  • A Maytag MVW6500MW Pet Pro washing machine washing a large load of clothes on a Normal Cycle.
Settings: Normal Cycle, cool deep fill wash with normal agitation, cold rinse with optional extra rinse, normal spin.
This machine does live up to the name and that it does get pretty much all of the pet hair off of the items you are washing. It is worth noting that turning on the "Pet Pro" mode increases the wash time significantly. With it having the center post in the wash tub it makes it very easy to load the items you are wanting to wash evenly so it doesn't get out of balance. It does a good job softening jeans and work pants. I would recommend this machine to those looking for a basic washer that is good with pet hair and can accommodate large loads.

I purchased a Maytag washer in about 1984 and it was perfect. Completed a full load in about 20 minutes on normal. It wasn't noisy. I was forced to replace it in 2014 because parts were no longer available. Then got a top of the line front load Electrolux and hated it. Nothing felt clean any more. It lasted the 10 years as required by law which provides that every washer come with a 10 year guarantee on the motor. Then it became more expensive to fix than to replace. So a couple of weeks ago we went back to a top load Maytag because we were nostalgic for clean clothes, speedily completed. Remarkably, it doesn't come with a real manual that tells you what the features are. Presently my husband is downstairs washing a load while I'm trying to find some insight into how to use the various features. It remains to be seen whether my clothes get clean, but it's damn noisy and taking too long. In the end, even if we're satisfied with the way this washes, the experience of purchasing it and then discovering that there's no physical manual was a bummer. (I can't believe I'm sitting here watching a video of a washer spin through its cycles!)

Its funny that people think this is new technology, yet my 16 yr old Kenmore Portable washer has this:)

Even sounds like some toy. I had no business watching washing machines of the 70s and then view this new modern mess here.

I’d keep the Kenmore 80 series until it just won’t run anymore. I absolutely hate these new machines.

You'd need an hour to roll everything over once in that thing.

Could heavens it sounds like thin, metal hitting thin metal. And they charge a fortune for this. I would rather have a refurbished oldie than this in a heartbeat.

The pet pro mode is a complete joke. It just adds time to the already long cycle. You get the same results turning it off.

The Pet Pro Option basically overrides the Water Level, filling it to the perfect Water Level for the Maytag Pet Pro Agipeller to do it’s thing.
As I have the Maytag Pet Pro Agipeller installed in my Mother’s Whirlpool WTW6120HC3, it basically goes by Water Level & for it to even do it’s thing on my end, I just gotta set the Water Level to either High or Max Fill.

Don't really see the "cleaning muscle" Maytag advertises here. Just a poorly designed washer wiggling the clothes.

Another crappy machine. Takes 20 minutes just to get started, and there is hardly any rollover. Machine is loud, with electric buzzing noise. 15 minutes just fooling around sensing water level before actually washing. Can't see how laundry would be really clean.

This looks pitiful. That red garment is not getting washed at all. How do the manufacturers get away with this junk??

Presumably you could put in fewer clothes and have the water fill to the top.
