@Hank The names are swapped in western releases because capcom of america feared getting into trouble with Mike Tyson, but「Boxer」's original name is Mike Bison

The name change is what I realized because in Japanese
⏩Balrog's name is M.Bison (Mike Bison) like Mike Tyson,
⏩M.Bison is Vega and
⏩Vega's name is Balrog.

Vega (claw) should've been named Vega from jump since its a Spanish name and he's Spanish.

The game I played as a kid. The American version was M.Bison was from Thailand, Balrog was the Mike Tyson look alike, and Vega was the guy in the mask with the claw.

How do you perform the charge attacks so quickly? Does this have anything to do with you using an emulator?
Kwan Holloway Kinda. You can hold right while doing other attacks to charge the move during their duration, and that includes other charge attacks.
An Emulator could be doing one of two things to give an advantage.
1. Because the inputs aren't bound to a physical stick, he may be able to hit forward and back at the same time, allowing him to charge his attacks constantly.
Or
2. Because the stick doesn't have to physically move from left to right, the frame he flicks right to start the charge attack, he can flick it back to the left to charge it again.
Both of these would be humanly impossible TAS Advantages.
Genuine Angus Beef thank you for that elaborate response..I've always been fascinated with TAS video and Imo, part of the allure comes from seeing the abilities performed using such a system. :)
@@kwanholloway4112 I'm pretty sure there isn't any tricks being done here, besides frame perfect timing. The only time he spams special moves is when using the Turnaround Punch (aka TAP), which doesn't have a motion input. It's just holding PPP or KKK. Anybody can do charge punches nonstop if you put TAP's between them. You can even charge two TAP's at once and then spam them, like in the Dhalsim fight.

I have just been doing research and the story is Balrog, Vega, and M.Bison are the English names in the US but in Europe and Japan, their names were changed, Capcom was afraid Mike Tyson was going to SUE them for using his name as a illusion to him. So, they changed the names...

I love boxer. I remember way back in the day, people thought boxing was weak and a lot of people slept on him. I personally love using him. Especially against shotos. Reminds me of a snake. All the Disadvantages in life, yet he survives in spite of them all.

It's Mike Bison in Japan, and it should've stayed like that for international releases, but Capcom was scared of potential lawsuits.
(Plus, Ken stage music played on Guile's stage would've strongly referenced Top Gun, but again, Capcom scared of potential lawsuit.)

20幾年前那個時代我在打的時候從來沒看過這些也沒有這種東西可以看全都是靠自己和別的玩家對戰所累積的經驗可是TAS用所有角色的打法卻幾乎都和我的打法差不多這還真的是活見鬼了如果不是親眼看到這些打死我都不相信世界上有這種荒謬的事
Does anyone else want to see a combo counter to see how much is actually a combo?
Combos in this are low count enough to just count them in your head
soulintake I mean what counts as a combo, and the computer not choosing to block delayed hits... for example, Vega can throw a late fierce, it connects on the last frame, then if you charge the knee press, 2-1 from low strong punch into press for a 4 hit combo. Cause M.Bison was more of a Counter hitter on this version than combo monster. Like Vs E.Honda- some those combos look legit

Unless he could hold the buttons for about 60 in game seconds, not get hit, and also do enough damage and make it fun to watch, no. I wish he would have too though.

Anyone can explain why his name is mr Bison instead of Balrog? I'm pretty sure that the boxer guy was Balrog, while mr Bison was the boss. :| Anyone?
In Japan, Balrog's name is Bison because Mike Bison, Vega's name is Balrog, and M.Bison's name is Vega. When Capcom USA watched this, they decided to switch their name to not get in trouble with Mike Tyson

I do remember when Bison in the American version (there Balrog) was nerfed badly because his dashing punch didn't hit crouchers, but the Japanese version does, which makes him more powerful. I do remember in the original CE almost nobody played him because of that.
