    This song was so perfect for me when I was 17 on the poor side of town and trying to find a girl. It said it all for me. Great song. He should definitely be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

    He is NOT in the Rock and Roll hall of fame !!! What are they thinking. Singer, song writer, producer, Grammy winner, etc. 17 hits in Billboard 100, Number 1 billboard hit, Poor Side of Town !! . Also, his songs have been used in movies and TV series. What else do you have to do ????????

      😢 He has nothing to do with not being in the HOF. Its just the very Stupid people that make that decision to keep him out. Therefore he IS in the HOF.

      I could not believe he's not in the rockn'roll Hall of Fame. That place is a joke. There are so many people not in and some of the people in who are a joke. Pisses me off every year they induct. I'll never go there.

  • @EldonSurette

    Johnny Rivers should already be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.The fact that he isn't is lame.

    • @SalvvOrtiz
      @SalvvOrtiz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      They have to induct all the hip hop and rap "artists" first, no space for a real artist.

      When I look at all the great talented artists NOT in the hall of fame realized it is just a joke. Very little to do with actual rock and roll artists more of an ego trip for the founder. Why I've never visited it.

    The first Girl I ever loved was with me when this song was out - I love her till this day !! but she went to the guy on the poor side of town.
    Little does he Know we still see each other . Purely platonic - but I got the last laugh ..

    Johnny still has a golden voice and good guitar licks. i wonder if the current bands will be able to do that in 50 plus years. The real deal1

      I do. I was 10 when I heard "Poor Side of Town," and it caught my attention. I love it to this day. Johnny's voice is distinctive and he's still handsome.

    I've always liked Johnny Rivers. It's a shame I did not know that he was still performing. He deserves more notoriety since he is indeed a great performer. And wow for his age he is fantastic and looks great. Like Steve Crosno in El Paso used to say....the great Juan Rios ladies and gentlemen. Great ob Johnny. Thank you for your songs .

    Love this guy...always will since those 60' days. Saved my life I guess just listening to someone who could project a mode, a feeling, such emotion. he got me over really bad times and I still hear you...Thank You for that.
