The film is fine, soundtrack good, it proves the old saying "distance lends enchantment to the scene"

I only visited Newbiggin once, and it has to be the saddest seaside resort in the British Isles, perhaps in the whole of the western world.
Buildings are mostly of dark damp red brick, no trees or greenery. It's perishingly cold, I wouldn't dare venture into the seawater which was black with oil as was the beach. Greyness everywhere, with the occasional shaft of a pale cold sun.
Looking along the coastline there were wonderful views of.... oil refineries. The people who live there must be very brave.

Spent a delightful day trip here in the sunny sunshine in July 2023. Walked down the promenade to the southern end and up the cliff path, back along the elevated housing down the cliff path back to the north end and had a lovely coffee in the Maritme Centre. I'll go back again next year.

It’s rough, and a bit of a dump, typical low aspiration town, filled with pikey types riding on horseback, and unregistered motorcycles flying about.
Have a walk up the “Avenues” Northumberland & Westmorland, they’re the “Govan” of Newbiggin, the Moor Estate😅, then the Colliery, talk about rough, pond life city.
