  • Raw Speed RC is in the tire business and they're not playin'! Here's a look at some of the tire, insert and wheel offerings of the brand new RC aftermarket company, Raw Speed RC. In this video, I show off the Enigma, Rocket and Stage Two tires, the included (super nice) closed cell inserts and the aerospace developed wheels. Jason Snyder has done his homework on what makes a great race tire and these are top notch!

    Some info from Raw Speed RC on the Stage Two Tires:
    The "Stage Two" Buggy tire is the next generation of tire developed here at Raw Speed. It's bar tread design provides consistent, predictable traction on many surfaces. We have refined the tread design to last longer while increasing forward and side bite. The inner tire carcass has been updated as well to give a more stable feel at high speed and when used in cars with more powerful modified motors.

    My rear riptides wore down quick but my front stage twos are lasting much longer.

      really depends on the compound AND the track surface. At OCRC (back in the day) I could run these for a while. Anything with grit to the track and they do wear quickly

      Maybe you should do a video on that. I don't see how you can get it smooth like that

    Jason's the man. I have Raw Speed tires and front shock tower on my 3.0. I ran the rocket and enigma at the Stock Nats. I'm breaking in a set of Stage 2 on OCRC Monday... So maybe I'll see you there Rich.

    I might try em but in your opinion what's the best tire for the condition that you were driving on

      Tough question. I like the RawSpeeds - My second favorites are the AKA CrossLinks. Honestly, it depends on the track and the current layout, grip, etc

    There is no tire sponsor for spec tire in 4wd at 2019 Masters of Dirt. Raw speed would be nice to see there

      If you check Jason's website (RawSpeed) he gives this disclaimer on the rears: (Note: Will only fit TLR 22 3.0 buggies if you have added the optional shim on the rear axle inside the hub) The front state this: B5M / RB6 / SRX2

    they look like nice tires but they also look like Jconcepts with Rawspeed printed on the packaging so meh

      all tires for hard pack or clay look like jconcepts,or aka,or proline... not about what the tire or bag looks like, it's about how they perform. meh...

      Not even close....I have some JC's in house and compared these Raw Speed offerings to the PL, AKA and JC's They are def different. With out driving on them yet, hard to offer an opinion, but I'b got to say the best wheel and inserts I've seen from anyone.

    Hi, i was wondering if you could answer a query, as to why we treat 10th scale differently to 8th scale in terms of wheel/tire size. They are both 4wd and although it makes sense to have a wider tire on the rear of a 2wheel drive, does it make sense on the 4wd? I think from reading the IFMAR rules that the only thing that would need care is to not exceed the 250mm rule. Would this not then give all four wheel identical or close to identical traction footprint? Would this not be more ideal that a larger rear and narrower front.?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea....and have wondered the same. It's strange for 1/10th to have the wider rear tires....but I'm sure it has to do with the tire manufacturers some how! lol

    • @paulnoone8103
      @paulnoone8103 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply, it just doesnt make sense, either 10th scale is wrong or 8th scale is. To me all four wheels the same make logical sense. It must be the manufacturers, as it would add a cost to cover the 2wd scene aswell, as there is no 2wd 8th scale class. The old vintage models, like kyosho and hirobo used them. Who could answer this? Jason? Maybe rawspeed can start a new benchmark. It does my head in as it doesnt make sense.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul Savvas yeah, many times a 1/10th rear is wider than any 1/8th tire

    • @paulnoone8103
      @paulnoone8103 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, but i realise that, hence why i am asking why. Who can answer this, as logically it would be better drive through and out of corners, and probably better forward traction. Consider that 8th scale has more torque running nitro and this is the way they went, they must know something right?. Manufacturers would be reluctant as if it was better, then what would they do with all that stock? I think it needs to be a new supplier like rawspeed that could look into it. Would you try it if these were available? It would work out to a 38mm width tire. I wish i had a 3d printer right now.
