My Yeti has now done over 260,000 miles. It's regular up in the mountain roads, handles ice well when others are stuck. It gives me around 60mpg and is 13 years old now. It passes the annual MOT without issues and I even once carried a whole cement mixer in the back... love it

I bought one in feb this year, done 15000kms.
Its 2l.,4x4, 2011 reg, for 3.5 lacs with 85k kms from a known dealer. thanks to 10 year criteria in NCR. Timing belt was good and all terrain bigger 16 inch tyres good as new.
It runs like a dream machine.mud,slush,water sandy roads, himachal ki pathrela road.it gobbles everything. 6 people in car and 2 quintal seeds in boot on dirt roads.dont think many so called suvs are that capable.
This is a beauty for bad roads. I drive mostly on farm roads and rural areas and its a beast.
Fun is passing Boleros at high speed on under construction roads.

One touch slide on all four windows.
One long press on key and you can raise or lower all windows. Fee add ons
Mileage is between 13 to 17 depending on roads.not bad for a 4x4 rocket.
I intend to keep it after 4 more years as a second car. Cause it will still beat a creta or seltos bought today.

The Yeti is no simple car to maintain. Spares are quite common with Audi Q3 & one can imagine the prices. You hate the car when it comes back from the workshop. The bills kill you. Then you decide to sell it off & get a new car. You go test drive the latest shiny car in the market. Then you realize what a gem the Yeti is and how it outperforms cars 10 years younger. This continues till the next time it goes to the workshop & the next test drive. Its a vicious cycle that drains you financially. But the thought of getting rid of the Yeti drains you emotionally. Damn! It's an obsessive relationship with a Yeti. 2.26 lakh km of obsession in my case.

Amazing review. As a proud owner of a Facelift 2015 4x4, I can relate myself to every comment you made. I have driven my lovely Yeti to Leh, Bhutan and Kanyakumari from Mumbai and have done umpteen trips to Goa too. Enjoyed each and every drive, always preferred over my Audi for long drives 😊
Hi Sir,I would like to ask you that. I have a Skoda yeti diesel engine and rune 177565 km and I didn't have services due to not available parts in Bhutan. But I changed the water pump only. Any issue if not maintenance others. Pls help me ....
@@munnagurung4657 Hi, annual service involves changing of oil and air filter every year, which is the minimum requirement for proper maintenance of any car. You can source these online. Any garage can do the service. If not done so far, pl change timing belt also. Happy Driving,
Long time owner here with a 2014 4x4 variant.
Only gripe with the Yeti is Skoda's service. 3 times refused to service the Haldex stating its a lifetime/sealed setup that does not need any maintenance. If not for a local garage who had the tools and tech to do it, could have been a bad situation.
Mine has been taken off road a fair bit as well. The 4x4 Haldex system is quite capable to get the Yeti up to many rutted trails with gravel and mud.
A feature that seems to be missed in the video is the dimming rear view mirror - center and driver side. Superb when noobs drive behind with their high beams.
Given how rare a 4x4 or AWDs are today, the Yeti 4x4 is a gem.

One of the best used car INDIAN review
The Yeti scored very well in customer satisfaction surveys year after year in the UK. Waiting lists for new Yetis were not uncommon. The car practically sold itself and yet Skoda dropped it because they couldn't make it fit into their branding package. So what do we get instead? At the time it was the Skoda Karoq; yet another Kia Sportage lookalike as so many cars on the market are. You had a winner, Skoda, and chose to drop it. Way to score an own goal.
I completely agree. I bought from a Skoda garage - mine had 1 previous owner, low mileage - and even the sales guys admitted they were baffled as to why Skoda re-branded their SUV range.

Well, got hands on a very lovely 2013 YETI AMBITION 2.0 TDi 4x2 with jst 18000 kms owned by NRI couple in Gujarat. But at hefty price of 5.75 lacs. But it's every single penny worth.
We drove out Yeti. 2litre diesel outdoor from the North of Enland to the south of Italy. No problems at all. Our friends landrover broke down twice. Need I say more
Right now in France prices for 2012 models at 150k km, are 9000€ and above. I've seen that years ago it was worth bellow 6k€. Market gone crazy on used cars.

Owning a 1.8TSI 4x4 Yeti that is 8 yrs old and 1 lac km plus (in the Middle East), I agree with what you say. On road it is quick and nimble. Acceleration is pretty quick and torquey. Off road (on desert tracks here) it did well for me in the strong summer heat.
Sad it is phased out. Every time I look at a new car I have a doubt if it has everything that Yeti offers? Just not able to think of getting rid of my Yeti.
One common problem with VW cars is the sunroof blind / curtain. IT just fails in 3-4 years and is super expensive to replace. The glue fails and the cloth drops. Very bad design that only 3-4mm of the 75cm wide cloth is stuck to the spring track.

Add some GTI front brakes, a Golf R subframe, GTI seats and an Octavia VRS steering wheel. Tune it and add some suspension, springs and decent wheels. Weapon.

Sir I have been owning one since 2011 and even today it is my daily driver with over 1.50 lakh kms on it, it still is my daily driver. And I honestly have no clue about what you just mentioned, I have had no engine issues up until now. Touchwood!

Nice trip down the memory lane. However I disagree with the statement, “Since it’s a VW product, you don’t get lot of steering feedback”.
Sir skoda octavia has been one of the best handing cars in its segment, and because yeti is made on the same platform it has equally good steering response, you don’t feel much body roll.

I am watching this in June,2022!! Now,asking price of used Skoda, is 6 lakh +!! Add to it, 10 year environmental R.T.O. rule for a Diesel engine!! Will a 2011 yeti, serve me for 10 more years? Otherwise, no use investing that much amount!! Kushaq at least comes with a BS6 engine, for 15 yrs. This is Diesel!! Will city police will let me drive it in say,2033?
