I wrote this as a comment to the original video link. Kudos for coming to Iceland to film your video! Seems like more and more bands are doing that. Nicely shot video in the south of Iceland. For those that are wondering: the first glaciers are either the outlet glaciers of Myrdalsjokull glacier or Vatnajokull glacier. The moss scenes looks as if they were shot in the Eldhraun lava field (that originated from the Lakagigar eruption in 1786, devastating the country and ultimately leading to crop failure in Europe that helped in inciting the French Revolution). Then you have the waterfall called Stjórnarfoss close to the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur and the beach is Reynisfjara (a huge tourist attraction today), followed by Toumas walking on top of Reynisfjall mountain, overlooking the beach.
Iceland, Finland, it's all Nordic man. Also the other Nordic countries all have similar landscapes so it's not easy for a foreigner to tell if they haven't actually been to those places. Like if you take a Swedish or a Finnish person, they could give you a list of all the differences between the nordic countries, but to a german guy, an english man or an american dude we all look the same, sound the same and live in places that are to their eyes pretty much the exact same. After all, the Nordic countries are an ethnocultural area, where pretty much every country has been part of or controlled one or more of the others. The similarities outnumber the differences.
@@themaster1670 Good input there man. I think though that Iceland landscape-wise is fundamentally different than the rest of the Nordics as here are almost no trees and the ground is to a very big extent composed of fresh volcanic rock, lava fields and other barren landscape.
+ThorsteinnK Yeah, it is different, but to someone who doesn't know/has no experience it's easy to mix up with for example northern Norway or the Lapland area which also has almost no trees, there's just moss and exposed rock and the occasional lake or river of glacier water that's come down from the Scandinavian mountains. There is a definite difference if you know what to look for, but there's also a lot of similarity there.
Oh man, I had no idea they were coming up with new material! Wolfheart is just one of those very consistent, very solid Melodic Death metal bands that I think people tend to overlook in the outskirts of bands like Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium. This song already sounds like Wolfheart will be hitting my top 5 albums of the year. \m/
Gallows Hymn by Lorelei. Has an interesting message and is melodic deathcore with a hint of jazz at the end. It's really unknown but definitely worth it
Lyrics: Spine forged from steel Perpetual construction Shatterproof backbone Foundation built from stone Nature's flawless creation Superior structure To withstand all the force Unbreakable core Cold waters of north Crush your waves into the shore Breakwater stands against the force Crush your waves into the shore Like an armor Hammered thousand times Iron that will not bend Is the strength of my flesh Like a bedrock I stand Majestic and grand Perpetual construction Unwavering power Cold waters of north Crush your waves into the shore Breakwater stands against the force Crush your waves into the shore In the eye of the storm The profound silence Thunder is taking its form When the first raindrop falls And the winds return Hold your ground Gather your strength Annihilate or fall
"metal" is such a massive concept that you really can't overdose on it. For example the difference between Luca Turilli's Rhapsody and Anaal Nathrakh is pretty darn huge.
The singer, Tuomas Saukkonen, is a real metal virtuoso. He plays guitar, bass, drums and I think that keyboards/piano too. I've been following him for a while and he has some older melodeath/doom projects (Before the Dawn, Black Sun Aeon) which are pretty good too, in case you are thirsty for some more "winter metal".
He can play the piano a bit, but as he has often stated "I don't have enough time to practice as much as I want". Here is a clip of him performing in studio back in the Shadow World album 2014. th-cam.com/video/pToXaIurVXw/w-d-xo.html
Tuomas Saukokken is a beast. Check out the song Frozen from his sideproject Black Sun Aeon. Got the last Riff stuck in my head for the last couple weeks....
I'm not a dirty butthole... I'm a clean butthole.. shaved and all!! Awesome track... can't wait for the album. Love how it shifts from heavy back into the more melodic metal towards the end.
Wow such an epic song and video! Also got me sold on the album pretty much :D When I saw the video I thought that I hope glacticcriminal HAS to do an review of it!! And you did! Even more epic to watch the video with you together. Keep up the good and entertaining work!
Tuomas had a social media post saying the water was 2 degrees Celsius, which is barely above freezing point, and that their gear had to be put out from time to time while filming with fire. You should react to his older material. Optimal choice would be Before the Dawn - Deadsong.
Love the Invader Zim intro lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂This is a perfect reaction by you and This song slays😀💗🤘😎🤘🎆🍻🌋🎸🎹👍🆒🇨🇦much love from Ottawa Canada-Ainalik Okpik Dupuis.
Please check out the band Tallah! Their debut E.P. just dropped and it's insane. They have to music videos out "Cottonmouth" and "Placenta." Their drummer is Mike Portnoy's (Dream Theater's drummer) son Max and the vocalist is youtuber Hungry Lights (Justin Bonitz)

I saw your video on about the band called unleashed the archer. And you said you want something that has power metal and thrash metal and speed metal sound to it. Well I suggest you should listen to toxic holocaust-nuke the cross. It’s like an speed metal mix with some black metal . Go check it out
Now you need to react to new songs from Omnium Gatherum. They will be touring with Wolfheart in fall and have 2 songs from the new album out: Gods go first & Refining Fire

Patrick Tracy all the landscape scenes are from Iceland
Good deal. Thanks for letting me know.
The landscape scenes are filmed in the south of Iceland. Been to all of those places and can name them.

Great reactions dude. Digging your channel man.
Tuomas never disappoints!!!
Lyrics:
Spine forged from steel
Perpetual construction
Shatterproof backbone
Foundation built from stone
Nature's flawless creation
Superior structure
To withstand all the force
Unbreakable core
Cold waters of north
Crush your waves into the shore
Breakwater stands against the force
Crush your waves into the shore
Like an armor
Hammered thousand times
Iron that will not bend
Is the strength of my flesh
Like a bedrock I stand
Majestic and grand
Perpetual construction
Unwavering power
Cold waters of north
Crush your waves into the shore
Breakwater stands against the force
Crush your waves into the shore
In the eye of the storm
The profound silence
Thunder is taking its form
When the first raindrop falls
And the winds return
Hold your ground
Gather your strength
Annihilate or fall
I just came off listening to over an hour of metal and here I am. Am I going to overdose on this genre?
"metal" is such a massive concept that you really can't overdose on it. For example the difference between Luca Turilli's Rhapsody and Anaal Nathrakh is pretty darn huge.
I listen to 10+ a day and don’t overdose. You’re good. Haha
