I wouldn’t exactly call it a “twist” but what I would like to know is why Disney keeps making movies where the main characters end up separating at the end
HTTYD 3 did it too, I'm scared this is just a general industry trend because if there's no justification it turns out bad and unsatisfying.
I like it in frozen 2, and i think a main theme in that is growing up, and changing and part of that is seperating. Plus she's supposed to be the fifth spirit, so i think it makes sense for her to be there. And I think its a nice ending, since at the end she says she'll come friday for charades, so.

DeathGodRiku I new it was coming 5 minutes in. The second I heard of the place and what happened there I new it. I never catch anything and I caught it right away.
Separating the characters doesn’t prevent sequels, it makes it so that people will pay to see them reunite. But Frozen 2 made it pretty clear that Elsa and Anna still see each other regularly, it’s more like two adult sisters both getting their own place, it would probably be more unrealistic for them to live in the same house forever, even if it is a palace. Like it’s only a day’s journey away and Elsa has a magic ice horse.
Ariel Steinsaltz more like 30 mins away that horse she has now Is pretty OP.
It's like moving to the next street and coming over for sleepovers every week...
I don't know if I saw Wreck it Ralph 3 and Venelope came back I would hate the movie twice as much I already hate it 1 billion percent with all my heart and soul. Because then that movie would be pointless filler. If you are going to have a big change at least stick with it.

To be honest, Elsa and Anna being queens is simply Disney's way of answering why they aren't considered "Disney Princesses".

None of these are really twists anymore. The ending is basically always “protagonist learns to leave friends and family to pursue dreams”

@@OneDude7745 She can come back to visit Arendelle any time she wants. At the end of the movie Anna invites her to play charades so we know they keep a close connection. We saw how quickly Nøkk brought her from Ahtohallan to Arendelle so for her it's like a ride to a nearby street. It's like an adult leaving his house to live in his own house, but he still visits his parents and brothers/sisters once in a while. Ralph 2 and Toy Story 4 did it worse by making the seperation permanent so it was more insulting.

A problem I found with Toy Story 4s ending was Woody's decision. Firstly, Woody was the first of Andy's toys that Bonnie played with and clearly had an attachment to, but in TS4 she doesn't seem to care about him at all. Also, the short The Toy Story that time forgot, Trixie has worries that Bonnie won't play with her again, but she learns the lesson that she will be again in time, she just had to be patient, but again in TS4 Woody's not played with for a little bit, and then is all up for leaving not just Bonnie, but all his old friends he's known for years. Continuing on from this, Bo in TS4 is rather mean to Woody, criticising his way of life and offering no alternative other than you get played with loads of kids (which goes against the already learnt message of a toy being special to one child). So honestly, I don't like the idea of Woody leaving Bonnie and all his friends for a toy he's basically grown apart from.
Agreed. I found it lame how Woody just left. The other movies he could have left his friends but stuck with them.

It is more about toxic love, if you love and be loyal someone one-sidedly it can go as far it can go.
When Bonnie, Woody's home abandon him after many times and Woody seeing toys from 2-3 where they got abandon by the owner, you are bound to think the 'what if' - you can't help but feel anxious with relationships in real life
That is why Woody was very clingy in so many scenes of TS4 if you see how he become desperate over time to please Bonnie - he is a lost toy in this narrative.
When he found love and his place in Bo peep, he is not lost anymore - which is why everyone ask 'is woody a lost toy now?' and Buzz says 'He is not lost anymore'
I got what you meant and I hope this explains why Woody did what he did and look at our own relationship in the real world.

I could see why Bonnie didnt play with woddy anymore. Shes a little child and they tend to lose interest in toys really fast, but l do agree she would go back to play with woddy if he had waited or he would end up going back to sunny side or another child toy.
Ok so like what the entire movie was an intended pun? Like Anna was the first frozen person in the 1st one and then Elsa comes along in the 2nd one and says ‘ey look I’m fRoZeN 2!

Her departure was setup with little scenes like when Elsa sees the mist she ran to it without Anna,and when she sees the rock giants she almost forget about anna
Did Elsa really leave though? She's like...in Arendelle's back yard. It didn't feel at all bittersweet to me, just a sugary happy ending after quite a dark series of events.
I still don't get WHY Elsa stayed there though. It's just a forest.
Yeah, that’s my biggest issue with it. Why did she make the choice to stay there? What can she do there that she couldn’t do in the city? It’s not like we saw her build any sort of connection with the people who still lived there. It came out of freaking nowhere, and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
@@morganfreeman9106 I definitely get the impression that some important scenes were left on the cutting room floor. I enjoyed the movie, but the whole concept was just a bit of a contrived mess.

@@alejandroojeda1572 Yes. She was scared of losing everyone or putting them in danger. She says in 'into the unknown' that Arendelle isn't where she is meant to be. You can tell she is there out of duty to her family and her people until she realises who she truly is throughout the film and that Anna is better suited as Queen than she is as Anna took charge just before they left with telling Grand Pabbie to get everyone out. She also took charge when Elsa was frozen for going too far into the river full of memory. There was a shift in power and was hinted at throughout the movie, so Anna becoming Queen and Elsa leaving wasn't out of the blue for me but was a surprise because in the original Frozen Elsa returned even though she knew she didn't belong. And heck! Anna slipped into the new role of regent (in a way as Elsa had ran and technically no one was in charge) then. They hinted at it back then if you look at the signs.

I didn't like the Toy Story 4 ending. IT LITERALLY GOES AGAINST WOODY'S CHARACTER!!! Woody would do whatever it takes to stay with a child. That's his whole obsession. And Seamus I'm sure if you weren't so attached to Toy Story you would have also said it was a sub-par ending.

I mean the first movie wasn’t completely about her fleeing to isolation from her responsibilities as queen.
And the second movie still fleeing, this time following a voice that was later established was herself kinda and guiding her into that very forest that she is half from and feeling more connected with because the people there saw her powers as a gift and not curse like the people in Arendelle.

Ehh he's just that comic relief character, and jokes are really kinda subjective. If that's not your kind of joke then that's it, he's just a know it all loudmouth trying so hard to be relatable and stuff. But if that's your kind of joke it can be really funny and entertaining and a great character

I feel it was an odd ending choice. For Ralph and venelope it sort of worked. We do have friends that move away, so to a different school ect. It happens in life... but Elsa finally got her sister (her only family back!) and after three years fucks off to be alone again!? I need this explained lol

I think it's symbolism is that as we grow, we like different things from our family and friends but as we move on and part we still keep in touch. You won't always be with your siblings as you'll have your own life. Anna and elsa needed follow their own paths

I think the most bittersweet twist of this type ending for me was when I watched How To Train Your Dragon 3. Now THAT broke me 😭 at the same time, it didn’t feel forced because it made sense why Toothless had to leave Hiccup. It was very natural and made for the perfect ending to the amazing trilogy film.

But, now that you mention it, Disney has been doing this with their movies, lately. It's worked in some better than others. I still don't know how much i really like Frozen 2, though. I've been watching a lot of reviews and I really agree with most people's complaints/critiques and left over questions, but I still enjoyed it overall and liked the score and Into the Unknown and the humor :)
I think it's just the plot that's kinda bad, since they need to fit all answers n plot in there but do so quite poorly. Everything else is fine, humor's funny, the graphics are stunning, the new character designs are great, the songs are great
The graphics really were stunning! I think most of the movie was the animators just showing off what they can do with their technology now! XD I still love "Into the Unknown" :)

You know, Disney has some bad twist endings but this twist is really powerful to Elsa’s character arc. She’s lost and feels alone her entire life and then goes on a journey to find the answers to why she’s different and then discovers that the only answer she truly needed was to believe in herself and follow her own path instead of the one that was given to her at birth.
