I'm addicted to chaklis, but have never made them myself. WAY LONG AGO we used to have that kinda sev/chakli press in our home, but no more. I think I need to try and find one and get cracking again! Thanks for this lovely video.

Those would never last 3 -4 weeks in my cupboard. My husband would finish them by the next day. Thank you for sharing your lovely Mum and her skill with us.

That was my thought! a couple days at best. At my best friend's house with 5 people, it wouldn't make it though the day.

Good thing I had some store bought chakli on hand while watching this. Mouth watering recipe. I immediately indulged in a chakli. Nothing like homemade, though.
Would your mum please make chole batura?

Lemon Rice is favorite rice dish of mine. Good friends from Madras who I also worked with always brought it to potlucks. As long as that was there I had something to eat and enjoy!

9:02 I've got a sweet tooth at the moment so I thought of gajar ka halwa but you've already done it with your mum 😄 I also thought of sheer khurma (I don't know if you spell it like that) and I don't know if you've already made it. To be honest, I don't think there's any Indian dessert I don't like so any of those will be great 😄

Looks lovely and so crunchy. Is that a curry leaf plant growing on the window sill? I think I’ve tried the same dish with curry leaves (muruku).

Thank you for this recipe. My mum grew up in India, (Tamil Nadu). Whenever my sister and I go to the Indian store in the larger city near us, mum asks us to get her Murukku. You mentioned there is a small difference between chakli and murukku. Is it enough to make a huge difference or could I make the chakli and call it murukku for her? I believe she would enjoy they homemade so much more.
