I take my hat off to the pair of you for the length of time you spent in foreign jails. I did 114 days in an Amsterdam jail and that was more than enough for me to cope with.

Arnhem or inrichting and you would know all about conjugal visiting and I happen to think it's possibly the most relaxed prison system in the world talking from limited personal experiences

Great podcast that, how mentally strong does one need to be to survive an ordeal like that.
Fight or flight innit. Either stand up and get through it or wither away. Easier said than done 😂. I was in intensive care for over a month with sepsis that I’d left too long. Oxygen sats on arrival at resus were 51%. Below 85-90 is low. Should have died or been brain damaged. Was put into a coma and was on kidney dialysis. Slap bang in the middle of a 28 year methadone addiction. Sepsis eats away at your own organs. I was off my fucking swede on high amounts due to opiate addiction of al fentanyl, propofol, midazolam , klonopin the lot. Had such vivid nightmares and hallucinations. Scary as fuck the whole ordeal. Had to start from scratch with everything due to muscle wastage. Had a tracheostomy, feeding tube.
Had to medically retire a year later as was no use. Now on 02 therapy at home and a canister when go out. Awaiting a lung transplant at 48 years old.
Done my methadone detox a year ago , stopped the gear 12 years ago just smoke a bit of pure weed and have a diazzie script and get zopiclone.
Anyway sorry for length but as you both said “YOU NEVER KNOW WHATS AROUND THE CORNER”. That is so fucking true.
Also it’s the fight or flight thing again. I couldn’t really do anything but something inside my brain must have told me to keep fighting. Would have been so easy to pass away , Had a couple of Respiratory arrests and they’ve asked me twice now if I want to give permission for DNR protocol. Do not resuscitate. I’ve said no and luckily not been back in hospital other than visits for 3 and 1/2 years. We’ve all got that fight in us if needed just depends how much you wanna fight. My son at the time was only 6 and I thought there’s no way I’m leaving my lad without a Dad just yet.

I'm not from the UK but I hear a lot from Liverpool because of all the Irish there, Them scousers are a different breed from what I've heard, wouldn't know anything about Salford but it seems to produce its own type of gangster

I have been on diazepam for 20 years off my doctor , am on them for life they don’t work no more, but am addicted to Fuk , I start itching an stuff there’s hundreds of withdrawal symptoms horrible, I got off methadone before but I got no chance of getting off these, my mate got bin liners full of strips , they was stupid cheap
It's much worse than opiate withdrawal and you can die coming off same as booze, opioids/opiates you can't.
Mate you can get of em I’m was addicted to em for years cut em down qauter of one at a time
Yeah there the worst a rehab facility won't take you say no you could have a seizure and die.. but a doctor will give you them could be injecting heroin crack in your groin living on the streets.. ok come come to rehab.. go through a hard patch find your little brother hanging.. nightmares stress guilt and having to work find yourself loosing the plot .. go to the doctor's tell them you don't want to be here I'm struggling I want to be with my brother.. take these dizepam you feel numb takes away abit of the stress you can sleep.. 3yr later they have cut you down but you get your own.. end up with tubs save money.. then you need them just feel normal function want to get off them and realise you have dug yourself a hole you can't get out if I stop taking these ... I'll be a mess won't be able to work will loose my job .. and you think back and think I wish I'd never touched them .. but I was loosing the plot and these helped but time fly's by and you think shit IV been on these for years I'm a different person but the withdrawal 🤦🤯 wow never thought it be that bad got these of a fucking doctor.. find out it's worse than heroin withdrawal crack all that .. rehab get off them then come to rehab 🤦 that's all I take I don't even smoke cigs .. wtf have I done .. anyway rambling but there a fucking nightmare don't do a thing now but keep me being able to function.. kids don't touch dizepam deal with the trauma don't mask it you need to still deal with it but now your fucked

My bird was on them for years then got pregnant and stopped taking them, when the baby was born it was addicted to them , she went the dole to get a grant for a buggy and they bought her a diazapram
Mans a survivor fair play ok he fucked up but hats of he got through it takes a strong mind to survive those circumstances

How hypocritical that is when they sell them in the shops/chemists over there? Mind you maybe not 75 quids worth, or is when it's in England. Pennies over there, those 10 strips. People come home with antibiotics, Viagra, omeprazole after a night out for ya stomach etc etc as it's that hard now just to see your doctor in England, ring between 8 an 9 then they ring you at 9 saying 'no more appointments left'.😱Then that's IF you get what you need anyway or are they just gonna go off some bullshit rhetoric they programmed with in training after uni. They crap, an name droppers if ya get me.

To true mate, STAINLAND ROAD SURGERY, HALIFAX,WEST YORKSHIRE, absolute discracefull excuse of a doctor's, refusing to give me any painkilling medication or food supplements untill my test results are bk from the hospital,so I'm left in pain 24/7 absolutely discracefull..oh.and this is the same practise that for 2 years gave the local butchers grandson paracetamol and then paracetamol and codeine for what they diagnosed as 'headaches' then when the poor lad was referred to the local hospital it was found to be a brain tumor the poor lad had and he was dead 3 months later,place should be shut down, privatised bullshit surgery 🖕🏻🤬🤬
