0:37 haha, someone cheered when she said 'kick the ship's cat'
Johnny got sick street cred for having a Saga T-shirt.
Which street would that be?
Sandi actually said "You're the most beautiful woman, I've NEVER seen", interestingly.
askekongstad Sometimes being multilingual trips me up, but getting "never" and "ever" wrong is far worse than the syntax of that sentence...
I'm pretty sure the "lying in two languages", was just referring to her saying she was the most beautiful women she's ever seen, in both Danish and English. No one would ever use that sentence in Danish (or in English for that matter) to say that someone is not beautiful.
It's understandable, though. She hasn't lived in Denmark for a very long time.
Well it is hard to see what's behind the makeup.
No she didn’t, she clearly says ever.
@@Cunnanejoe No. She said “never” (aldri). Ever is “noensinne”. She also got the sentence structure wrong. It should be “noensinne har” and not “har noensinne”.
What does Johnny say at about 39:42? Sounds to me like "Massive givin' la mate. Twatted all of 'em."
"Massive gorilla mate. Twatted all of them" (on the back of his joke a moment earlier that Jimmy had not seen King Kong)
@@ryanblumenow Oh yeah, thanks!
It's so weird that the British can't imagine Napoleon, someone seen as fighting oppressive monarchies around Europe, being popular.
I mean, the absolute madlad is mentioned in the Polish anthem for Christ sake.
In the Netherlands we still got a monument dedicated to him and one for his brother. Same goes for western Germany, northern Italy and Belgium iirc.
And they seem to have a thing for him in France as well.
At the time they did, but today it's harder to imagine. He was the enemy after all.
He turned into one himself though.
Calling a man who crowned himself emperor and ennobled several of his siblings “anti-monarchist” seems a bit of a stretch. One could say he was against established monarchies, but highly in favor of a Bonaparte monarchy.
Soooo. Sandy's Danish is quite rusty. I'm Danish myself. She actually said "You're the most beautiful woman I've never seen". But close enough 😆
Unless the word choice was deliberate.
The kilt certainly wasn't invented in the 1720s, Sandi is talking about the 'modern' kilt which is more of an adaptation of the kilt although it did become popular and is now the type worn usually at weddings. The original kilt dates back much further than that, at least into the 17th century, possibly back to Roman times.
Well, to my knowledge, there is no indication it goes back further then the 17th century. We might assume it is based on earlier, similar clothing, but it might have just as well been invented then. We just don't know. Personally, given that the sources from the 17th century point to it being the clothing of the rich, and not the general population, I doubt it's much older.
I love Jimmy Carr's laugh.
Titan Uranus were merchant ships? Yeah when you see the torpedoes coming that'll do it.
I believe it was the medals that Nelson was wearing, rather than his epaulettes, that attracted the attention of the French sniper since other officers on the Victory's quarter deck would also have been wearing the latter. It is true that earlier in his career Nelson saw two English naval officers in France sporting the new French fashion and I believe referred to them as 'great coxcombs'. They were later adopted by the British and hence Nelson would have been wearing them at Trafalgar.
As regards the 'popularity' of Napoleon and the numbers of people who flocked to see him on board the Bellerophon at Plymouth, I get the impression that most were rather more intrigued to see the man they had been fighting and who had caused the country great misery for twenty two years.
Is it just me or has Roni had some work done on her face.
~shrug~ Probably. Most celebs end up getting it done because we expect them to look perfect forever, and shred them if they dare gain weight or age. Jimmy's had work done as well, (at least Botox) but it's almost always only the women who get held up for it.
what did ronni say at 9:58?
"Transgender surgery does not always go right."
11:50 what is Johnny saying, can't make it out?
SpaceMonkey033 he said his brother had a tattoo done in a foreign language and he asked what it meant, his brother said “honesty”, then their mum walked in and he covered it up and pretended he hadn’t gotten it.
Thanks for the Up OP. Can’t find these anywhere in my country.
Oooh, so dinosaurs were in fact... lagom blooded? ;)
There is a rhyme to remember which side is port as follows: 1 the captain was a silly man, he left his port in the cabin
Coloring clothing yellow with horse urine is complete nonsense. First of all, the hemoglobin in urine is not a sensible dye. It may temporarily leave a tinge, but it doesn't attach to any fibers. Secondly, yellow is literally the single most common natural dye you can find in plants - and I think collecting a few birch leaves (as just one example) is quite a bit easier than collecting some kegs worth of horse urine.
Most likely, someone misunderstood that urine was used in dyeing - as a mordant. Dyeing blue by using woad required urine to transform (reduce) the dye into a soluble state that could be applied to textiles.
Urine was actually used to bleach clothing white. They'd leave it to develop ammoniac, and soak the fabric in it over a long period. Even leather can be made white that way.
Sandi's Danish is really rusty.
It is rather embarrassing reading "she's hot"-comments on TH-cam, but my god, Ronni is absolutely stunning.
Well, I'd say she kinda was, but for quite some time she looked too artificial, as far as I'm concerned that's not a good thing.
@Tatsujiro Kurogane
I meant it the other way round ...but that's personal preference.
She certainly looks younger now than years ago but that only comes with an inevitable artificiality.
@Tatsujiro Kurogane
Yes, I also like her on the show.
What she does to her face or her body is her own (if I like it or not).
I feel a little sorry for Mrs Vegas.
Has Ms Ancona had plastic surgery, I wonder?
"In space, no gravity"...Oh Sandi, get your facts straight. Stephen would never say such nonsense.
Oh c'mon, he made wrong statements all the time!
Ronni is not funny, but she's hot so that's okay. Johnny gets laughs because people don't get what he's saying, but he says it in such a confusing way that they at least know when to laugh. But Jimmy is simply lightning fast.
Johnny Vegas is brilliant, you have to have a very sharp mind capable of violent swerves to understand his humour, but he is the favourite comedian of many top-notch comedians who understand his brilliance.
