.
We rescued a male cat in a blizzard out west while traveling. He was skin and bones. Bad teeth, not neutered. He loves to meow in on every conversation and somehow managed to make our other cats and dogs get along. If my husband and I raise our voices to each other he meows with discontent. He’s regal, very relaxed, lovingly looks into your eyes. He’s a huge now. Cali mix, long hair, just beautiful and a Joy.
She is on same brain wave frequency as you! She honors you by trying to speak. You can possibly train her to speak a few words. Your name would come first. Hello. Food. Outside. No... Buy a brush & brush her same time every day. Use as a reward. Give fresh food & water every meal. Observe her behavior when you meditate-you’ll like that! So will she. Use your brain to communicate with her. Sounds odd. But cats sense brainwaves. The ancients noticed this, considered it “Godlike”
I have 6 cats. One of them is a talker. As soon as I get home he "reports" everything that has happened all day for about 3 minutes, then bumps me until I pick him up. If I pick him up right away, he still gives the 3 minute report! He also chews me out when I take the dog out to play in the backyard.
She's a calico - in Australia we call them "Naughty Torties" (even tri color ones). They tend to be chatty, are extremely intelligent, sassy and naughty. I have a rescued calico too & understand the guy's pain lol, they're divas!

And while she was super quiet at the start, I shouldve known the diva energy in her when it only took her 2 weeks to evolve from a super starving baby to having opinions about the types of wet food she was getting and demanding specific ones. She also pretty quickly figured out that if she yells at me enough she can just drink water from the faucet and ignore her nice and fresh water bowl completely. I call her velcro cat cause she follows me even when i shower and demands to supervise everything i do. She will climb on every single piece of furniture im at when im dusting.

That is exactly like the cat I got for my daughter. Peaches runs the house with an iron paw. Her brother, Raphael, is at least 4lbs heavier. He doesn't dare cross her. But she follows me around all day and meows at everything. I open anything, she's in it seeing what I'm getting. I go up the stairs, she's one step ahead of me the whole way up. I walk into the any room in the house, she follows and flops down to watch me work while doing that cute kinda "purr-meow" she does. Couldn't imagine my life without our cats. ❤
I have a part Maine coon part rag doll and she's just as bad as the cat in the video if not worse lol. I think it depends on the cats personality more than anything, I had a pure bred Siamese and he was so independent and only would cuddle at bed time lol.
This is true at least to my experience. One of my babies is calico and she's quite a talker compared to my orange tabby. Craves for attention, and sometimes accompany me sleep at night by sleeping in the couch near my bed.
First calico lived to 22 years old and was very demanding. On our 2nd calico now, also constantly running the show. If she doesn't get her way fast enough she runs up and down stairs, jumps onto banister and her tail goes from thin to about 4 inch diameter.
This is exactly what my rescue does too; she came off the streets of Oakcliff and had a few kittens of her own. She’s hands down the most vocal cat I’ve ever encountered and my friends who visit all day the same. She is the bane of my existence, yet she is the reason I still get up every morning and press on through trying times. Not because she’s sweet, but because she bites my eyebrows to wake me up so I can make her mouse toy come to life so that she may repeatedly kill it.
Oh, don't I know this. At least my cat only throws whatever is on the nighttable across the room when I don't get up at 5:30am every morning to feed her. Only after my property is flung away she paws at my face... Sometimes with claws. There is a reason why I have throwable objects on my nighttable... It's a warning Thank good I am allowed to go back to sleep after feeding her
@Cici Yes. As she’s become older, she has become more independent. She still comes calling and will sit close to me if I’m at my desk but she’s quieter and more accepting that I’m NOT going to get up and come outside with her. Her caterwauling when she wanted me to physically interact with her - and it was every few minutes- was earsplitting. I used to have to close my study door to be able to concentrate and even then, after a few minutes, she would start up at the door.
Susan - Good for you! One thing I learned from my sweetheart adopted kitty is that it’s best to think in years. I have had my little guy for four years and he is always learning to be a better boy (and he’s already wonderful).
I have a 3 year old tuxedo; it took her well over a year to adjust to us and trust us; it took her even longer than that to accept (and play with) her big brother.
We got our Oriental Shorthair mix, Jimmy Choo, as a 6 wk old orphan...after the 1st 2 wks of my carrying him around 24/7, I did design a little papoose for him. But before I could sew it he decided he was sick & tired of being carried around! He's been a wiggly chatty-cat-brat ever since.... except for when I lay down: then he always snuggles right up between my arm and my chest. 🥰

I had a blue point Siamese named Smokey. Mom's husband threw him against a wall & so I bought him with me, a month or so after, Smokey's kidneys failed him, the vet broke all 4 of his legs & they were in casts & he wouldn't let me bring Smokey home & he died!!! 🤧😭. It's been 15 years & I still miss him. My dear baby boy 🥰

I was always a dog person, but when my 14-year-old dog passed away, I knew I could never replace her with another dog, so I’d be grudgingly got a cat. That was two weeks ago & The first three days I was ready to bring her back to the shelter, but now it’s been two weeks & in spite of myself I am growing very attached to her. She is special. I never knew a cat could be so affectionate. ❤️

My Daffodil had a toy spider she would carry around, use as a pillow, talk to (while it was in her mouth 😹). We called it spider, but pronounced speeder. We had it cremated with her when she passed. I just couldn’t see another one of our cats playing with it. 😔

I had one who "adopted" a small ball of tangled up yarn. She'd carry it around with her everywhere and then snuggle up in a blanket with it. "where's your baby"? and she'd go running around like mad trying to find it. She'd bring it with her when she jumped on the bed and push it against my cheek and then snuggle against me with it between us. It was SO funny.
She grew out of it but for about 6 months, they were inseparable lol

I like this idea. I’ve owned cats and am usually against overly anthropomorphizing cat behavior but at the same time their capacity for having complex emotions cannot be underestimated. Most cats are worthy of love and care, and this one seems to have gone through enough for a lifetime of it. Maybe even nine.
She is a nanny cat. A cat that monitors our behavior and life making sure we are doing things “the right way” or “safe way”
When I first had a nanny cat, I was annoyed cause she wasn’t independent like regular cats. Then once I realized what a nanny cat is, I noticed how she was actually watching over me like a nanny. And I grew to love and trust her instincts. But she was a hard core mean cat if she wasn’t your nanny but it was totally out of protection.

I live in a very rural area, with many acres of open field, a large pond, and some woods, and have 18 cats between myself and my daughter - all cats that someone else dumped or that were born to a pregnant female we rescued. A fair part of every day is spent just feeding and spending time with them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. When I walk down the hill to work on the garden, I generally find myself leading a sort of cat parade, ‘cause everyone wants to see what I’m doing.

We rescued a male cat in a blizzard out west while traveling. He was skin and bones. Bad teeth, not neutered. He loves to meow in on every conversation and somehow managed to make our other cats and dogs get along. If my husband and I raise our voices to each other he meows with discontent. He’s regal, very relaxed, lovingly looks into your eyes. He’s a huge now. Cali mix, long hair, just beautiful and a Joy.

I have 6 cats. One of them is a talker. As soon as I get home he "reports" everything that has happened all day for about 3 minutes, then bumps me until I pick him up. And while she was super quiet at the start, I shouldve known the diva energy in her when it only took her 2 weeks to evolve from a super starving baby to having opinions about the types of wet food she was getting and demanding specific ones. She also pretty quickly figured out that if she yells at me enough she can just drink water from the faucet and ignore her nice and fresh water bowl completely. I call her velcro cat cause she follows me even when i shower and demands to supervise everything i do. She will climb on every single piece of furniture im at when im dusting.

I used to feed a bunch of ferals, and the calico was the most demanding, can confirm.
This is true at least to my experience. One of my babies is calico and she's quite a talker compared to my orange tabby. Craves for attention, and sometimes accompany me sleep at night by sleeping in the couch near my bed.

First calico lived to 22 years old and was very demanding. On our 2nd calico now, also constantly running the show. If she doesn't get her way fast enough she runs up and down stairs, jumps onto banister and her tail goes from thin to about 4 inch diameter.
She is an absolute cutie, and really seems to have accepted her new human pet into her family. How absolutely adorable!

This is exactly what my rescue does too; she came off the streets of Oakcliff and had a few kittens of her own. She’s hands down the most vocal cat I’ve ever encountered and my friends who visit all day the same. She is the bane of my existence, yet she is the reason I still get up every morning and press on through trying times.
Not because she’s sweet, but because she bites my eyebrows to wake me up so I can make her mouse toy come to life so that she may repeatedly kill it.

My cat was like that and she is a rescue cat. She calmed down after a couple of years.

@Cici Yes. As she’s become older, she has become more independent. She still comes calling and will sit close to me if I’m at my desk but she’s quieter and more accepting that I’m NOT going to get up and come outside with her. Her caterwauling when she wanted me to physically interact with her - and it was every few minutes- was earsplitting. I used to have to close my study door to be able to concentrate and even then, after a few minutes, she would start up at the door.
Susan - Good for you! One thing I learned from my sweetheart adopted kitty is that it’s best to think in years. I have had my little guy for four years and he is always learning to be a better boy (and he’s already wonderful).

I have a 3 year old tuxedo; it took her well over a year to adjust to us and trust us; it took her even longer than that to accept (and play with) her big brother.
He needs a baby sling to carry her around when she’s needy lol.

We got our Oriental Shorthair mix, Jimmy Choo, as a 6 wk old orphan...after the 1st 2 wks of my carrying him around 24/7, I did design a little papoose for him. But before I could sew it he decided he was sick & tired of being carried around! He's been a wiggly chatty-cat-brat ever since.... except for when I lay down: then he always snuggles right up between my arm and my chest. 🥰

She will calm down. My cat took a year. She had to get over some hard past experiences. Now very much better, relaxed & comfortable.
