@@SRC267 it'd just run out of space! and while the zipbomb were being decompressed (detonated), there'd be a lot of CPU and RAM being wasted. Then after it eats up all of the phone's storage, 100% full now, the System (Linux on Android; Darwin on iOS) will stop the unzipping app from opening the bomb any further, causing a "no space left" error (ENOSPC) for that, which would make the app fail (exit/crash) after getting a -1 from write(2). So, you see, it's pretty simple, and all safe! you just have to delete the partially unzipped bomb after the fail to get all the used space back.
Ok, let me put it this way: if 1 byte is equal to a grain of sand, then 1 quettabyte would be enough sand to create a planet bigger than UY Scuti, the biggest star in the Milky Way.

you know it is interesting just how many times have I heard people say that definitely was not the intention, but I guess I've summoned five separate communities: Muse fans, Penrose fans, Rain World fans (cuz of profile picture), Project Wingman fans, and SIGNALIS fans.
since it is 4 am and I am hella bored, i ran some calculations (which might be super wrong) based on an old article saying that the weight of the internet back then (only 40 petabytes at the time) would be around 6 micrograms (which is different than the weight of a strawberry I think Vsauce? calculated at some point, since that was about traffic - yup, apparently it makes a huge difference whether you calculate the weight of traffic or of static stored data.). What I did is compare the 40 petabytes = 6 micrograms to the total calculated size of the zip bomb when unzipped. And uh, based on those 6 micrograms the zip bomb would weigh about a fifth of the dwarf planet ceres in just stored electrons. Obviously it's impossible to store this amount of data, but honestly it just gives you an idea of how much bytes this is. Just thought whoever reads this should know
very interesting info some other users have also mentioned that if 1 byte would be 1 sand particle, the result of unzipping would create a black hole approximately 3.8 times the Sun of our solar system
Copy and paste this file a couple of times And you have yourself, a Big Bang explosion. I doubled it in size.
Now stuff it inside of a pearl and take it to an iterator.
I think we found the solution to the Great Problem
thought this dethroned the 300 septillion yottabyte zip bomb i have saved until i saw the 1 quadrillion in the thumbnail
“Ok son that’s nice and all but, did you finish your homework, and chores?
"If I didn't, it's not going to matter in a few hours. Don't go to work tomorrow, Dad. Just DON'T. You'll save yourself the sanity."
"Son.....what do you mean?"
"I wiped the slate clean, Dad."

Inside that zip bomb is the FNAF lore times a trillion
"In conclusion, I... AM... A SUPERMASSIVE... BLACK HOLE."
Even NASA computers couldn’t handle this!
"whats inside there?" every single form and piece of media ever conceived is not even .000001% of this.
not really, no. if we're counting other zipbombs, then that's just wrong.
Imagine making zip files out of zip files full of this💀💀💀
Double it and pass it to the next person 💀
If you unzip it on your own computer
The explosion will be big enough to make you into a Spider-Man villain
actually it would be 6.3 tonnes of TNT equivalent of an explosion followed up by a black hole being created that's 78 million times greater than the Sun
@R-T_VA good God, I was just making a joke about how the explosion would fuse you with the computer and you become a spider man villain
@7evenseas975 yeeee it's a bit more.. Drastic

I totally thought this was named after popular vtuber Rin Penrose, which to be fair would be in character for her
you know it is interesting just how many times have I heard people say that
definitely was not the intention, but I guess I've summoned five separate communities:
Muse fans, Penrose fans, Rain World fans (cuz of profile picture), Project Wingman fans, and SIGNALIS fans.
Me who randomly unpack this bad boy on my drive :
Also the zip bomb: 122.61 kilobytes
0.005 bytes
that's the thing about zip-bombs
Once you unzip it, all hell breaks loose.
there's a 300 septillion yottabyte bomb out there that's 261 Quadrillion times bigger than this puny silly zip "bomb"
proof of existence?
since it is 4 am and I am hella bored, i ran some calculations (which might be super wrong) based on an old article saying that the weight of the internet back then (only 40 petabytes at the time) would be around 6 micrograms (which is different than the weight of a strawberry I think Vsauce? calculated at some point, since that was about traffic - yup, apparently it makes a huge difference whether you calculate the weight of traffic or of static stored data.). Just thought whoever reads this should know
very interesting info
some other users have also mentioned that if 1 byte would be 1 sand particle, the result of unzipping would create a black hole approximately 3.8 times the Sun of our solar system
“Now I have become the blue screen of death, the destroyer of the internet.”

Honestly, if i am bestowed with this ultimate penrose creation, i would just send this to something related to google that has forums to watch the internet explode, or just send this in my group chat for no reason cuz why not.
