Techvarium I took my iPhone and they gave me a new iPhone 7 and the problem is starting again. Do you think they would give me an upgrade or at least a downgrade to iPhone 6s?
These affected models should have been officially recalled and destroyed, my iPhone 7 does this periodically now and there is definitely no way to get it replaced or fixed, but what happens is the service comes back by itself after a while, i don't know why it only started doing this within the last 2 weeks.
I had the same problem on my iPhone 7, so taking advantage of my sister's trip to Miami I had it reviewed in an applestore, they said they would solve my problem for free, but my surprise was great when I received a receipt for 300 dollars, so here I have it of paperweight
I was having this issue. I fixed it by slamming it on the carpeted floor flushed, on the flat sides, a couple times. Not hard enough to crack the screen, yet still hard enough. And haven’t had an issue ever since with it losing service and saying it needs an update to work again. So I think the real issue has to do with whatever component reads the sim is slightly off centered or something. Slamming it kinda set it back into place where it s supposed to be.
IT WORKED! Thank you for your comment! Well I didn't bang my phone on any surface. I opened it up (using my battery replacement kit i bought before) and I saw that there were a few loose screws (because I dropped my phone before haha) and now it's BACK IN SERVICE.
I did that once and it would loose service again and again and it became a repeated cycle where I would loose service out of No where then bang it aggressively to get it back working but it only was short term and lasted for 3 hours at most but I’ve upgraded cuz that shit is ridiculous

Just make sure you have no "liquid damage". Even if you have a phone with THIS problem, qualifies based on model and timeline of recall, AND no other evidence of liquid damage, they will not repair it for free. They know the problem, but if the little indicator by the ear speaker (you know, where you might sweat and answer a phone call) is red, then it's "liquid damage". Voids the warranty. I know this from experience, because my phone has never been near water when this issue started happening. I get it, if it's water damaged, the logic board is a pain to repair the issue (if micro-soldering the logic board), but everyone says apple doesn't bother repairing the logic board. So many factors add up to making me assume: Apple messed up badly, and they are doing their best to not pay for it by finding as many ways out from free repairs. OH, and yes, you find out if it truly qualifies for a "free" repair once opened by the technician outside of their Apple store, so they hope you go "well, shit, I already sent it and they have it, and I NEED a phone, so just fix it...here's my money." The repair is $319 for anyone who wants to know, btw. LOL.
Techvarium it is NOT an instant swap, maybe in some other countries but in the US, if you’re out of warranty, it has to be sent out to a depot repair facility and can take up to 14 days

Take the two screws out at the bottom of your phone then take the screen off and be careful taking the screen off your signal piece in the inside of the phone on the bottom left is loose or the two screws for that is out of place I had to find out by myself and it will work right away. My Verizon store accused me of trying to switch carriers and sent me to Apple. All I did was wake up to a phone that no longer gets signal. The sim card was tested on another phone and it works. Will try Apple next. The phone is a couple years old so they may tell me to pound sand too.

I was told by the first customer service rep that as long as the phone did not have liquid damage, they would fix it for me for free since the problem was on their end. It took them four days to identify that the camera lens was cracked and the dock connector was damaged. I spoke to a senior adviser this time around and said there wasn't anything they could do. Even though those two things had nothing to do with the problem on their end. They tried to charge me $307 to fix it. Here's the kicker, I could get a totally new iPhone 7 for $300. Absolute sham! They screwed up and they don't want to ante up the cash to fix it. Now here I am with a absolutely useless iPhone.
I had model A1660. It had this happen so I called Apple, and bc it was within 4 years of purchase, they forwarded me to a supervisor that scheduled me to drop it off. Apple went through the phone and surprisingly agreed to replace it… with THE SAME MODEL NUMBER. It works w/ calls but the internet signal is weak. Internet signal won’t work inside of my house and is either lightning fast outside or nothing at all… why would they replace it with another device that is from the same recall????? Now I have no idea what to do……..

We dont have apple store near by but we have powermac. I went to their store abd i was referred to PowerMac Service center in Quezon City. I went there and show my phone, but when they checked, they said i should bring it to the country where it was bought because the model number is no longer part of their coverage. It was a gift from the US so they wanted me to bring it to US. So inconvenient.

Lena Andrei unfortunately, this problem is not fixable... the only way is to replace the phone. See if you can go online and contact Apple support and maybe you can ship your iPhone to them

Wow, sorry to hear that. If repairs take more one day, in this case your Apple should have offered you a loaner phone for free. Every Apple store near me offer that option. If your local Apple store does not offer that option then ask to speak to an Apple store manager and I am sure you will get a loaner iPhone for free if your iPhone 7 qualifies for a replacement or repairs
The problem being that any cosmetic damage to your screen and Apple will not repair the no service issue. I have a one cm crack on the top of the screen, out of the viewable area and Apple would not repair the service problem. The issues are unrelated and the crack is old and has no impact on the functionality of the phone, but not only was I refused, but I was treated poorly. I am reconsidering purchasing Apple products in the future.

THIS VIDEO IS FALSE. I just went to the Apple store, schedule an appointment, met with a technician, and they said I’d have to pay to fix it. Because my phone battery is old and my screen is cracked they told me I would have to pay $350 for a whole new unit. Even though this phone was “recalled” because of the excess damage they could not fix my no service issue.

Lena Andrei unfortunately, this problem is not fixable... the only way is to replace the phone. See if you can go online and contact Apple support and maybe you can ship your iPhone to them

They wouldn’t fix mine. They told me it was broke and I needed new one. I went back the next day to buy a new one and the guy that day fixed my phone in less than 5 minutes. He told me he would get in trouble if the other guy was there, because he’s supposed to tell me it’s broke so I’ll buy a new one. Scammers
I was told they couldn’t fix this at the apple store that it would have to be sent off for repair but it would take 2 weeks for it to come back !!!😡🤬
Wow, sorry to hear that. If repairs take more one day, in this case your Apple should have offered you a loaner phone for free. Every Apple store near me offer that option. If your local Apple store does not offer that option then ask to speak to an Apple store manager and I am sure you will get a loaner iPhone for free if your iPhone 7 qualifies for a replacement or repairs

The problem being that any cosmetic damage to your screen and Apple will not repair the no service issue. I have a one cm crack on the top of the screen, out of the viewable area and Apple would not repair the service problem. The issues are unrelated and the crack is old and has no impact on the functionality of the phone, but not only was I refused, but I was treated poorly. I am reconsidering purchasing Apple products in the future.

Apple garbage store refuse to fix it I have 4 devices and each of the devices was rejected for a stupid reason one was "unauthorised modifications " which make no sense but they still refuse to fix they know the motherboard is faulty and its the device they sold is defective but refuse to fix apple supervisor told me the only solution will be to through the device in the garbage, is there any way to fix this issue without apple scam store ?

when i bought my phone it was pretty much okay , 2 days later it started showing no service , i had to restart the phone every 2 days because it didnt stop . 1 month later it showed ''an update is required to use mobile data on this iphone'' when this message showed i was scrolling normally on instagram , i sent it to the store where bought it and they said u have dropped it and if u want to fix it u have to pay 50$ , i told them how the problem started but they didnt care 🙂, i took my phone and i just have it for social media thats all . Yeah they extended the warranty period but same I’m also got bit late like 5months over and apple refused to give new phone 😕😕 they should fix the phone even it’s out of warranty

They said that in my country (Chile) the program is not currently working to change my iphone. They said me that i have to send the phone to brasil or usa. Now i doubt, because i can send it here to a local repair company and they said me that they can repair my iphone for 100$. What can i do? Great video
Also, the imei from the sim site is incorrect, i called apple and they give me the real imei. I think the company that refurbished the iPhone putted a new logicboard with new imei.
