Torque steer because the Kingpin or steering axis been changed due to too much camber or lowering. Hence the handling characteristics are totally different from what the Honda wants it to be. That’s why we shouldn’t anyhow modify the suspension with extreme alignment settings. It has to pairs with the right mods before lowering the car or setting it with extreme camber on the front. The stock type R shouldn’t have any torque steers.
thats what we call la la zai mod , camber tune to negative in normal use havin 370on wheel also no use cant use it at all and makes the drivin more not uncomfortable
The owner should re evaluate where this car would spend the majority of its time, road or track? Even for a dedicated track only setup 3.5 degree is extreme. 2 degree personally would be my setting for the best balance. This car has the dual axis MacPherson strut design, which is a mix of best of both worlds. It doesn’t need aggressive camber. When going straight the benefits of “double wishbone” is felt because it will keep the wheel geometry closer to zero for maximum tyre contact patch, but when cornering and weight is shifted to the outside strut the geometry changes per the MacPherson design and adds camber upon compression, so in fact during cornering rather than seeing 3.5 degree you may be going to 5 degrees or more. The Honda engineers have spent huge amounts of time developing this very trick system so be very cautious adjusting it this far away from their settings. Even in track conditions you’ll still be leaving performance on the table because of the bad settings. Take Uncle’s advice, it’s worth its weight in gold!!

Seem like maybe good on track but on genting road maybe different setting needed seem like 370hp does not come out powerfully and feel like jumping a lot on this car anyway reset back to normal and adjust back accordingly it should be good this car is good one heheh I like uncle ys adjust steering wheel to his comfortable level so that driving car is a good position which remind a lot of driver also I believe a lot of people didn’t adjust it also hehe 😅good point on this😊 cheers
So many complaints haha. Too much torque for a front wheel drive car. The power delivery doesn't seem smooth or linear enough. Stiff suspension actually slows down the car on street due to reduced contact patch.
@@bennevantang4688 this is a very good point, because the scrub radius would also be different because of the change in ET, mixed with the camber the effect is compounded.
Wow this FK8 is fast after turning... Stock fast enough... Can't imagine how the Renault megane rs trophy R beat it....by 3 seconds faster...no joke about( 4 control) by renault Stock vs Stock....❤ anyway both car are awesome.
Hi Uncle Khong, what's your take on this car vs. the FD2R? Does the extra torque and power make it feel way more responsive? Did you find the FD2R lacking in power and speed?
Hi Sir, i own a 8th Gen Civic R18a with a 5 speed Manual Transmission. I'm planning to upgrade it to a 6 Speed with Type R's gear ratio. Do you have any suggestions & Recommendations?
Using +20 offset in FK8? I had a fk8, the first thing I study is the suitable wheel offset so that it wont rub too much or just require a little bit of chamber. Owner require a bit more understanding of the car before throwing in all the mods.
@YSKhongDriving i have a question Tito(uncle).... is it true that car manufacturing documentaries are immortalising because they'll just be a memory of the past and Futuristic Car are now Indemand? Specially Chinese Brands
Nice car but it doesn’t perform well, this type of built only for car auto show . I bet uncle more faster in circuits using stock car. It’s up to owner which mods he choose in the end.
dude look like he had the biggest shock of his life

Nice driving uncle! Always enjoyable to watch

as long as the owner likes it , im fine with how he wants to mod his car
Very strong torque steer but he’s still enjoying the car. This range of power already sufficient for fk8. If more sure hard to control.
Love the dashboard and steering wheel 🎊

Uncle when you are going to test the mitsubishi Asx.. im planning to get this car from secondhand car dealer.. needs some review
That car is not on sale anymore, and nobody offered it to me. I not looking either.
Uncle YS Khong ill recommend bmw e60 M5 to maximise the experience and the glorius v10 engine gonna whack the corner 😂❤ personally love e60 M5
Hahaha, the roadtax here is qiite daunting
Another thing. The torque steer might cause by the ET of the wheel. The wheel offset is too aggressive.
That is why he had yo use so much camber. Increasing offset would allow lesser camber.

if need the back roll. fully turn off TC. can see TC still kick in. camber front a bit too much in my opinion.
You gave it some Mr Khong the young fella is little to much focus on stance with camber .
Always the fridge disturbing the right lane . Aiyoooo .... elephant always hang around at the right lane .
Hi Uncle Khong, what's your take on this car vs. the FD2R? Does the extra torque and power make it feel way more responsive? Did you find the FD2R lacking in power and speed?
The FD2R will always be a favorite because it is NA and the sound of the engine is something special. Both offer different driving experiences.
Thanks for getting back to me, Uncle Khong. I'm considering keeping my FD2R, but hor for 500 Nm torque, I never had the chance to try it before! 🤣🤣🤣
Seems the car is not stable taking corners. Suspension alignment needed.
Hi Sir, i own a 8th Gen Civic R18a with a 5 speed Manual Transmission. I'm planning to upgrade it to a 6 Speed with Type R's gear ratio. Do you have any suggestions & Recommendations?
The 1.8 power is limoted so upgrading the gearbox wont give you much benefit
@YSKhongDriving thank you for your insight sir.
feels like the tyre is not able to handle that 520nm torque
Tyres were ok

It is CAMBER, not chamber. Know your terminology.
cleanfk8?
yes
Uncle can fetch me naik genting ? I will pay for ride😊
The tyre is insufficient to cope with that amount of torque & camber.
Just search Nissan GTR YS Khong Genting.... i hope someday

No
@@YSKhongDriving May I ask what it is then?
owner not even know what torque steering is , with offset 20 whatever alignment or setting or camber also cause torque steering.
You ready my what?
tyres proxes tr1? that might be the issue
Too much negative camber
@YSKhongDriving ok
@@YSKhongDriving how much was it currently ? more than -2?

On a circuit this setup would do very well. On Genting it needs to be a little softer.
Just from watching the video alone, you know the handling is set up all wrong for street.
More for SIC
is he breathing?
Yes, he had a great time!
Audio quality very bad la uncle
Sorry
this car should be all black instead of rojak mixing color
