NCT is the most fierce out of all SM groups. They do a lot more rap and hip hop (although all groups do everything from ballads to EDM and especially R&B). SHINee does a lot of Jazz, Funk, R&B, Ballads, and Pop. EXO does a lot of Pop, Ballads, and R&B. Even in NCT, their sub units have their own distinct sound!

Ooooooh! The KPOP rabbit hole is real. I've been in it for awhile now! One group leads to another. Jimin led me to Taemin who led me to SuperM who lead me to Kai and Baekhyun (EXO) and Taeyong, Mark, Ten, and Lucas (NCT). I love them all! Being a Multistan is both a blessing and a curse.
I am pretty much a Shawol only, but I love some of the NCT songs and watch their videos on TH-cam, my favorites are 90s Love, Make a Wish, Work it and From Home. My favorite is Haechan because he is a also a big Shawol 😁. I also love Ten, Mark and Taeyong because they are part of Super M. Oh! BTW Johnny and my oldest son were born the same day 02/09/1995, so he is also special to me 😍
SM is known for their amazing producers and engineers. They always are adding a ton of vocal layers and harmonies. That, the amount of vocalists they have, and beat changes/switch ups are SM staples and what distinguishes them from other companies in my opinion!
And the craziest thing is they also make sure these guys are able to pull it off live. I love vocals and there aren't many newer groups that can eat cds as a unit (within human capacity). Sure their main vocals are fine like kihyun, or JB and Jingyoung but generally if they're dancing, you will hear the strain on the rest. No judgment or shade though because their choreo is a killa
I'm a Shawol and love SHINee to pieces. Not an NCTzen but I like these NCT kids, especially Mark and Taeyong. I also like Jungwoo and Yangyang (WayV). Fave vocal is Doyoung. Fave dancer is Jisung (NCT Dream). Because of SHINee I came to learn all the names of the 23 members.

I adore Jungwoo! As for him as Taemin's clone, that's one of my first impression of him. His face and lanky body are similar. Can dance and sing well but not yet able to show his full potential unfortunately. The downside of being a part of a 23 member group. He needs to separate himself apart from the rest to get more attention and opportunities. He needs to find his niche. Being funny and cute aren't enough, coz there are so many funny and cute nct members.

despite liking SM groups for years and years, I was also really hesitant to get into NCT until very recently because it was so confusing, but after hearing 90's Love and Make a Wish I had to just take the plunge and it just... happened lol. It's not as daunting as it seems, trust me!

So does Eunhyuck from Super Junior, and Minho and Jonghyun from SHINee...and Johnny from NCT also seems to suffer from this disease. I am a Shawol but also consider myself to be a multi-fan..NCT, EXO, SuperM, Super Junior, G.O.D, BTS, Big Bang, Winner, BTOB, Mamamoo, Itzy, Twice, ATEEZ, Stray Kidz, IU, Paul Kim, AKMU...the list goes on. Every time I see a group or solo artist perform and share their talent, I can see the effort and the commitment to their art ,and it makes me so proud of them. I mean the line of work they've chosen is not easy. To be in the public eye and always working to be the best examples while trying to stay true to themselves and in most cases because they start out so young, they're still coming into themselves. I know what you mean, delving into NCT may seem like a lot when you've just discovered SHINee, but you won't regret it. It's like getting to know SHINee's little brothers.

My baby JungWoo you will know more if you watch their variety shows. Hope SM gives him more lines cause he’s more confident now. His voice is good too, a lead vocal. Well everyone can dance but the main dancers are Mark and TaeYong they’re also the rappers. HaeChan my other baby glides when he dances. Yuta is the Japanese member you noticed.

NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WAYV, and NCT U(The alternating unit.) NCT 127 - Hiphop/Trap/R&B/Electronic (They experiment with sound the most) NCT DREAM - Was once the baby unit (cute songs) but they're all grown now (Hiphop/R&B) WAYV - The only Chinese/Mandarin unit and underrated. Lyrically I call them the sex machines. (Hiphop/R&B/Soul) NCT U - The unit they pick and choose which artist they want to sing a song. Be it all rappers, singers, mixture of both. NCT has some beautiful vocalists Taeil, Doyoung, Haechan, Jaehyun, Ten, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun, Chenle... etc. You'll love their ballads. NCT Dream: Was the younger members who would graduate to 127 at 18. They are now a fixed unit. NCT 127: Older members, mostly Korean. WayV: China Branch of NCT NCT U: Any combination of the three, including performances of all 23 members together.

Here is some information about how NCT works. I hope this might make it a little easier to understand. NCT is different than any other Kpop group in the industry. NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 23 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM Entertainment's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. (They just added 2 new members at the end of 2020, who are expected to become members of a new sub-unit later this year, which brought their member count up to 23.) NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). The group's concept is based on dreams, so everything they do has something to do with being in a dream, dreaming or some sort of dream state, etc. And it's all connected to SM's Universe.
The first unit to debut was NCT-U which began April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the members, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members. The second sub-unit is NCT-127 which began July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit so the members don't change quite as much as the other groups. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world. So its 127's job to represent Seoul around the world. (There are 9 members in "Kick It." -- Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Doyoung, Yuta, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan.) "Kick It" (Chinese title "Hero") is based on being like Bruce Lee -- hence why they say Bruce Lee like a hundred times in the song LOL -- and black and yellow are Bruce Lee's signature colors -- so, that is why "Kick It" used those colors. And the finger move on the side of their nose is a signature Bruce Lee move. Bruce Lee is a Chinese action hero, so those are Chinese characters you see on the signs in the MV, etc. If you like their dancing you have to check out the dance practice video for "Kick It" because the MV doesn't even begin to do the choreography justice. I guarantee, there are parts of this dance that you didn't even notice, that will become clear in the dance practice. NCT are known for their dancing and they have a dance practice video for almost all of their MVs, so you should pair your reactions to future NCT songs with their dance practices as well. ;D NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016, and, it is made up of all the youngest members of the group. All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 19 and 21 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.) SM originally created this sub-unit with the idea that if they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees. The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they were no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (who is also a member of NCT-U, NCT-127 -- the only NCT member to debut as part of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- and SuperM) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun, who are all older than19, we thought would be graduating in 2019. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut sometime last year and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM announced at the beginning of 2020 that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole " graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group. The fourth sub-unit is WayV which debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name is because, at the time of their debut, the current conflict between the Korean and Chinese government was at it's peak and China is not allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCTs Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. Most of the members of WayV had already debuted originally as members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese. (Kun, the leader of WayV, debuted as a member of NCT-2018, which was a special project in 2018 with all 18 members of NCT at the time.) NCT was created by SM Entertainment in 2016 and the group is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units in every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, (You should check out "Let's Shut Up and Dance" with Jason Derulo, Lay from EXO and NCT-127), as well as a U.S. concert tour and promotional tours with the American media, etc. So, this year is NCT's 5th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted. For instance, Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung (All NCT-Dream members.) were part of the Disney Channel Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on a regular weekly variety show on the Disney Channel for a year before debut. Mark was the oldest member at around 15 and Jisung, who is NCT's youngest member, was around 13 at the time. But other members also did other things as part of SMRookies as well. And then there are members such as Lucas who technically debuted in 2018, but we saw him in one of Ten's (another member of NCT-U and WayV) solo songs as a featured extra in 2017.
Yup. That was thoroughly amazing.. in my opinion they should have kept the dream concept amd.not caved to the fans. Because the dream guys deserve to join the main group for major overseas concerts etc. And it would allow Mark and Haeahan rest
@@hiddlespearean SM kind of has a habit of allowing fans to force their hand and tell them what to do. It all started with Super Junior when fans forced SM to abandon their project group concept and make SuJu a permanent group, which ended up being a good thing, but it hasn't always worked out for the best. Such as when fans forced SM to make it so Henry and Zhoumi could never be considered full members of SuJu and they could only participate in SJ-M activities, or the current backlash that Sungmin and Chen are getting for the fact that they wanted to live a normal life and get married and have a family. SM has the power to put an end to things if they would just stand up for their artists. Then fans cried and whined about the Dream members "being forced to abandon each other and the group," so SM caved again and changed the whole concept of the group. I for one was excited to see what the next chapter was going to be for each of the members as they graduated. But now that they are forever stuck in NCT-Dream I kind of see it as if they are being held back from bigger and better things because now SM isn't sure what to do with them. Their sub-unit is becoming less unique and more like NCT-127 with every comeback. (Not to say I don't still love them and think all the members of Dream are amazing together, I just think they could have been a part of even greater things if people trusted SM's judgment and allowed them to do what they originally planned.)

Nct127 are known for being so different and unique that many people hate on their songs specially at the beginning, saying their songs are weird and how they can’t process them but l actually love this about them and the way they kept their sound and concept no matter what, they even talk about this in their songs how they’re trendsetters and bring new things “let me introduce you to some new thangs”😹 so it’s may take time actually to fully comprehend their sound😅 but I hope you become a fan, you gonna love them🥺 they’re so talented and humble also the funniest people to me❤️❤️❤️
My ult. group is no other than SHINee, but the last two years that my boys were on hiatus they caught my attention with SUPERHUMAN album. Took little steps at a time cos hell they are a big lot, but now i'm a proud nctizen that can identify their voices without looking at them. Their music is different and experimental but as you said always more on the fierce and powerful side. They have achieved a sound of their own (like SHINee) called "noise music", with a good number of quality dancers, rappers like Mark and Taeyong and a very good vocal line; Doyoung, Heachan, Taeil (this three are the most distinctive but there are more-Renjun-Chenle, Xiajun, Jaehyun, Jungwoo), but all 23 are very sweet/fresh and of course so talented that can evolve endlessly with their rotational unit system. I see them all as my new adoptive babys after my amazing SHINee boys. The songs that lured me in were: NCT 127 "SUPERHUMAN" curiously this song sounded to me so SHINee for the retro sound and harmonies that immediately downloaded it and began looking for more (fun fact-it's said that this song was considered to be for SHINee), NCT U "BOOS" and NCT dream "MY FIRST AND LAST". Enjoy them along side SM artist EXO-SUPER M-REDVELVET, SM really know how to chose people with talent and with nice personalities.

I know everyone has their own view/opinion about the MV and almost everyone has that reaction; the only regret I have is not knowing them since debut but the four years i’ve been a NCTzen watching so many their music videos, vlives, Neo Zone track videos with the teasers alone kill me. I also noticed the yellow & black theme in the MV which many have said it reminds them of Kill Bill but the colors have other meanings but it can also represent tribute to Bruce Lee; he used to wear yellow with black strips jumpsuit in his movies & they’re paying homage to him plus if it was about Kill Bill then there would be references within the song. I knew at some point they would reveal they are ninjas; giving off Karate Kid & Regular vibes the more I watch the it. I believe it’s somewhat of a tribute to Bruce Lee since they literally call out his name within the lyrics. I waited so long for this and now it’s here i’m speechless 😶 They didn’t come to play, Ive been trying hard to put their storyline together it’s been extremely hard and I have upsettingly forgotten allot of their story (If there is one). I love how they incorporate Bruce Lee even though he’s chinese who is universal legendary martial arts/kung fu master and actor, I know there’s been many kpop/cpop artists who’ve mentioned or used Bruce Lee name within their songs or title and i’m sure his family would be very happy to hear that he’s not being forgotten. I am so also happy to see our precious boy jungwoo finally back from being absent for awhile because of health issues (his voice/throat). I really love how the song sounds and they look so good. My ult is also Mark so I can relate to your friend but honestly Kick It is not the MV where he shines the brightest/steals the spotlight. There are many other tracks where he stands out more compared to this (he still nails it though especially during the break dance). Also when you are a Mark bias, I bet it's his off screen personality, professionalism, and hard work as well that made people swerving into his lane.
You discover one, and you discover them all. It's what happened with me. I got into EXO, and then just expanded to become an all SM stan. Hard not to when the best vocalists, dancers, visuals, and rappers in the industry are all under one roof!

My NCT biases are Taeyong, Haechan, Taeil, Yuta, Jeno, Ten, Yangyang and Jaemin... I just can’t narrow it down even after all this time 😭 check out Cherry Bomb and Superhuman by 127 too!
My Biases: Taeyong, YUTA, Renjun, TEN, Jungwoo, Winwin, Jaehyun, Haechan, Xiaojun, Yangyang, Shotaro and JISUNG but I love & support OT23. You forgot to mention the first subunit NCT U, since NCT 127 is the second unit then there is NCT DREAM and after that is WAYV the chinese subunit who is the 4th unit of NCT family *NCT 127 just released a new promo single “SAVE”.*

Honestly the system isn't complicated they just have 3 units treated like regular groups NCT 127 Korea based. NCT Dream the youngest ones more youthful sound. WayV China unit. They have an experimental sound but if u like Shinee then you're used to it cause all SM groups have this quality. 127 bsides are heavenly tho and more vocally centric they sing with so much emotion. I would recommend 127- highway to heaven (it's English bside MV), Super Human, Limitless, Simon Says.
I knew it. If you like Shinee, you'll like NCT and EXO too cause after Shinee, SM built their new groups to cannibalize their older groups, just eat up their fanbases. YG is the same. Kpop is twisted like that but I'm a shawol for the duration. I will listen to some of NCT, EXO, TVXQ, Super Junior, Red Velvet, and others too though.

NCT is the most fierce out of all SM groups. They do a lot more rap and hip hop (although all groups do everything from ballads to EDM and especially R&B).

SM is known for their amazing producers and engineers. They always are adding a ton of vocal layers and harmonies. That, the amount of vocalists they have, and beat changes/switch ups are SM staples and what distinguishes them from other companies in my opinion!
And the craziest thing is they also make sure these guys are able to pull it off live. I love vocals and there aren't many newer groups that can eat cds as a unit (within human capacity). Sure their main vocals are fine like kihyun, or JB and Jingyoung but generally if they're dancing, you will hear the strain on the rest. No judgment or shade though because their choreo is a killa

I adore Jungwoo! As for him as Taemin's clone, that's one of my first impression of him. His face and lanky body are similar. Can dance and sing well but not yet able to show his full potential unfortunately. The downside of being a part of a 23 member group. He needs to separate himself apart from the rest to get more attention and opportunities. He needs to find his niche. Being funny and cute aren't enough, coz there are so many funny and cute nct members.

I am a Shawol but also consider myself to be a multi-fan..NCT, EXO, SuperM, Super Junior, G.O.D, BTS, Big Bang, Winner, BTOB, Mamamoo, Itzy, Twice, ATEEZ, Stray Kidz, IU, Paul Kim, AKMU...the list goes on. Every time I see a group or solo artist perform and share their talent, I can see the effort and the commitment to their art ,and it makes me so proud of them. I mean the line of work they've chosen is not easy. To be in the public eye and always working to be the best examples while trying to stay true to themselves and in most cases because they start out so young, they're still coming into themselves.

Everyone is a visual but if you really must know JaeHyun the guy who just stepped out is the visual. TaeYong the leader is center, the one whose rapped you liked. Johnny is the angry one with abs. Taeil is the main vocalist. DoYoung is also main vocals and he’s sings so emotionally. My baby JungWoo you will know more if you watch their variety shows. Hope SM gives him more lines cause he’s more confident now. His voice is good too, a lead vocal. Well everyone can dance but the main dancers are Mark and TaeYong they’re also the rappers. HaeChan my other baby glides when he dances. Yuta is the Japanese member you noticed.

Here is some information about how NCT works. I hope this might make it a little easier to understand. NCT is different than any other Kpop group in the industry.
NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 23 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM Entertainment's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. (They just added 2 new members at the end of 2020, who are expected to become members of a new sub-unit later this year, which brought their member count up to 23.)
NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL
NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle).
The group's concept is based on dreams, so everything they do has something to do with being in a dream, dreaming or some sort of dream state, etc. And it's all connected to SM's Universe.
The first unit to debut was NCT-U which began April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the members, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members.
The second sub-unit is NCT-127 which began July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit so the members don't change quite as much as the other groups. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world. So its 127's job to represent Seoul around the world. (There are 9 members in "Kick It." -- Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Doyoung, Yuta, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan.)
"Kick It" (Chinese title "Hero") is based on being like Bruce Lee -- hence why they say Bruce Lee like a hundred times in the song LOL -- and black and yellow are Bruce Lee's signature colors -- so, that is why "Kick It" used those colors. And the finger move on the side of their nose is a signature Bruce Lee move. Bruce Lee is a Chinese action hero, so those are Chinese characters you see on the signs in the MV, etc.
If you like their dancing you have to check out the dance practice video for "Kick It" because the MV doesn't even begin to do the choreography justice. I guarantee, there are parts of this dance that you didn't even notice, that will become clear in the dance practice. NCT are known for their dancing and they have a dance practice video for almost all of their MVs, so you should pair your reactions to future NCT songs with their dance practices as well. ;D
NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016, and, it is made up of all the youngest members of the group. All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 19 and 21 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.) SM originally created this sub-unit with the idea that if they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees. The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they were no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (who is also a member of NCT-U, NCT-127 -- the only NCT member to debut as part of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- and SuperM) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun, who are all older than19, we thought would be graduating in 2019. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut sometime last year and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM announced at the beginning of 2020 that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole " graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group.
The fourth sub-unit is WayV which debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name is because, at the time of their debut, the current conflict between the Korean and Chinese government was at it's peak and China is not allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCTs Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. Most of the members of WayV had already debuted originally as members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese.
(Kun, the leader of WayV, debuted as a member of NCT-2018, which was a special project in 2018 with all 18 members of NCT at the time.)
NCT was created by SM Entertainment in 2016 and the group is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units in every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, (You should check out "Let's Shut Up and Dance" with Jason Derulo, Lay from EXO and NCT-127), as well as a U.S. concert tour and promotional tours with the American media, etc.
So, this year is NCT's 5th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted. For instance, Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung (All NCT-Dream members.) were part of the Disney Channel Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on a regular weekly variety show on the Disney Channel for a year before debut. Mark was the oldest member at around 15 and Jisung, who is NCT's youngest member, was around 13 at the time. But other members also did other things as part of SMRookies as well. And then there are members such as Lucas who technically debuted in 2018, but we saw him in one of Ten's (another member of NCT-U and WayV) solo songs as a featured extra in 2017.

@@hiddlespearean SM kind of has a habit of allowing fans to force their hand and tell them what to do. It all started with Super Junior when fans forced SM to abandon their project group concept and make SuJu a permanent group, which ended up being a good thing, but it hasn't always worked out for the best. Such as when fans forced SM to make it so Henry and Zhoumi could never be considered full members of SuJu and they could only participate in SJ-M activities, or the current backlash that Sungmin and Chen are getting for the fact that they wanted to live a normal life and get married and have a family. SM has the power to put an end to things if they would just stand up for their artists.
Then fans cried and whined about the Dream members "being forced to abandon each other and the group," so SM caved again and changed the whole concept of the group. I for one was excited to see what the next chapter was going to be for each of the members as they graduated. But now that they are forever stuck in NCT-Dream I kind of see it as if they are being held back from bigger and better things because now SM isn't sure what to do with them. Their sub-unit is becoming less unique and more like NCT-127 with every comeback. (Not to say I don't still love them and think all the members of Dream are amazing together, I just think they could have been a part of even greater things if people trusted SM's judgment and allowed them to do what they originally planned.)

And being limited to dream can't be great for these guys after a certain age. Sure there nct u, but the ones touring etc will be 127

My ult. group is no other than SHINee, but the last two years that my boys were on hiatus they caught my attention with SUPERHUMAN album. Took little steps at a time cos hell they are a big lot, but now i'm a proud nctizen that can identify their voices without looking at them. Their music is different and experimental but as you said always more on the fierce and powerful side. They have achieved a sound of their own (like SHINee) called "noise music", with a good number of quality dancers, rappers like Mark and Taeyong and a very good vocal line; Doyoung, Heachan, Taeil (this three are the most distinctive but there are more-Renjun-Chenle, Xiajun, Jaehyun, Jungwoo), but all 23 are very sweet/fresh and of course so talented that can evolve endlessly with their rotational unit system. I see them all as my new adoptive babys after my amazing SHINee boys. The songs that lured me in were: NCT 127 "SUPERHUMAN" curiously this song sounded to me so SHINee for the retro sound and harmonies that immediately downloaded it and began looking for more (fun fact-it's said that this song was considered to be for SHINee), NCT U "BOOS" and NCT dream "MY FIRST AND LAST". Enjoy them along side SM artist EXO-SUPER M-REDVELVET, SM really know how to chose people with talent and with nice personalities.
Just a fun prediction that your biases will be Taeyong and Yuta if you continue to like NCT based on your reaction today.

I know everyone has their own view/opinion about the MV and almost everyone has that reaction; the only regret I have is not knowing them since debut but the four years i’ve been a NCTzen watching so many their music videos, vlives, Neo Zone track videos with the teasers alone kill me. I also noticed the yellow & black theme in the MV which many have said it reminds them of Kill Bill but the colors have other meanings but it can also represent tribute to Bruce Lee; he used to wear yellow with black strips jumpsuit in his movies & they’re paying homage to him plus if it was about Kill Bill then there would be references within the song. I knew at some point they would reveal they are ninjas; giving off Karate Kid & Regular vibes the more I watch the it. I believe it’s somewhat of a tribute to Bruce Lee since they literally call out his name within the lyrics. I waited so long for this and now it’s here i’m speechless 😶 They didn’t come to play, Ive been trying hard to put their storyline together it’s been extremely hard and I have upsettingly forgotten allot of their story (If there is one). I love how they incorporate Bruce Lee even though he’s chinese who is universal legendary martial arts/kung fu master and actor, I know there’s been many kpop/cpop artists who’ve mentioned or used Bruce Lee name within their songs or title and i’m sure his family would be very happy to hear that he’s not being forgotten. I am so also happy to see our precious boy jungwoo finally back from being absent for awhile because of health issues (his voice/throat). I really love how the song sounds and they look so good. My ult is also Mark so I can relate to your friend but honestly Kick It is not the MV where he shines the brightest/steals the spotlight. There are many other tracks where he stands out more compared to this (he still nails it though especially during the break dance). Also when you are a Mark bias, I bet it's his off screen personality, professionalism, and hard work as well that made people swerving into his lane.
And down the rabbit hole she goes! You will enjoy this group. Then it will be EXO time.

Honestly the system isn't complicated they just have 3 units treated like regular groups NCT 127 Korea based. NCT Dream the youngest ones more youthful sound. WayV China unit. They have an experimental sound but if u like Shinee then you're used to it cause all SM groups have this quality. 127 bsides are heavenly tho and more vocally centric they sing with so much emotion. I would recommend 127- highway to heaven (it's English bside MV), Super Human, Limitless, Simon Says.
I knew it. If you like Shinee, you'll like NCT and EXO too cause after Shinee, SM built their new groups to cannibalize their older groups, just eat up their fanbases. YG is the same. Kpop is twisted like that but I'm a shawol for the duration. I will listen to some of NCT, EXO, TVXQ, Super Junior, Red Velvet, and others too though.
