My people usually will tie cabbage up with rice straw at the end of fall, which will improve the quality of the harvest part during winter. and it will be the best time to have a taste after snow. Cheers from China.

Hi Nancy and Hollis, I've just started some seed tonight ,and we call it Chinese cabbage here in Scotland, this is the first time I've tried to grow it, but I don't think I'll get anywhere near the bumper crop you have, it's too short a summer here and the weather can be very unpredictable, you can get four seasons in one day lol 😂 it's lovely to see some sunshine ☀️ it's very cold here, best wishes Carol

Hollis This is an update regarding my winter garden. Last fall I wrote to you on your soil video indicating that my veggies simply were no longer performing. You suggested repairing the soil with your soil mix formula.
I raised my boxes an additional 10 inches, removed about 8 inches of old soil and filled the boxes with your formula. Here we are five months or so later. My sugar peas are eight foot high, four foot wide monsters. My greens, kale, spinach etc are supplying half my neighbors, and carrots and green onions the same.
Next month I will be adding another 8 inches of height to my boxes (easier to work with), adding more of your soil mix, and planting my tomatoes, Cucs, etc.
So needless to say, your suggestions have put new life into my garden, and made me the green thumb of the neighborhood.
    Thanks for your help.

Very impressive how well you have set up your gardening system to grow things with convenience. I'm a first time grower of Napa cabbage, or called "Hakusai" where I live in Asia. It's doing real well and as you say, it germinates easily and grows quickly with beautiful leaves. Last night I tried a foliar feeding of kelp extract, and the plants were even still alive this morning, ha! Leafy veggies seem to respond well to foliar seaweed. Generally Napa cabbage is planted here towards fall, but I put some in early.

We give some to My mom and my aunt and uncle. My mom also get to share with some of her other friends from church who are widowers. We are truly blessed. Nancy
