Thanks for updating the video..in my experience in producing the the Lightfoot Guides accurate research is the toughest part of the job.
Particularly now, the VF needs more and more pilgrims to follow the trail and all resources that help folks safely on their way should be welcomed.

I've just ordered volume 1 of your books. I recently walked from Canterbury to Dover which was wonderful (we had walked the whole of the North Downs way) and south of Canterbury the walk becomes La Francigena. Only frustrating part was once we arrived in Dover the signposts seemed to disapear so we didnt know where the officel path was through the town (asked locals but didnt know) Maybe your book will help next time!
Looking forward to the guides! Saw a suggestion that some guides offer two days walking from Canterbury to the coast which is not so good for the older pilgrim or not-so-able pilgrim. Hope yours will be a 3 day walk!

You will love the St Francis! I hope next year works out for you. The 2019 (third) printing has lots of important new info and I would definitely recommend picking up a copy before you go. Buon cammino!

These are not the only professional guidebooks on the VF. The Lightfoot Guides (latest edition 2020) are excellent.
@@SandyBrown Perhaps you will be good enough to clarify this point in your video there is an implication that our books are somehow inferior while a cursory glance at book reviews tell a rather different story - my wife an I were sufficiently committed to the route to sink our savings into establishing a publishing company to publish the the first complete guide to the route when no other publisher (nor the association) was interested and since 2007 we have produced 7 updated editions as well as high quality guides to other European routes by a number of other equally committed authors. You might also wish to note that we were first classed as the official end to end guides in 2012
