Just did my Zwift ride while watching this video. Thanks so much. I really love the Fun Facts, History, and Famous People. That all makes the time go by so fast on the indoor trainer. I prefer your videos to any others I seen on TH-cam. I rode outdoors on Monday, but the weather has been cold and rainy since. I can't wait for spring.
As the cold weather is creeping into the Delaware valley, this video is just what I needed, also being recently retired I am so happy to see you enjoying your time off, thanks for sharing another great adventure. Hope to see you on the trails someday, I always keep a look out for you. Super cool looking trail btw.
lol…it is indeed creeping, along with the rain, fog, etc. I try to embrace the winter the best I can but I also start to miss the bike. 😊 stay warm and enjoy your retirement! Let’s hope our paths cross. (Btw, someone recently emailed me that they rode past me on a trail but were too shy to say hi-yikes, don’t do that. 😳)
thanks for sharing. I'm a life-long Floridian and you passed near my home on the shores of Lake Aopka. Thanks for showing the world what the real Florida looks like. Hopefully places like you explored will last a long time. You should expose North C central Florida, places like Gainesville, Cedar key are so uniquely Floridian and worth a trip
Florida is a beautiful state. And, yeah, I’m so happy to see the less visited parts that are equally amazing. Hey, good for you living near Lake Apopka. Gorgeous area.
Aww man Brian, PERFECT timing! Got about 43 days until the official HuRaCaN Grand Depart and this will be my fourth lap around the route after dragging Duzer along in 2024. The stoke level is absolutely maximum right now and your timing couldn't be better. Great video as always!
Total respect to you. That is an amazing route/adventure. We were SPENT at the end and we even cut some corners here and there. I love the way Karlos puts bike trails in the mix, dirt roads, sand, etc. someday I may grow the courage to do the real thing! Best wishes to you. Go for it!!
Enjoyed the video reminds me of here, all that white boggy sand to ride on. Bane's channel looks like a good recommendation. Pedal strike sure is painful but your shins hitting a towball is worse I reckon. Maybe call it 'pedalwhacked' or pedalonshinsting.
Pedalwhacked is pretty awesome. That Florida sand is really something else. Thick. Grabs your wheel and twists it sideways. Well, not a fat bike wheel but you know what I mean.
Bryan, again another great video production. There are 3 versions of the huracan - which one did you ride? Here’s a fun fact - the huracan roughly circles the largest 55+ community in the world. We have miles of paved trails within and then miles of trails outside the bubble. Did you climb Sugarloaf Mtn?
Good questions all. We asked Karlos to customize it to avoid the big water crossings but include as much single track as possible. Even then, we still cut some corners like Sugarloaf Mtn. My weak excuse is that we wanted to have lunch with Thomas. 😂 (yeah…right) If I were to ever do this again (I may summon the courage someday) I would configure a mountain bike with bikepacking gear vs my fat bike with panniers. My quads are just now returning to normal. It’s a helluva adventure.
i was thinking of mentioning the huracan to you. but its a bit brutal for the type of riding you do. glad to see you rode one of those routes. but at your pace! when i see those fat tire bikes i look for pedal assist somewhere on the bike, tho they have blew past me on while riding my road ish hybrid. and without a motor! btw, it has yet to fall below 60 degrees here at the end of the amtrak line
It is indeed a tough route. We were SPENT and we even cut some corners here and there. The fat bike was awesome for about 25% of the route. The rest was a grind. My quads were screaming at the end of each day. Looking forward to returning for some better weather! 😊
@ it was pretty good, made me laugh out loud for real. I really appreciate the shout out. As a TH-camr you probably know what it’s like to hear from other people you watch lol, greatest stroke to the ego I’ve had all year lol
I am doing what is called the Central Florida Loop which looks similar to this ride but it is all on roads or trails. You should have told me you were doing this. I would have ridden a day with you on the road portion.
Cool! Let’s compare notes at some point. We weren’t really sure what we were getting ourselves into. The map we used had a lot of other off-road areas. We cut some corners at certain points. Sorry I didn’t check in. I wasn’t sure if you were down there full time now. More than likely I’m coming back. Maybe we could synch up at some point. Safe travels, Mario
Hey Bryan, you did it! You did the Central Florida "Big O". It was good seeing you and Kevin again and doing some riding together. Thanks for the shout out, much appreciated. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I guess the last day was the hardest. Who else could ride 300 miles on a Fat Bike!! I'm sure I'll see you soon again somewhere in Florida or maybe just move here permanently! 😅. Take care and Merry Christmas! 🎄🚲
Bryan… you are getting much better at this TH-cam stuff… I’ve been watching since you started.. I have been a bike tourer since the 80s .. done both coast twice , RAGBRIA 3 times and many more.. I am headed to retirement next year… my riding partner has passed and I plan to do many trips once I retire… main reason I watch your channel… getting ideas Do you find solo trips versus rides with people better? or is having a friend such as Kevin better… I have not found anyone since my dear friend Alex passed willing to do this adventure stuff with me… can I borrow Kevin.. lol
Thank you 🙏🏻 losing some close friends was what prompted my (somewhat) early retirement so I totally understand. I certainly enjoy my solitude. I like the time to be alone, to contemplate life, extended prayer, etc. but I also enjoy the social parts of riding with a friend. But like you said, it requires the right sort of person with a compatible mindset. I’m actually working on a video about finding/being a great riding partner because I get asked a lot about this. Thanks for watching, Gary. I appreciate it.

Cool! Always glad to hear that. Thanks for the encouragement. Winter is coming…

Looks like it's the Lite'ish hybrid version. Blends the the Lite and OG routes for maximum fun.
Good questions all. We asked Karlos to customize it to avoid the big water crossings but include as much single track as possible. Even then, we still cut some corners like Sugarloaf Mtn. My weak excuse is that we wanted to have lunch with Thomas. 😂 (yeah…right)

There ya go…”maximum fun.” I like that. Personally I think Karlos is just built differently. 😂

Dude, I’m dying over here. I really appreciate the shout out dude. Made my day lol
Also, so far the video is fantastic. I saw Tom’s side of the meet up already, just made it cooler
lol…how was that impression? 😂 good stuff, dude. I always enjoy your videos.
It was fun to cross paths. If you’re riding in Florida, there’s always a good chance he is nearby!
@ it was pretty good, made me laugh out loud for real.
I really appreciate the shout out.

@@RideAlongAdventures he’s always out and about, lots of posting!
This is the best channel on TH-cam.
You are too kind. Glad you enjoy it.
Alright here we go! On the trainer and ready to watch as I ride. Been looking forward to this since it popped up in my feed!
Let the training begin!!! 🚴
So glad you got to enjoy my favorite trail- the withlacoochee trail!
Love your videos!
Great trail! It was great to ride more of it this time.
If there was a mic around me when I ride, people would think I lost my mind. Great video.
That’s an awesome quote!! I know what you mean. 😂
How were the fat tires on pavement?
lol…not good, my dude. Not good. 😂
Dude! SPOT ON imitation of Bane😂👍🚴🏽♂️
lol. I worked on that. 😂 He’s got a great channel.
@ Lol. That was some “quality content!”😉
All my favorite guys wrapped up in one video !! Good job Brian !! This loop looks like an adventurous and really fun ride !!
Good dudes all of them.
@ I hope to one day happen to come across either you, Thomas or Bane on a trail. I would love to ride along a ways.

I got back to DE yesterday for 17 days. I recognized MANY of those roads and the town I live in was right in the center of the loop.
Let me know if you’ve got time for breakfast. We can compare notes. 😊

Thanks, Thomas. Great to see you again. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hope to cross paths soon.
Nice cameo Thomas!

I was expecting Bono to break out in song during that intro music....
I gotta make more money at this before Bono will appear. 😂
I too lahk and subscrahb to Bane!❤😊
Good channel, good dude.
