yeah but wta is really messing things up by removing 250s to make way for 2 week long 1000s which i doubt are making a proft as the cost of operating is so high like wimbledon hardly makes a proft
@@deusexmachina9776The problem was that they put the 96 players Beijing tournament first, then the 56 players Wuhan 1000 tournament and finally the 28/32 players 250/500 tournaments mid October to early November. Guess what the players who lost early Beijing wanted to do something whilst they wait for the rest of the Asia swing. Interestingly,HK got a 250 tournament in the final week of October and the 125 tournament playing now could get better players than that tournament. Same thing happen at Madrid and Rome (which have been converted to 96 players tournaments) and the 125 tournaments played in the second week of those tournaments looked like 500 tournaments with Top 50 players playing (including Navarro who was ranked in the 20s).
I think you will find she got a late entry wildcard just like Simona got a wildcard to play in this tournament. It is another case of tournament organisers giving wildcards to big name players to increase the profile of tournaments. Navarro isn’t playing that well and I doubt she will survive to the final (ie she was better off resting for Wuhan as Zheng should be within striking distance of 7th place of the Race to WTA Final after Beijing).
@@andyc7011 lol yeah i agree Navarro but then agains she got to us open semi after a semi in mexico days before us open started , but there is a reason she has so many wins second behind iga yet 1 title
Simona i really miss you. I am so happy for this victory. I know you lost with Blinkova, but you are playing good and i trust in you❤ good luck at the next tournaments
Just look how certain Institutions and bribery has taken our great tennis into? All players coming from ban or long time injuries do need a while to recover and start winning matches, but a special individual found twice with positive test is playing and winning comfortable without punishment!
the answer is who knows, but here’s one response that matters the most with this 125 itf event: Even so, Hong Kong China Tennis Association chief Michael Cheng Ming-git said he thought the line-up for the tournament, which begins at Victoria Park on Monday was arguably better than some WTA 250 ones. “Usually a top 10 player doesn’t play [in any 125 events] so I’m super happy she is coming to Hong Kong,” Cheng said. “Navarro came through the college route and has done so well on the tour; she is an inspiration to the younger generation.”
Halep is one of the last classic OG WTA players
Only Azarenka and Halep left
Let's see if Kvitova comes back after pregnancy tho.
@@djordjenikolic9059 I would say Wozniacki was pretty OG as well.
@@boringlifeofateenYes, Caroline too
I forgot her for a moment
Unrelated but Emma Navarro entering this tournament is truly giving the movie Challengers lol

That's my girl !!! Unfortunatelly she lost with Blinkova 😭
Good to see her happy & healthy. It's all in the past & she's starting anew.
Can't recover in the next match after this tough battle, which is normal. Hope she can make more progress on her comeback.
Probably back issues gonna be her biggest problem
No more
Well deserved. And. Great to see Good Clean game. .....Good Pleasant End of Match...hugs. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I love how Halep was just standing their wrapped in her towel while the commentator was speaking cantonese and she was like - gurl... wat🤣
We missed Simona ❤
What happened to your best racket smashes video?
Sadly she lost 62 61 to Blinkova today 🥲
But my question is: what is Emma Navarro as a top 10 player doing at the challenger tournament? 🤣🤣🤣
I think she's trying to get more points in order to get to the WTA final
@@bestmusic3496 but the race for the WTA finals does NOT take into account the 125 tournements so ???
@@Hugo-gc8jmmaybe just to build up her ranking more. She had her breakthrough only very recently so maybe she won less points last year
I think when she agreed to play she was not yet in the top 10. That could be it but I’m not quite sure

they need to retest her, her shoulder r huge for a women
The Doper Queen is back! 🎉
you're confusing her with Sharapova aka Dopatova :-)))
How did Arina lose 😂 then Halep lost to Blinkova who’s been in the worst form of her life
& SHE'S out in 2 round 😂
