I believe this is a feature that Microsoft are launching now, if not soon - Summer 2021.
I wonder if you can clarify what setting your Communications Site to a Home Site will do. Can this make it the landing page when you log in to O365 or does it just give you an easy way to get to it from there?

Should you first create the page and then add users to it (e.g. in case of a project comms site to inform users about your project)? 2. If your page is live and users are already assigned to it and can see the page. Can you make the updates first 'offline/hidden' before you officially launch/publish it to all users?
Hello,
Regarding the site infrastructure, the sites (Communication site and Teams sites) needed to be created first, with the security groups allocated to each (owners, members, visitors). The pages within each site will inherit those security groups.
Yes, you can make/edit a change, then 'Save draft' (top left corner of edit mode). When you are ready to share your page with your team, you can 'Republish'.

I used "SharePoint Designer 2007" years ago, but unfortunately, I can no longer see the "code" and "design" environment In the main program window from the later versions. Please guide me if possible.
Is it possible to implement normal static html & css to these pages?
With the comms pages -- can you assign permissions to each page or sections to say to each users who's going to be using it ?
In sharepoint, permissions are set (usually) at the hub or site level. It is not recommended to be so granular with permissions being set to each page, as this can become difficult to manage.

Can emails be sent to your internal team from a SharePoint site like this?
Can a communication site be a Homepage of an Intranet? How is it possible to make it the parent site so that other sites inherit its navigation and footer?
Yes a communication SharePoint site is exactly what you need to a homepage.
Setting this as the hub site is done in the SharePoint admin center. You will need to be a site owner to have the permission to do this.

Thank you for your message.
This particular demo site has now expired, so it is not accessible. However for your own site, yes you can set the necessary permissions to allow external users outside of the organisation to view areas of your SharePoint site if you require. These people usually only have read access rather than the ability to edit.

I just watched this video and found it super helpful, but I would also love to see how to design the layout of the share point more. In terms of using pages/web parts to enhance the design, and maybe the use of a blog (subsite).
It would also be interesting to know how to link a subsite in the navigation bar on your main page!

Hello Joachim, sorry I missed this comment. Unfortunately you are not able to customise SharePoint sites to your own URL.

No, unfortunately this is not possible. Sharepoint is a company data storage management system, its not a 'website' which is what your URL is depicting. All Sharepoint sites need 'Sharepoint'inthe URL. :)
Can you save a new page as a template?
Yes you can. Go to promote om the menu bar after you have published the page > save as template
Can we share the web to public?
There is the possibility to have visitors to your site, this will need to be set up via the site permissions. Visitors would only have read access and usually only limited to documents. Your IT team would would need to properly plan the site architecture as to how the site will be structured so it is complaint, to what visitors can/can't see.
