Congratulations, Leylah! You are a great ambassador for women's tennis -- no grunting, no tantrums, no scandals -- just a great work ethic and a thousand-watt smile!
What a great game! Leylah is fantastic and she is consistently improving. Well deserved win, and looking forward to more! This young lady is a joy to watch 👍👏
I like how Leylah has kept grinding away since she came on the scene, playing everywhere and anyone. She's loss more than she's won by far, but she's gaining confidence in her game and perfecting her shots. I expect her to be in the top ranks soon, when she gets there watch out tennis world she'll be hard to beat!
She's Canadian born and raised, Philippines had no / zero support on her. Stop saying that phrase. It's embarrassing. I'm also a Filipino but please, just don't.
People don’t realize it took a lot of trial and error for her to fix her game after getting to the us open finals. Most top players go through this. Hopefully she’ll carry this to next year!!
7:20 of this video is absolute...... brilliance. I'm kind of at a loss for words at what a brilliant performance she gave throughout the tournament.... but this moment in particular sums it up. THIS Leylah could/can beat anyone in the world. She doesn't just beat you.... she breaks you.
I hope this win would be the start of a rise in ranking for her, She's Canadian with Asian-Latino heritage and she speaks English, French and Spanish Fluently! she's worthy of the spotlight - a Global one at that 🙂♥

Unless it's a GS event, it's not going to mean that much. Sorry, that is just how the sports media rolls!
By the way, did anyone else receive their SS bonus check?
